What is the difference between Kilimanjaro club concierge at AKL and regular studio Savannah view? Its only 2 pts more per night. What extras do you get? Are the club rooms only on the higher floors? We prefer 2nd. floor so we're closer to the animals.

Also, would we have a chance at either spot for March 2011? Our home resort is OKW.

Thanks,

Debbie and Tony.

Are the points the same at Jambo House as at Kidani?

Concierge is great - you get snacks and planning assistance, but you don't have a guaranteed savannah view. And even if you have a savannah view it's not the greatest.

You also get daily maid service. You probably have a better shot at a savannah view room than concierge as they have very few rooms.

Also - they are all on the 5th floor of jambo.

You probably have no chance for the concierge villas in March. You need to own at AKV to get this most of the time. These are all on the sixth floor. There are three two bedroom lockoffs with savanna view and two two bedroom lockoffs with pool view. The view from these villas is somewhat blocked by the roof overhang. The rest of the villas in Jambo House are located on the fifth floor.

If you prefer a 2nd floor, you would want to try for a room in Kidani Village. The rooms there are on the 2nd to 5th floors.

There are no concierge villas at Kidani Village.

You do get daily full housekeeping service including turn down service and access to the concierge lounge.

There are very few concierge rooms so you really need to own at AKV and book right at the 11 month window most of the times.

You also have the ability to book the sunrise safari if you are in concierge (and get a discount on other safaris). We did the sunrise safari and it was amazing. There is also food there (not enough to make a meal) and snacks during the day, and beverages of the adult variety in the evenings. (I loved the Amarula!) Well worth the extra points if you have them available. Will you be able to get it at the 7 month mark, not likely. If not, waitlist for it. Worst comes to worst, you have what you have now. But if you get it, Ahh.. How sweet it is! I've seen quite a few posts on people having their waitlist come through for concierge.
