I've been reading differing opinions on this. The last time I rode, I really don't remember it being all that bumpy - no more than some of the roads back home. We were in the front row - could this be the difference?? I obvioulsy don't want to risk it if others have found it really bumpy but I also don't want to miss our 2.5 year old's reactions to the animals. Your thoughts?

I rode when I was about 6 months pregnant. It's not that bumpy, IMO.

I don't remember it being extraordinarily bumpy, however, there were a few 'big' bumps... I chose not to ride it when I was 6 mos. pregnant, because if anything DID happen, I'd have a hard time living with myself. And yes, I missed those moments and sat outside for what seemed like a long time waiting. That's the downside of visiting an amusement park when you are pregnant.

It depends how comfortable you are taking risks and how easy/difficult your pregnancy is. Some of the things that are against certain drs. advice include: drinking a glass of wine, amount of caffeine, hot dogs and whatever the chemical is in them, tuna, lunch meat, diet soda. If you won't do any of those, then I wouldn't do KS. I would also ask your dr. about their opinion. Whether or not you choose to follow it is YOUR decision, but at least you know their approach.

Good luck!

Remember this is your child, and it's not worth the risk. I know it's hard not to go, but it's a little bumpy and there are some pretty big jolts.

not to mention that the drivers are really driving the vehicles. We went this past week and our driver ran off of the road a little and hit a big pothole and even apologized for it.

If this were to happen, you could have problems that would stay with you from now on.

I just wouldn't risk it.

It is bumpier in the back vs the front seats. Try to sit closer to the driver.

I was behind a pregnant woman in line one time and she asked them cm if she could ride. She said she was 6 months and he said he did not recommend it. He showed her to where she could wait for her family.

The "bounce" factor of the ride can be compared to a school bus on a dirt road. Not a great suspension, not a great road.

I just rode it on Wednesday and it was QUITE bumpy. I would not risk it.

I just rode it on Monday and thought it was quite bumpy also, very much so. I thought they needed to have more warning for those with back and neck problems.

Funny ... I seem to remember 3 or 4 signs while in the queue, as well as a recorded spiel in the load area, as well as warnings on the park maps. What do you want? Warning signs every 5 feet?

Have you considered having your DH video tape your child? Also, think about visiting AKL and walking around to see the animals. That way you can experience many of them together.

I rode it while 6 months pregnant, however having said that I would not recommend it.

The last time we rode (I wasn't pregnant), it was very bumpy. Bumpier than I remember. We were in the back and I swear I was holding on to DD2 because she was bouncing all over that seat. She thought it was great, but it was VERY BUMPY.

Both excellent ideas if you decide not to ride.

There is a warning on it for pregnant women. I did not go on it last summer while I was pregnant, I waited while DH took the kids on it. I just didn't want to take the chance in case it was extra bumpy, ect.. not worth it!

Back in 2002 I was in the process of passing kidney stones (what a wonder ful time huh) and was having back pain nothing unmanageable though. HE hit the first pot hole going very fast and that did it. By back went into spasm. I even screamed outin pain. I had tears down my eyes but there was some younger kids upfront who was egging him on and so he purposely hit the holes going even faster. I dont remember much of anything on that ride. When I got off I could barely walk and it ruined my vacation.

This past October, I was feeling fine but was so scared to go on this ride. I requested the front row. We had to wait just a bit longer but it was so worth it. A couple of bumps but nothing major. Had a great time.

If you decide to go, I would highly recommend waiting for a front row seat. Just ask the CM who is loading the ride. I have ridden in the front row and in the last row and it is a totally different ride. The front is very mild (IMO) and the back was down right uncomfortable. I was holding onto DD6 very tightly and will now always asked for a front row seat.

As a previous posted said, consult your Doctor too! Have a great trip and best wishes with #2!

I went on it in October. (3 months pregnant at the time) I sat up front and it was fine. I think that you need to do what makes you feel comfortable. I had been on it many times before and knew that I needed to be up front(and when to hold on because of the bumps). I enjoyed it and had no problems afterwards. But that was my choice.

Sat in the front at 6 months no problem!
My wife did as well and we're now the parents of a beautiful, healthy 5 month old baby girl. I don't think it's nealy wild enough to do any harm, but you've got to follow your own instincts. It'll definitely be there next time you visit should you decide to skip it.
