Kilamanjaro Safari while 6 mos pregnant

The ride does vary, so I'd be very hesitant to try it at 6 months. Sometimes, even if you're in the front, it can be quite bumpy. Just not worth the risk for a ride, IMO.

"If prone to motion sickness, back trouble, or have other physical limittions, you may want to sit this one out. The ride is a rather bumpy one." :confused3 :confused3

Funny ... I seem to remember 3 or 4 signs while in the queue, as well as a recorded spiel in the load area, as well as warnings on the park maps. What do you want? Warning signs every 5 feet?

I beg your pardon. I did not notice the signs, and no, it is probably not necessary to have warning signs every 5 feet.

Why risk it?

The question is, if something happened to your unborn child after riding it, could you live with yourself?

It is not worth the risk. I would never ride any "thril" or "bouncy" rides while pregnant. If Disney has a sign there, it is there for a reason.

Sure some will say "It is just so Disney can cover their butt", but are YOU willing to take the risk? Are YOU willing to be the ONE the sign is about?

Let your family go on the ride & you go do some shopping, or take a little rest in a nice quiet spot.

Dont risk your unborn child just so you can go on a ride.

The rides will always be there. Go back when you are not pregnant & enjoy the ride.

We rode it while pregnant and didn't have any problems. If you are expecting it to be bumpy, you can brace yourself a little and it won't be as bad. We found it no worse than some of the streets in our town though.

While I see some on here have done it and THEIR children are fine, please dont risk it.

I just went this past week and I cannot imagine a 6 mo. pregnant woman riding that vehicle.

You have to realize that it GREATLY depends on the driver. The road regardless is rough but you have a 50% chance of having an even ROUGHER trip, just don't risk it.

Personally I would urge a female much less pregnant than yourself to not do this attraction.

Many think because "they" were fine that everyone else will be as well. Many do the same thing when discussing whether a ride is intense or not.

When we are with DD, we are always in the front seat because that it the only row that a wheelchair can be loaded into. She bounces around a lot, even in the front, with her wheelchair strapped to the vehicle and a seatbelt the holds her to the wheelchair and another that straps her to the ride car.

I would not want to ride it pregnant.

I also did not remember it being very bumpy. But we were just there last Monday and took my Mom who has a bad back and we had an expecially bumpy ride. Fortunately, her back was ok, but I guess I just noticed more how bumpy it actually was. It's your choice, of course, but since you asked for opinions, if I were 6 months pregnant (again - have 4!), I probably would not go on this ride. Good luck!

I have been following this thread as we are headed to WDW in April and trying to get pregnant now. DD4 is so expressive and I am dying to see her on the safari. Giraffes are her favorite animals. Maybe we'll wait to 'try' until our trip. How crazy am I - planning a baby around WDW? :rotfl:

We read here to visit AKL and we did get there about 5 or so. There were a number of giraffes in the area- being fed and wandering around. They would follow the truck with the food, and when it stopped so the ladies could drop off more food, the giraffes would reach into the truck and help themselves- it was comical! Perhaps this would be a good idea for your family?
