My son started a new soccer season yesterday. We were expecting nice weather, but we got rain instead. It wasn't bad enough to cancel the game, but it was annoying.
Here are a few shots. They were all taken with a Canon 5DM2 and a Canon 300mm f/2.8.
The gallery is here if you want to see the others. I was really impressed with how the 5D kept up with AF using the 300. It didn't perform nearly as well last year with the 70-200. It was OK, but my keeper rate was significantly lower. I brought along a 7D as well, but when you combined it with the 300, it was just too long for the short field. It would have helped if I had gone to one end and shot from a corner. Instead, I camped in my chair near midfield. My chair has a sun cover which worked well as a rain cover and I wasn't dressed for standing out in the rain on a cold, wet morning.
