Kids Safety Bands

Hello readers, I'm going to Disney in June and was concerned about my kids -they're 5 and 7 and like to wander. I was very concerned when I thought about all those people at Disney. I know my children, I have 2 boys and they're a handful!
Then a friend recommended this website "kidssafetybands dot com" and I wanted to share it with everyone else. It's a neat idea. Silicone wristbands laser engraved with your childs' initials or( if found please call) on front and parents cell phone number on back; pretty clever right?!
I ordered two bands and they came out great!
I'm looking forward to Disney, and now have a little more peace of mind.

They're a great idea, but 1/2 the price on shanrene.com (1.99 vs 4.00 per band), just fyi

Shanrene.com only sells adult and youth sizes. So if you have a child under 5 they will be too big. kidssafetybands.com sells X-Small for toddlers and kids with little wrists. Band are no good if they fall off!!

I ordered the sharene bands for my kids (6 & 2) for our December trip. The 6yo wore hers on her wrist and I put the 2yo's on his ankle... they worked out great!

I wouldn't pay extra for smaller ones since I can keep these for as long as we have these cell #'s ...which hopefully will be longer than my kids would need to wear them!

Sure, but I am just pointing to another (cheaper) option. The shanrene ones are great for my (a bit older) kids.

not to panic you but last week my ds who is 15 and has downs wanted to go into honey I shrunk the kids playground-I reluctantly let hi-he went in a cave- I could see his feet running back and forth then he climbed up top and then when 10 mins went by and he didn't come out-I freaked- I was alone and told a cast memeber- he was on slide duty and couldn't leave his post-due to 'safety" then I asked someone else and she couldn't go in the cave -she was 'claustrophobic"!

When i went to the front to close the gates the cast memeber said they may have to call security-well duh! I am crying like a crazy lady and he cannot speak clearly- he wouldn't be able to tell them my name
he can write his name add and tel # we constantly work on trying to have him answer when we call-he doesn't

Finally the cast memeber who did a sweep of the cave went back in for a 2nd sweep and he was "hiding" behind a pole?
uhmm... he's 15, he has downs, and a white shirt-how big was the pole!!??

I was disgusted by their lack of urgency-I wasn't afraid someone took him-but that he had come out of the cave without me seeing him-was having the time of his life on another place-he uses a wheelchairy type stroller and really prefers to be in it than walk all that way-so i don't worry about him lagging behind

when the cast member took him out and he saw me- he hugged me, rubbed my face, told me to be happy,,he knew i was upset-wiped my eyes

I would say do whatever you have to to be safe-there is so much to look at-kids will not be following you


and just as we got off the boat, I am wheeling his chair up-turn and he is gone again!! i am calling- he was holding the gate open for the other passengers getting off

I took my DS5 to WDW for his birthday this year, just the two of us. I wanted to be sure we could find each other if seperated. We went to Walmart and printed a dog tag with

If lost, call my mom, XXXX Cell phone # XXXXX

We talked about what to do if we got seperated. He would show this tag to an employee in a uniform or another mom. We didn't need to use it, but everyday he was happy to put it on. It was on a ball chain with his favorite pirate skull. Captian Hook really liked it! The front of the tag was Sponge Bob. I think it cost about $6, but it was a pretty cheap insurance policy.

I am definitely either going to do the bracelet or the dog tags for ds... he has adhd and likes to "hide" from me and see if I can find him.. hopefully we never have to use it though!

I ordered the yellow ones and got all the same color. That way they could be interchangeable for dd and ds.
