Kids ride free on Autotrain this summer?

Does anyone know if Amtrak will be offering the "kids ride free" promo or the discounted seats for kids again this summer?

Really want to do the Autotrain again, but it's getting to be very pricey!

If I am not mistaken they advertise the discounted kids tickets in April. Last year instead of being free it was $19 a child.

Yup. That's the kids deal they always offer. I'm hoping they'll do their special discount that they sometimes offer for summer. I thought it might be a little too early to tell, but I was hoping someone on here might know! I guess I'll have to check in April

All I can say is WOW! How does this thing stay in business? For our family of 4 it was almost $1100 for the cheapest seat. Almost $2k for a family sleeper room. That was with this 'special' pricing and we'd still have to drive a few hours, through the mess of DC just to get to the station. Then add overnight travel of 17+ hours.
For less than the $1100 we can fly there in 2.5 hrs and pay for a rental car.
I would only recommend this for those with an incurable fear of flying.
