Kid's Pirate Adventure

My boys loved the adventure. :thumbsup2 They thought it was one of the best parts of the trip and tell everyone they meet about it...especially the skull they found in a bag they thought was treasure. (Although my oldest is quick to say he knew it was plastic the whole time...LOL!) ;)

I'll post pics of it if someone tells me how to do that! I took a ton.
Again they went on the one at the Caribbean and loved it. Their cpt was cute and funny, shame I wasnt available at the time. :rotfl:
My fam and i had breakfast in the food court and sat outside chatting for a while in peace. It was great for everyone, and the looks on their faces....well...the only thing that made my younger guy happier was when Pocahontas kissed him. (he thinks shes his girlfriend now :lmao: its too cute!!)

Now I am worried about this....my son will be just 4 when we go in Sept and I have booked him on this cruise. All the material I have read online said that the kids must be potty trained, which he is. When I made the reservation, the CM said they must be "independent in the bathroom". Of course, I am worried about my barely 4 year old going into public bathrooms alone....does anyone know if there is a male chaperone or if they go in there after the kids if they are in there for too long? I am a former teacher and a group of boys unsupervised in the bathroom spells trouble....
I am surely being over protective, but I am curious.

Do the kids still get the bandanas w/ears or are they plain now?

It seems to be nearly random. We've done it twice and have gotten bandanas each time - if the ears are a dealbreaker, go buy the ears.

My son was the oldest and quite bored when he was just turned eight - He had a GREAT time at six. He's going again (he'll be ten) because he's supervising a four year old cousin.

My kids have never actually EATEN their lunch on the cruise - they've been handed a bag lunch and goodies upon leaving the pontoon.

if anyone has the # I need to call. Do you pay when you book?

Call 407-WDW-DINE to book it, and I think we gave a credit card to hold the ressie and paid when the kids went. DH took them that morning so I'm not sure.:confused3 Kids, 6 and 4, loved the POR cruise:love: and it was so worth the money. Listening to the kids singing pirate songs as they came into dock was priceless.:rotfl2:

I am also curious! Please post anything you may know about this. (restroom situations)

Dana

I dont know anything about the restroom situation. I never thought of it to be honest. :confused3 I'm sure thou if when you take your child to the ship and meet the Capt. and 1st mate they'll answer any questions you have. They did for me. They were very nice.:)

As for the lunch. My kids came back fed. My son told me something about they stole a cooler full of sandwiches either from the ship and ate it on the beach or from the beach and ate it on the ship. Both boys were talking at the same time so it was kinda hard to follow it all. :yay: :yay:

I know they went past a tree with skeletons hanging on it and it was called the "Hanging Tree" they also found a bag they thought was a treasure and a skull fell out :scared1:. My oldest was very quick to say he knew it was plastic all along. ;)

They really did have a great time, and I would definately tell any parent to do it! Your kids will love it! I even relaxed alot after I met the crew and talked to them for a minute. :cutie:

I have the GF Pirate Cruise booked for my DS8 on Saturday 6/7th. I'm looking forward to it both for him . . . and me. ;) I didn't make an ADR for breakfast at Kona because I wanted to keep my options open. Wonder if that's enough time to get over there and back? :confused3 Two hours sounds like alot, but that includes getting somewhere and back at least 10 minutes early. :cutie:

We just got back 3 weeks ago, booked cruise for my 4 & 7 year old grandson. They loved it. They do not have bathroom on boat, the CR's told the kids before they got on boat to go to the bathroom. The boat is never far from the hotel, my guess if they had emergency bathroom problem they would come back for them to go. They are very watchful of the kids, I worried at first but once I got there we were very comfortable with them going. They had so much fun. Wish I knew how to post picture.

Woohoo. I am SO glad that I found out about this Pirate Adventure cruise that some resorts have! I just booked a Pirate Adventure for my older boys for August 4th at the GF. I told them all about it this morning and showed them pictures on this thread and they are VERY excited about it. Especially my 9 year old! I can't wait! Gives myself, my hubby and our youngest time to sit back and maybe walk around the grand floridian ::yes:: We have a lunch scheduled at 2 pm at the crystal palace so I am going to tell the boys to save their lunches from the cruise and they can eat it later as a snack or something :woohoo:

The price is $31.95 per child at the GF. I doubled checked and made sure they get the pirate mickey ears ad not just the bandana :) And at the GF they get the pirate mickey ears

My DD did this on our trip recently. I will post pics tomorrow for you. Totally brilliant day - would highly recommend it!

I read in this thread that you could call & request a different sandwich. Both of my kids would prefer just about any other sandwich to a pb&j uncrustable. When & who do I call to request a different sandwich? Our trip is between Christmas & New Year's.

I too would like an answer to this question - my daughter is a picky eater and will eat a peanut butter sandwich....but not if it has jelly in it - weird kid!! Anyway there's no way she'd eat the Pb&j uncrustable...

My DS did this for his 8th birthday. He loved it!! The CM's are very good at keeping tabs on everyone. And they wear life jackets. I think it was a good value....my DS came back with a ton of "loot"!
