Kid's Pirate Adventure

Thanks for the correction. Im sorry for that. It says in my guide book 10yrs, and I never even thought to ask when i called.

Also i'm going to eat while the kids are on the cruise too. I think its a great irdea. My bro is meeting us on the last leg of our trip. He lives in Chicago, so I dont see him much and when i do the kids usually try to steal him as much as possible.:lmao: So it will be nice to have a quiet breakfast with him, my
parents, and his partner.

Although it might be nice to just find a quiet place close to the bay/beach and relas with your hubby. Take in the scenery and just breathe without being rushed. :cutie:

OMG! I love the pirate bandannas pirate: that they get. :
Dont get your hopes up on the stripey hats with ears. From what I understand they may OR may not give those particular ones. (leaning on the may not part) When my DD did the albatross cruise in March she received a black bandana with white skulls and crossbones on it. Nothing special or Disney related and pretty much what I could get at Walmart for a dollar or 2. I knew not expect it to going into it so wasnt disappointed

Hi
, what one would be best for me, lol. Are any of these close to something hubby and I could do (besides eat) for the 2 hrs they will be gone?
The one at the Grand Floridian is close enuf to the MK if you dont mind using up a park day (AP's are a good thing here) OR You can take the time to explore the monorail resorts, they all have some pretty cool things to see that some kids tend to get bored with. Stop at the concierge desk and let them know the kids are on a cruise, what do they recommend to see at thier particular resort.

The one at the Yacht and Beach Club is a close enuf walk to EP that you can go head over to Future World for an hour-ish (again AP's pay off here) Remember that World Showcase will not be open yet but you may be able to keep an eye out for the kiddos when they cruise the lagoon there. Had I not been feeling horrid the day my DD did her's I would have got some fantastic shots. I did get great ones of them actually finding the treasure tho.
Right place, right time kinda thing.

It is sooo very hard to find out much about these cruises. The official site goes into NO detail whatsoever and as informative the unofficial internet boards and sitesare, even they dont have all the details. It is one of those poke and hope things. I suggest calling the marina directly and asking specifically what they do and hope for a chatty CM. LOL Mine liked to talk and I found out info but she WOULD NOT tell me where it stopped at the WS.:lmao: Eh, the kid had fun anyway.

Our son has gotten a different hat with each cruise. He got the black skull bandana last summer on the CBR cruise. He got the striped one in the photo the summer before that on the GF cruise. And the first year it was a red hate actually mounted on the felt form with ears.

After you've seen you kids off at the GF, be sure to hitch a boat to one of the other resorts. I got that photo on the way to breakfast at the Poly and they all "argggg" ed us as we went by.

ds went last sept at 4.5 on the albatross. He had a blast and I had a fab time on the boardwalk sipping tea and eating a pastry all by myself (I'm a single parent). We are looking forward to it again this year. I asked about the hats and was told that they were all doing the bandadas, but I only asked one cm, so who knows for sure.

No problem! For some reason, most of the Disney planning sites all say 4-10 but there is one-and I won't say the name cuz you never know if it's a violation or not- that lists the cruises as ages 4-12. This site, wdwinfo, I think shows it as 4-10. I sent them an email over a month ago notifying them of the correction but I haven't heard back. :confused3

Anywho, when in doubt, call and ask. They really do not tell you much about them on the disney website.

what # do you call to book? You have all conviced me! :thumbsup2

This looks cute. I've never heard of it before but I think my DS7 will love it. Besides ride the boat, what do they do on the cruise? Is there a treasure hunt or other pirate related activities?

As far as I know they go looking for treasure on the resort beaches and they have a packed lunch. I've booked DD for June but maybe someone else will know more?
Lx

if anyone has the # I need to call. Do you pay when you book?

Okay, we are totally "on Board" LOL with this pirate adventure! I have 3 more questions:

1) Can I send something different for my son to eat? He will NOT eat PB (I know the only child in the world, huh? lol)

2) Is there a website that has more info on these?

3) Do you book these 180 days out? Like ADRs?
Thanks, Dana

Since the boys go on their first pirate: cruise a week from today!!! :) I will post pics and find out all i can to post here for you all!

I dont know whos mores excited about their 2 hour trip as pirates me or them? :lmao:

Being from the Uk - my DD thinks the idea of PB and J is repulsive (and I am tending to agree here!) so I was told to call ahead to the GF and request an alternative sandwich. If I can't then I will sned her with something else but I have been assured its not a problem.

I have not found any info on a website. This thread is the most info I have seen.

I think they do open 180 days out but I really don't know. I booked mine with 180 to go but I don't now if they had been open for a while or not.

The grandkids have been on them at least a couple of different times. Yet, I was lucky enough to book them again for May 28--just last week!

Since our AP's expire May 26, and we won't actually enter parks May 27 or 28, this is perfect since we are staying at BCV and the Magical Express will be picking us for departure around 12:15 to 12:30 at the hotel. The pirate cruise ends at 11:30, so it is a perfect ending to our trip.

Just call wdw-dine and meke the ressie. They book 180 days out. You do need a credit card to make the reservation and I think that you have have to cancel 3 days in advance but I am not possitive about that. I also hear that you can request something different to eat. My DS6 HATES Uncrustables. He will eat a plain PB sandwhich though, so if they can't accomodate I will send one along. Can't wait. My son is soooooo looking forward to it. Just wish my youngest was old enough to go and then we could have some grown up time!!!

I was looking on the Disney web-site to find more info on the pirate adventures and I also saw they have a Grand Adventures in Cooking for kids up to 12 years old. my son loves to cook. Does anyone know anything else about this?
