Do our two girls under the age of 8 need any ID to get on the plane...we as adults need one photo ID is that right?
Have not flown in many many years.....

We just flew out of Buffalo. I showed my Canadian Passport and all they did with the kids was ask who they were as they were checking the boarding cards. We had no problems at all. My husband showed his drivers license. I have all 3 kids in my Passport and they did not check the page with their names on it. That's not to say they won't ask for id.

We got a passport when we did the Magic Eastern Cruise (2001) when my daughter was 6. I always bring ID for her - you never know when you may need it. Be an emergency or not it's good to have.

We were told that children under the age of 18 do not require ID. My daughter was 14 and I had her take her school ID just in case, but no one in Phila or Orlando asked for her ID

Prior to boarding one of our connecting flights in Charlotte, NC, they made an announcement that they DO NOT check ID's at the gate at Charlotte! I couldn't believe it, but, both ways, no one was asked for ID at the gate before getting on the plane.

they are no longer required to ask for ID at the gate at certain airports. to read more please see:

We've flown w/ our now 4.5 yo dd many times. She's never been asked for ID. I believe the law states only those 18 and older must show ID.

I think you'll be "safe" till the kids look like their close to 18.
