Kids Meal Quality

They will allow you to order from the children's menu, but will double the portion.

and also the price

If this is true...

I usually get the kids meal pasta at Plaza Inn & add a side salad.

My last trip I didn't spend more than $10 each per meal and most were less than that.

My favorite kids meal is the fried chicken meal at Plaza Inn too, and it's plenty for not so big eaters. I add a biscuit sometimes and it's the perfect size portion.

Then how can this be. Seems like there's some confusion about the ability to order kids meals at table service restaurants. So can you or can't you order kids meals at places like the Plaza Inn?

Plaza Inn is counter service, not table service. At counter service, anyone can order anything they want. At table service, there are age guidelines for ordering off the kids menu.

Are you sure the kid's meal chicken tenders are the same as the adult ones?

I know at WDW they are different at most places. I will not eat pressed chicken. If it's the same then a child's portion will be enough for me.

I shared all my adult CS meals with my niece when we went to WDW. 1/2 the adult portion was enough food for me. One time at AK my niece wanted a hot dog, I won't eat them so I ordered her a child's meal and I ordered myself a chicken tender meal (adult) and I couldn't finish it. We had so much food left over as we were use to sharing a meal.

Oh, thanks. I thought Plaza Inn was table service. It seemed strange since very few places anywhere allow adults to order off the kids menu for the kids price. This fried chicken is on my short list of things to try this trip.

It is more like cafeteria style than true counter I guess, but definitely not table. You grab a tray and take what you want. Then pay at the end and find your own table. Now that I think about it, River Belle Terrace is the same way.

I believe the reason for not ordering the kids meal at table service might have to do with tips and making it worthwhile for the servers. I can't go to Cheesecake Factory and order off the kids menu either.
