Kids Height Restrictions

Do the parks have a central location where your kids can get measured to find out what rides they can ride? I know Six Flags has a wrist band for the kids showing that they are tall enough - that way they don't have to get measured everytime.

My son's going to be really close the 40" - he's just over 38 without shoes on and due for a growth spurt. I know he'd love the rides!!

Also, is there a list somewhere of the height restrictions?

There are measuring areas outside of the rides with height restrictions (usually from 40 to 48 inches). I think they are a little out of wack though. Our dd6 was 46 inches the last time we went and was turned away from rides. Our dd was always daring too and was turned away from rides I knew she would love on our first trip at age 3. The following year we brought shoes w/ about a 2 inch heel to get her on, I guess you can't do that w/ a boy! They seem to care if you use fat shoes! This past January we didn't bother b/c she was 46 inches but we got booted off some rides!! And they were really checking. We tried 3 or 4 different times w/ different CMs to get on rock n roll rollercoster and we constantly got turned away (we even made it all the way inside once.) My best suggestion is to get a pair of sketchers w/ a thick sole because they do check and like I said I think they measure a little large. Good luck!

They did a trial run of wristbands a little while ago, but unfortunately they didn't continue them. My son was 40.5" when we last went, and he was checked everytime. Since we knew ahead of time which ones he was to short for so we could avoid them, he wasn't turned away from a single ride.
