Here are 2 bracelets we got in the mail today! :thumbsup2 One is to match DDs Animal Kingdom outfit and the other is for her Minnie sets. ::MinnieMo The pictures don't really do them justice - I think they turned out cute.

I would love to make a simple twirl skirt (if there is such a thing) - but just not sure i totally understand the directions or have the ability to sew that "gathery way" - im good at straight lines - lol

thanks - didnt see them at my walmart - but will try the other stores!! they are sooo cute!! i would just love 2 of those red ones!!! i think they would go perfect, do you?

how do you think i would attach them?

The outfit is adorable. I think the red would be perfect too. I think I would try hot glueing them maybe.

cool - i will check walmart again, there are 3 not too far away from me so i'll check 'em all if i have to!!!!! lol!!!!

would you hot glue them directly to the ribbon?

also, i got some ribbon fray stuff - im not sure i like how it changed the ribbons color - i got the kind from Joann's and its in a glue bottle,,,,anything better????

The fray check I used has never changed the color of the ribbon. Did you just put it on the ends? I dab the fray check on the edges with a q-tip.

Also, for the Mickey heads -- I got mine at JoAnn's over a year ago (they were in the clearance section). I use them for the center of my DD's hair bows.

I sew them on to the center ribbon.

Now that it has dried some, is it any better? Does it just look wet? My tube of "fray block" says to wait for 24 hours before washing or wearing. Maybe you should just wait for a while to let it "cure." Anybody else?

Yes, once it dries it will look different.

Anyone have a Christmas Princess outfit or dress they'd like to share? I'm looking for ideas for dd6 & dd8, we're surprising them with a trip to BBB before we go to MVMCP and not sure what to bring for them to wear.
Thanks!

It's not a Princess dress, (although my daughter was treated like a Princess wearing this outfit;) ) but it is Christmas. It might help to give you an idea to wear in the parks around Christams time.

This is just too cute!!

Hello Everyone!
I found this thread this past weekend and loved all the cute outfits. We are leaving in 11 days which didn't give me much time, but I tried to make some T's for our day at Animal Kingdom. I used lime green T's and fabric, ribbon and safari animals I found at Michael's Craft store. I also made several sets of hairbows to go with different outfits during the week for my two littlest girls. Thanks everyone for your great ideas. :thumbsup2 :cool1: Here are some pics:

P.S.
Did you find the hidden Mickeys on the T and hairbows? They were cute Mickey buttons intended for scrapbooking but I couldn't resist and put them on the bows and T's. ;)

Very nice for your first ones!! My first ones were copies of someone else's on here, so congrats on coming up with your own layout!! Also, I love the Hidden Mickeys!

I love this too!!! I was just going through my stuff thinking I had nothing for our trip at Christmas...just summer-type fabrics. Can I ask what pattern you used? It is just beautiful!!!

i LOVE this! do you have a pattern? the bottom of the top almost looks like a twirl skirt.

Castle Creations,

I must ask... Do you use a pleater (used in smocking) to do the shirring? I am currently smocking a dress for dd and wondered if this was how you did this?
Smocking a dress is a little different than the shirring. For the shirring, I use an elastic thread in my bobbin, and when you sew across the top with a long straight stitch, it shirrs the fabric. With smocking, you will need the pleater. I have thought about smocking, but I decided it was too hard for me. :lmao:

WOW

So many of the last pics are darling!

I love the modeled outfits that I too recognized from Castle Creations, the hair bows, and "first attempts" are great, the bracelts of Minnie and Safarri are super cute, and I love the Christmas twirl dress! So nice that it can be used for Disney, but also at home too. That is my favorite style of dress that seems to be used in a lot of custom outfits!

As I was posting these photos, I'm thinking whew...he's done, finally. Now I noticed that his socks are missing the red and blue stripes. :sad2: I guess I'm not done, after all
and his little dots on his cheeks...
Anyway I made a simple twirl skirt, and the halter has a shirred back. I like this style because it's a little more form fitting. The halter, came out okay. It looks like it's missing something.

I think it's darling! But if you think it's missing a "little something" how about some scattered bubbles or jellyfish? Or maybe some other little thing from the pattern in the skirt?

ahh, ha! I am going to have to try that. I have never looked for "elastic thread" I think it fits so cute that way.

I love smocking, it is time consuming, but I enjoy pleating the fabric, and then smocking on top of it. I am still working on dd's easter dress:lmao:
In my defense, it is quite elaborate.

Thanks for the tip

I am really loving the Walmart dresses. Beautiful!

Also, I know places like youcanmakethis.com sell patterns... is that what you ebay sellers use? I just want to make sets for my kids and not sell them. I sell other stuff on ebay. ;)

Gee, I feel invisible today (lol)... no one answered my question.

That's okay... I went to another site and they answered my questions.

Keep up the great work, everyone... beautiful work!
