I haven't accepted Sam yet. Greg will always be the yellow Wiggle. ;)

I'm planning the girls special custom Wiggles outfits for the show! Mytwotinks is working on it with me. :)

I miss the Wiggles. DD was SO into them this time last year, but she's outgrown them I guess. :( Nowadays its Wonder Pets and Thomas the Train.
Here's her outfit my MIL made her for the Wiggles concert. I pulled it out of a box, so it needs a little ironing, but I think you get the idea. I was surprised how many kids weren't in Wiggles attire at the show! I guess we are the only over-the-top moms around! ;)

That line in bold made me laugh. It is true! :rotfl:

That is a cute outfit! Your MIL did a great job. :)

Just wanted to add that I'd love to see "custom" made Disney outfits!!! I found the above outfits on ebay(for a great price), but I'd love to find some more:)

Those outfits are the cutest! (Love the Gymbo too....:goodvibes ...I am a gymbo fanatic!)

HMMM!!! That's got me thinking!! Where did you find the Dorothy for the front? Too cute!

We have tickets to see them in August...I might have to copy this! (if I ever have time! between a 2 yo, work, house, & hubby)

I've been reading this thread for quite sometime. Love It.
I have a boy and no girls, yet you all inspired me, so I made this for myself. I love this Pooh Toile.

This is the first sewing project I've done since Jr. High in Home Ec.
It took me quite some time, bumbling through the pattern and instructions. But I did it!
Now I need to figure out what to do next!!! I really enjoyed making this!

Thank you again to all of you for the inspiration. :goodvibes

Hi Lily!

Nope, I don't make the necklaces either....I will PM for the shoes and necklaces.

Those shoes are adorable....wish I had the talent to draw that well, they wouldn't be hard....but alas, I can't even draw recognizable stick figures, lol.

Could you PM me with your ebay contacts too, please!?

I have a question about the shoes....love those canvas numbers because they're so easy to wash and keep semi-white....but can you do that with the paint on them? I'd hate to spend a small fortune for the painted shoes and then botch them up by trying to wash away the dirt and dust. We're in Arizona so we have a LOT of dirt and dust, lol.

Here's a few more pieces I found hiding in my daugther's closet...:rotfl:

Alice fringe bracelet for her Alice in Wonderland outfit:

Snow White bracelet and necklace:

Oh my, these are so cool....ok, gotta have your connections for the clay figures too, pretty please. Or wait....maybe instead I could just come over and stand at your shoulder while you cruise ebay?

currently here in baltimore, walmarts are still selling fabric (i made my ds pjs from the beige car fabric), and they usually have pretty good selection- but anyway, ive heard rumor that walmart (i guess meaning all) will eventually stop selling fabric (and hunting/fishing stuff too). just a rumor i heard, and my seamstress cousin heard too (in virginia). but hopefully we'll get some warning and some good deals on fabric!:)

I have a friend who is a general manager of Walmart and yes, the plan is a five year plan to remodel all of the stores and do away with the fabric department and most of the craft department as well. BUT......they have been getting a LOT of letters and phone calls complaining about the loss of fabric department and are reconsidering! So if you don't want your Walmart to stop carrying fabric, get on the phone to the Walmart headquarters and tell them to stop! According to my friend it probably won't save those that have already been remodeled but the ones that aren't yet could be reworked. His store isn't scheduled until 2009, so we have a bit of time to fight, lol.

Jen--

When you adhere something to a shoe, you normally have to prep it first with a primer, otherwise whatever you're putting on it will fall off (almost as if you were painting the shoe)

I believe you can find any type of primer or stripper in a craft store.

Good luck!

Hmmm, so you have to prime the shoe before painting? Any idea what you use to prime it (brand name or name of product?) I was thinking of letting the girls paint their own designs (they draw much better than I do, lol)

Do you also need to put something on top of the design to keep it from coming off??

Thanks for the help!

Linda, that is georgous. White...you are very brave. Though I have a boy so that maybe why it stood out. :rotfl:

mytwotinks, cute June outfit. I can't stand June and even I think it is cute. Yeah, I know I am weird, I don't like Trina from JoJo either. :lmao:

I have two very girly girls, but I still can't imagine putting them in white....and they're 10 years old! When they were younger even dark colors didn't stand a chance, lol.

Mono~rail - the girls look adorable in their dresses!!!! I love the little mermaid dresses. I am going to have to look for that fabric. Drew loves purple and Ariel, so I know that would be a hit at my house. The purple ribbon you used on that looks great.

We bought that purple Ariel fabric at Walmart....only there isn't any left in OUR walmart...because my daughter made me buy all that was left on the bolt. "Oh mom, it's Ariel, and you know you'll figure out SOMETHING to do with it". Sheesh, what an enabler.

Thank heavens they didn't have any Belle fabric, or the entire month's grocery budget would have been out the door.

I made Drew this June outfit to wear to our Playhouse Disney breakfast. When we got there Leo made a big deal and wanted Drew to lead the parade! I was so excited but she freaked out. She didn't even want to leave the dress on and I had to promise her that no one would notice. She took off the headband and the red shoes and was doing great till Ron Stopable made a huge fuss over "little June." She freaked again!!! We had to go back to the room and change before she would do anything else. She told me while she was changing that she had been afraid that the other kids would think she was the real June and try to get her autograph!!!!! Isn't it funny how their little minds work!

That is so cute! My DD would love that dress, although she wants just about every out fit I showed her on here.

My MIL actually pieced it together by hand. I guess its pretty simple lines, and I think she used white rick rack for her teeth. The Wiggles yellow "bubble" on the back we cut from a pillowcase and then just stitched around. :)

I finally get to contribute. I can't sew (although I really want to learn). I bough these off of ebay and love them. Sorry the pictures aren't great. It's hard to get an 11 month old to stay still :lmao:

Hi Everyone,

I found this thread last night and I stayed up till the wee hours trying to read it through. (I am about half way at this point!):goodvibes

All I can think of is the TV show, "Pimp my Ride" or the term a tricked out car...I want to make me some tricked out Walmart overalls! :lmao:

I am so excited to try to make one of these sweet outfits...I need some hand holding though. I do have some sewing experience (Have made Easy clothing before and I can make curtains...) I have a 20 year old sewing machine that will just not cut it anymore.

First, I want to buy a new machine anyway. What do you recommend? I want to make appliques and I want a machine that will be a help to me rather than a problem to figure out. Any ideas? I have never done appliques...Are they hard to do?

Is there somewhere where I can find a pattern or directions on how to enhance the overalls? I don't think I can figure out how much fabric I will need, especially how to do the ruffles. Has someone here written any directions? Can someone PM me with info if I need to buy it.

I saw a few people made pillow case dresses. Can you make a swing top from that pattern? How do you find directions on how to do it.

Thanks for any help! I have 3 little ones (6,4, and 14 mos) and I would love to do this for our upcoming trip in October. I really haven't sewed since I have had kids so I am feeling rather rusty.

Oh and hello to the GR ladies. I used to be on that when they first started. Then I was on GH and now I am on Gymbofriends.:thumbsup2 I always dress my kids in matching Gymbo at Disney. something like this will be so cute!

Thanks to all! :yay:
Jean

Does Joann Fabric carry the red or pink polka dot fabric?

I'm so excited! I scored another Belle outfit on Ebay this morning. It will be 3-4 weeks before I get it but I will definitely post pictures.;)

When does it end?!?!:rotfl:
