Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes

My kids are in a uniformed public school, also, and Brianna only wants to wear dresses I make. I ended up contacting the school, and askingif I could make he jumpers, and how strict they were about the uniforms. I don't know about Riley's school, but Brianna's is pretty lenient as long as the colors are right. I ended up having to make about 9 jumpers. The two I had bought, I embroidered with navy princesses on the Navy Jumper....she'll wear them sometimes.

Good luck. I don't know how bad things would be if Brianna couldn't wear her customs to school.
My DGDs here in Virginia go to a Catholic Elementary school...only THE UNIFORM is allowed...that is why I personally think it's pretty darn funny!! My DGDs that live in Florida (Alikat99's girls, Emily and Maddie) go to a Lutheran school with uniforms but they can wear "regular" clothes on Fridaysin the grades K-8. Maybe I'll get the key to the front door to my office building come Sept. and that way I can go to work REALLY EARLY....:lmao: :lmao: The REALLY FUNNY PART is that Riley is exactly the same personality, stubborness, control freak, etc. that her Mom (my youngest daughter) is...What goes around, comes around...The Mother's Curse....:lmao: Nana

One of my DGD wore one of my first custom outfits to a Festival and came back very indignant(sp?). She told me that her Daddy tried to "sell" her outfit three times that day and she would have had to come home NAKIT!!!

From then on anytime she puts on one of my customs (my DGDs are my primary models so I make the prototypes in their sizes) she wags her finger at her Daddy and tells him he can't "sell" it while she is wearing it.

Well, no wonder! How cute is that! I've passed that fabric up so many times, I can't even count. Now I'm gonna have to get it so I can make this outfit.

Hi - this outfit is soooooo cute!! what pattern did you use? this material is on clearance at my walmart (disconinuing the fabric department) and I think i want to make this for my DN Hannah!! she would flip!!

Does anyone have a simple plain jumper pattern? I found this "tiki pooh" panel at joann's on clearance, and I was thinking of using the characters as appliques - they are big, but i still think at least part of it would work!!!

thanks, wendy

There is an A-line jumper on youcanmakethis.com It's a very simple pattern.

OOOHH!!!! WAY ON TOPIC!!!! I found a peasant top that I'd cut out of Faeries material(leftovers from my FQ swap) before christmas. I am working on it NOW.

...t.

OOH! I can't wait to see!

Ok, my Cinderella pillowcase dress is just about finished. I've just gotta attach the skirt to the bodice, and do the button/buttonholes. AND, of course, go get the diamond button to add to the bottom of the headband. Not much longer, and I'll have actual proof that I've actually been doing something! :rotfl2:

I'm trying to catch up on the threads...

TadaMom; what a beautiful family you have!

Nanascustomcreations; your outfit and DGD are just adorable. Poor thing; I'm glad her daddy didn't sell her clothes leaving her nakit. LOL!! Write those expressions down because they are worth a million laughs when she learns to correctly pronounce words.

I'd love to see any lounge pants that anyone has made. :goodvibes

Not sure what you mean by lounge pants. I made these using the easy pants pattern on ycmt.

That is too funny! I'm so excited right now because I have some of that fabric, but I haven't made anything out of it because I didn't want it to look to "boyish". Your outfit is certainly not for a boy! Thanks for sharing! :)

Hi everyone,

Im so excited :cheer2: . I just got a pillowcase in the mail that i brought off :wizard:. It was sent over from the states and i am so happy with it that i wanted to share a picture. I brought the pillowcase just mainly to use belles face and the rose on a dress but auroras faces is quite pretty so i am going to do a dress with her as well. Next to Belle is some fabric ( musk pink and pale pink with muck pink roses) i brought last week which i thought matched really well. The package that the pillowcase came in had a barcode from 'KOHLS' on it. Cinderella is on the other side.

I haven't ironed it yet, i pulled it straight out of the package to take a photo to show you all.

Both of the princesses are really pretty. We have a Kohls nearby...I wonder if they have any left...LOL

Sorry everyone I had a looong multiquote going on but then the computer said the page went down and had to be reloaded and WHATEVER! Anyway, people are very rude, it amazes me at the audacity of some of these people! However some people are just plain DUMB! People ask my daughter all the time where she gets her curly hair! HELLO I have curly hair!!:confused3 But anytime she is asked she always tells them" that's just the way God made me" They usually feel pretty dumb at this point!:rotfl: I have seen some really great outfits and cakes posted! Good job everyone and please don't leave your children "NAKIT":rotfl: When we were at Disney back in November we got stopped all day everyday asking where we got there outfits! At the AK there were a group of performers outside of the Lion King show singing Christmas songs! Two of the girls in the group stopped singing, walked off stage and asked my husband where we got there dresses! You could definitely sell them there! So make sure to bring extras!:rotfl:

OOOHHHHH I love this! I need to make a trip to kohl's!

Here is a picture of the dress I made yesterday for Mayme. I still have to put some buttons on, but I can't decide what color to use. What do you think?

maymedress1.jpg

Here she is trying out the twirl factor!

maymedress2.jpg

She HATES for me to dry her hair, so unless we are going somewhere, that's a battle I choose not to have...therefore, she has wet hair in these pics! I also want to make some pants to go with it in case it is cool when we are there. BTW...only 20 days to go!!!:yay:  :cheer2:

Also, I don't know that this is the shirt she will wear under the jumper. I guess it depends on the weather.

I was checking out this thread today and saw this adorable dress. Hours later I was at our local Joann's and saw this fabric. It is much cuter as a dress than on the bolt. Great Job.

Thanks for all the compliments on my family -- I think we look pretty good (most of the time). This picture was made Easter 2005 and Parker was only 3 months old -- she's 3 years old now!!! I got update my family photo!!

I finished the outfit. The skirt wasn't as bad as the top! Now, I have to make DD6's outfit. I am going to make her's slightly different.

I don't have a Kohl's. :(

I like the way Belle looks on this one. I can't wait to see what you make.

The jumper that was posted yesterday (or today - they all run together) that had the 2 princesses and had pinks and purples made me want to make another one. I have 2 princesses left over from the pillowcase I used to make my Cindy jumper and I was just going to hold on to them, but I like how the 2 princesses were on the bib. I think mine are bigger, but maybe I can do one on the front and one on the back.

Thanks! I can't believe that you found it in a store. I paid way too much for it, but I HAD to have it. I've told y'all...I get obsessed with things (usually fabric and/or patterns) and I can't stop until I find them or make them. Sometimes that's good, sometimes that's bad. Now I'm wondering if I need to make a phone call to a Joann's in Vermont to get more. :)

Personally, I think it would look better with a red/white dot ruffle. I'm not a fan of the ribbon trim.

I'm a beginner sewer, do you ladies think this is an outfit I could attempt? Really not so much the top as the pants? I loved the embellished overalls etc, is this relative easy to do? Any and all tips appreciated! THANKS

I SO need to buy a pillowcase to make one of these dresses (or 2 since I have 2 DDs). Then I'll need some matching fabric, a bit of rick rack, maybe lace and other miscellaneous trim. Oh, yes, and I can't forget the earring button!

Thank you! This pattern lends itself very easily to a lot of different fabrics. But really just about any fabric turns "girly" looking when you add ruffles and JUMBO Ric Rac...Love that Ric Rac..it makes a nice transition to the ruffle, nice contrast and the ALL IMPORTANT coverage of "wonky" topstitching. :lmao: Nana
