Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I am so jealous of Teresa and Heather, who seem to remember not only the posters but the names of all the kids, too. Everyone should be required to repeat their name and their kids's name when they post (if they want to). That would help me a lot!

Hey, I love your princess castle for the top bunk. I should have thought of that for my son's bunk bed. We got it when he was three and he was finally allowed to go up there last year!

Thanks to everyone who complimented me on the dress and hat. It's the first thing I CASEd (from Jham) that turned out exactly like I pictured it! I sent an e-mail to my friend asking if I could make one for her and she told me her daughter was sick of her hair falling out so they just shaved it off. So now I get to make another one, hopefully it won't take as many mess-ups!

I'll catch up reading tomorrow (yawn). Have a good night everyone and get packing Jham! Heather, your birdie looks beautiful!

I agree, I always forget kids names! I hate to offend by not using them but my mind is very leaky!

Ok. I have a question for those of you that have a ruffler foot. When you are making a jumper - either stripwork or like the polka dotted one I made - do you ruffle the skirt or just do the basting stitches and gather it? I did the basting stitches on the one I made, but I'm getting ready to put together a stripwork jumper this weekend and I was thinking the ruffler foot may be faster. I just don't know.

Since I teach school (kindergarten) and I'm finishing up my master's this semester and I rep a children's clothing line, the only time I have to sew is in the middle of the night or the weekend. So...here's to a 3 day weekend!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: I hope to get a lot done for our trip that is in 15 days!!!

Just curious, what do you mean you reap a children's clothing line? I am addicted to children's clothes so this sparked my curiousity!

Heather, somehow I lost the quote but I love your Cinderella bird! Fantastic, I can't wait to see the whole dress. As I was looking at the page Grace saw the bird and says, hey, that's from Cinderella. Of course she also wanted everything she saw too!

I made some clippies last night. Tessa was fascinated with the process and practically sat on top of me while I tried to do it. The Little Mermaid one looks a little wonky. I didn't have the right colors of ribbon and I used too wide a ribbon to cover the clippie. Plus, it was my first attempt. I really like how the Cinderella one turned out. Tessa is just thrilled with both of them!

Love these!

Hi everyone! I haven't been on here in forever, but I just spent a few minutes looking and there is some terrific stuff!

My youngest daughter turned 6 Wednesday and we are having her party Saturday and hopefully after that I'll get some time to sew!

We may be taking my nieces (21 and 24) to Disney with us on a girls trip and I already told them that each of us will have a Minnie Dot outfit to wear to the magic Kingdom. I think that they thought I was kidding. Won't they be surprised!

I have a few new things done, but my computer is running slower than cold syrup so I don't think that I can get them posted. Hopefully we will get that all worked out soon and I can join back in!

Please send pictures of your nieces in the Minnie Dot outfits! I love the idea of it - maybe even get a picture of them when you hand them to them! Cute!

And, don't forget to get their pictures with Minnie's sewing machine!!!

I lost a bunch of quotes, why does that happen? Uggh, I'm sorry if I missed anyone, it wasn't personal! Blame it on the server!

I swear this post was NOT there when I posted the last few times. How weird is that?! The Cinderella link is in the bookmarks, but it wasn't working. I think I fixed it, so if you want to find it later on you can.
Here's the direct links:
http://hipgirlclips.com/forums/1st-instruction-contest/2673-cinderella-instructions.html
There are also instructions to make Ariel, Jasmine, and Mulan on there. The Mulan is really cute!
Ariel: http://hipgirlclips.com/forums/1st-instruction-contest/2696-little-mermaid-instructions.html
Mulan: http://hipgirlclips.com/forums/1st-instruction-contest/2790-mulan-instructions.html
Jasmine: http://hipgirlclips.com/forums/1st-instruction-contest/2748-jasmine-mulan.html

I think they're all in the bookmarks now under "Hair Things", "Bows and Ribbon Things"

Thanks so much...I've saved it to my favorites, so I can always find it. I will definately try to make these. They would dress up any Disney outfit.

Started ironing and planning outfits today, adn got overwhelmed by the basement chaos. Anyone want to come over and help me clean? I'll pay in fabric. :)

Brianna is doing BBB on the Wednesday we are there, right before CRT. She insists on getting/wearing a store-bought costume. I feel betrayed. I asked her why she didn't want to wear the Cindy dress I made and she said "It's too nice, Mommy". Ok, Feel better.

For Spencer, I was going to embroider characters onto Tee shirts and make basic shorts out of the same character fabric. Would this look too pajama-ey??

And my name and all kids names and ages are in my siggie. Just for yous guys. :)

I haven't posted on here in a long time. I've mostly bought stuff and hand sewn a few things but DH got me the Brother Disney machine for Christmas! I've been having fun with it and will hopefully get to finish a few things this weekend.

Just wanted to give a heads up - I was at Meijer tonight and they have a clearance section on the endcap at the back of the sewing/yarn aisle. They had elastic thread marked down to .68 and then it ended up scanning at .44. I think I'm going to try shirring this weekend. :)

I love all of the stuff on here and will hopefully have something to post soon.

You need to change the name of your pictures back to their original names (the ones you posted), or change your original post to the new links. If you only change your post to the new links though, I'm pretty sure all of the quotes will still have the wrong pictures, unless you change the name of those, in which case they will be red xs. I hope that made sense!

AGH! No idea how that happened or what I did....yikes! I changed the pics in my post but they're still wrong throughout the thread....DANGIT!!!
Thanks for your help!!
I just have NOOO idea what I'm doing!!! YIKEs!!!:scared1:

I'm going to re post these pics since I messed something up in my photobucket account...YIKES! NO idea what I'm doing....sorry!

WOO HOO!!! Stopped at Jo-Annes and got mine today! Someone said their store didn't have it. Well, I had to hunt for it. They didn't have them together. I loved the price, so I saved my coupons. I did get some camo style skull fabric. Pink for Kirsta and the green for my DN. They look cute at matchy matchy. Couldn't find any cute little boys patterns tho'. haha!

Anyone know when pixiedust in AK (Amy, sorry, not sure I spelled it right) was coming back or if she was back yet? Just hadn't heard from her and was wondering. I know her trip was goin to be pretty long!

Does anyone know what font this is or where I can get it for the word Minnie? I think these are Deann's creations. I think there are more that have used it just digging through the old pictures! Thanks! I can probably do it from the picture if I have to.

I can't wait to see yours too! Does someone want to come over and teach me how to use the glue gun????

I think it depends on what type of fabric you have. if it is going to look pajamaish. But, if he likes it, I say go for it!

Yesterday, I changed the girls BBB reservations to the CASTLE!!! I was GIDDY!!!!! We had origianally only planned on going to the parks for a few days, so we were doing it at Downtown Disney, but then we decided to get 10 day passes, so I thought it would be fun to do it right in the park. The girls are really excited too! Then, we are eating at the Grand Floridian for supper.

When you rename or move pictures in Photobucket, it messes up your links. Could that be it? Anyway, it doesn't matter, because we get to see the pictures again!!!!

She got back a week or so ago. I was thinking of PMing her, since I hadn't heard from her in awhile though. I told her to let me know when she wanted to take over the Photobucket account again, but hadn't heard from her yet. I don't mind doing it, but I am starting to get concerned about her! The baby is due fairly soon, so she's probably just busy getting ready.

I'm getting this machine next weekend. Let me know how easy or hard it is to use.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking, that she should be back. I just wanted to make sure all was okay.

We almost always go to disney WORLD in May and i actually thought we would be there when you guys were, but then I decided to go the other route, we are going to the world in Sept for a week, bounceback from last year.

Thanks for the heads up on Meijer!!! Where are you?

And, I can't wait to see what you sew with your new machine!!!

Oswego, IL - currently the land of snow, sleet and ice. Soon to be the land of subzero temps before wind chill factors.

I can't wait to see what I sew too! :rotfl: A couple of our plans got canceled for the weekend :cheer2: , so I will be sewing.

I know I haven't posted in awhile, but have been extra busy at work, so my "free" time has been limited.

I have been working on Easter though.

Someone had mentioned halter style dress with patchwork? Well, just by coinkydink, that is what I have been working on!

I don't know why my camera is all wonky!?! I think my princess has been playing photographer!

I plan on making a matching pair of pants. Just have to find the time.

Guess it's good that I have a little while before Easter gets here!

Well, I figured out the stitch for appliqueing on my machine:) So here is my finished project. It is a little sloppy, but hey... it's my first time;)

now I have to figure out what kind of top I want to make for it.

i also made these a couple of weeks ago and haven't gotten around to posting them.
The twirl skirt needs a top too, but I need to buy more fabric because I used every last bit...

And this was just a project to cover up some ripped jeans:)

Excellent job on the appliques!! BTW where did you get the cute black fabric with the white little flowers? Nana

My sister-in-law lives in Naperville, you guys are practically neighbors!

We were suppose to get some nasty weather here this evening, but so far it hasn't hit yet. Is it on it's way? We are about 3 hours 20 minutes east of you!
