Adorable outfits and dd!! Love them all!

I don't do well withthe reminders either, but the '15 minutes' thing is starting to sink in well. I do feel much more at peace with the world when my kitchen is clean (well, at least straightened up). I HATE to really clean so for me it's more that I need the help with you can do it a little at a time & it's still ok. I blame being forced to spend every Saturday morning cleaning house growing up. Yes, it was good, but then when I got married & dh refused to spend his Saturday morning cleaning or watching me clean before we could go do anything, I didn't know what to do or when to clean.

Oh, dear. Just remember that This is was a magical moment. This precious child had no physical imparments that kept her from throwing a temper tantrum, yup, one of God's miracles right there. You are SOO lucky! It's all about perspective:wizard:

Wow...all the way from Malaysia? That's where I am originally from and I guess I should get my friends there to hunt down some Mickey Mouse/Disney fabrics?

all of us sewers would love you to pieces if you could get some for all of us. hehe. I ordered and it took 3 weeks to get here with the mail system, but they are cute! The fabric from there is a little thinner than the ones here

i think when she gets home from school i may have to tweak it a bit ,she is wearing white leggings underneath it but i think it is a bit big on her ...
i think i created a fashion designer.:rolleyes1 she came home yesterday and had a new idea for an outfit she wants me to make . :rotfl:
i am starting to teach her how to sew because she is driving me insane with her curiosity.. which in a way i am flattered.

HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH

:rotfl2: Aww, I think we have all been there!

T: I totally get the perfectionism thing. I have trouble starting projects because once I start I cannot rest until it is done. I once spent every waking moment (when I wasn't taking care of the kids) catching up my scrapbooks. I could not stop until they were all caught up. That was a year and a half ago and that was the last time they've been touched! I haven't checked out that fly-lady, I am interested in the 15 minute thing, that sounds cool. I often will not start something because I only have minutes until I have to do something else. Of course, spending so much time here does not help!

Hi everyone! Just checking in for a minute! I have yet to catch up from being at Disney and don't think I will ever catch up!

Love all of JoJo's outfits! They are FANTASTIC and she is sooo cute!

Spongemommie-your daughter is sooo talented! She should be a designer that looks great!

I hope that maybe after all of the holiday RUSH and CRAZINESS I can get back to normal! I still have not posted any trip pics and I have only made 1 yes I said 1 christmas stripwork dress for DD4. She is going to wear it on Thursday for her school christmas assembly. So I should have pics to post of it then! I am hoping that yesterday was the last day of working from 4:30am until 9:00pm for my DH! If so I should be able to get some things done, because I will no longer be taking care of the kiddos alone! YEAH!   Well, enough rambling my DD4 has been yelling mommy for the past 5 minutes so I guess I need to see what she needs!

I had the SAME saturday routine growing up. My DH is like, if we just keep up with the house during the week then we don't have to do this anymore. DUH!! That is one thing that when the system is working for me REALLY works. If everything is caught up then the weekly home blessing hour on Fri. get split between DS, DH and myself and is done lickety split.
Someday I'll learn and I'll get it under control, although I've been saying that for YEARS!!!

The thread about the tree swap is under the DVC forum. How it worked is this....someone would donate a tree no larger than 4 feet tall and ship it to the resort. Anyone could sign up for the trees at each resort with the dates of their vacation...first come, first served. Most of the DVC resorts had 4 trees donated. We were at SSR and we picked up a tree with our name on it at the luggage area....each name was written on the outside of the box with the dates. As each family had the tree, they crossed off their name and returned it to the luggage area for the next family. Our tree was pre lit. There was a second small box with ornaments and lights to hang on the balcony. The owner of the tree enclosed an envelope and we each donated $5 so that at the end, the last family would ship the tree back to the owner.
It was well organized and really nice.
I will post pictures when I get home. I am so exhausted! Chasing a 3 year old around the Bone Yard in Dinoland is tiring! up and down those steps...I could sleep for a week!

T.... your talk about perfectionism suits me to a tee.

It's as if you were describing me.

I really need to work on controlling it.

My wife hates it when I decide to clean, she says that it takes me forever to do one room. It is only because I go over everything. Things that you would never see. Closets, cabinets, windows (sils and ledges) baseboards, nooks and crannys. EVERYTHING!

I too would rather live in disarray then have to takle a big project. I know that I just can't give it a "Lick and a promise" (my mother used to always say that.

As far as sewing goes, I just finished a Christmas outfit, that came out way too big for Leigh. Instead of trying to fix it, I threw it in the trash. Lets see, more hours of my time wasted for nothing.

I haven't even put out my outside Christmas decorations yet, because I just can't put a little out, but I have to go to the extreme and do it all. I would rather do nothing, than only half way do something.

I really need to work on this "problem" that I have!

well since we seem to have a plethora of perfectionists around her you all might like to know that the guy who wrote the book I was looking at but NOT reading says that perfectionist adults were likely children who felt like they had to perform or prove themselves in order to gain approval from parents and authority figures. Also it says that the need to be perfect brings with it a HIGH SESITIVITY TO FAILURE hence your trashing you sewing or my throwing away endless hours of knitting;)
there should be a 12 step program or a recovery group for this...:rotfl:

I have searched for 2 hours for a pattern that I want to use! I think I have to go out and buy another one!! UUUGGGGHHHHHHHH. Now all my sewing area is completly clean, I guess that is something!!
Lori

Ok, here it is. I was going to tell you that I plan on making a ribbon to match and don't mind the blue one but then I remembered this is a doll and I am insane!

And to prove that I really have a problem, here is the peasant top I made for the doll. I am not quite sure why it needed a bell appliquéd on it, but it did!

Side note: isn't the hair the prettiest color? I think it really looks like Megan's!

Don't worry it'll be back to it's normal state of disarray as soon as you sit down to work on something. Maybe that pattern'll show up if you stop looking for it.

Sounds like me too, I always criticize myself at the end of my projects. Like the curtains in my kitchen. I couldn't tell which side of the fabric was the wrong side. Both sides were perfect. THey are lined with white fabric and have fringe on them. I hate them because I went back to the store and then I figured out I sewed them wrong. I get a lot of complements on them but I hate them because I know about the mistake I made. DH says no one but you knows, so don't worry about it. What is the name of the book?

I love the doll and her clothes. I am going to get my DD an American Girl Doll. She wants one of the ones that look like her. I hope to make her a few outfits and my sister is making her a swim suit.

I belong to a bunch of groups on Yahoo. Someone asked for sites that had appliqued/embroidered "mouse ears". Here are a few samples from a seller on "the site that shall not be named". If anyone wants the name, email me and I'll pass it on.
