Ohhhh this is soooo cute!!! Every Tuesday my DD9 and her friend (just turned 10) and I get together to sew. Well tonight we made little turkey pins inspired by your ohhhhsooooocuttteee turkey shirt you made for Sawyer. (Oh and my DH was just drooling over your three car garage )

Aw, thank you! How cool that you made little turkeys in honor of my little turkey! Tell your DH all he has to do to have a garage like that is build it! My wondefully talented husband has built our last 3 houses himself. He is really amazing!! I think we'll stay in this one for a while since it's right next door to my mom!!

Someone asked for an up close shot of the turkey applique...couldn't get the camera to cooperate w/the computer, so I just scanned it (color isn't quite true). REMEMBER...this was essentially my first applique - - curves are a booger aren't they?! I guess you just get better w/practice huh?
Not really in love with the "blank" spot on the yellow but I'm not sure what to put there?

WOW!! That's fantastic!! I can't imagine how difficult that was with all the curves and things. That was quite a complicated design for your first try and you did an excellent job!

I'm absolutley exhausted but I just had to get online and say a HUGE THANK YOU!!! to everyone who sent a little something to Miss Ireland. I got the mail this evening, right before she went to bed. She was so happy, she was jumping up and down. I'm sure you all don't know,, but she doesn't have a father in her life, and her only other relative that shows her any attention, other than me, is my mother, and she's the one who let her ride her bike unsupervised...do you see where I'm going with this?... So she has never received any mail before that was just for her. She is over the moon. She has all of the cards in the envelopes, under her pillow.

Aw, I got all teary-eyed reading this. Ireland looks so sweet in her pictures that we just love her over here. So, Tessa had to draw her something when I told her that she got hurt.

Sometimes simple is perfect! I love it! It showcases the pretty fabric you used and Georgia's beautiful face!

Okay here is my Nemo applique. I did a shirt for DS first, it's not quite finished yet (don't know if I'll finish it) the lines on the fins need to be hand stitched in and around the mouth. I also might redo the eyes with white around the outside. I definitely will NOT be using these on the dresses. There is just too much black since that is how NEMO is outlined. I WILL be making a trip to Joann's to find the iron on patches. Since I show the good, I will also show the bad.

Off to bed, Nemo wore me out.

Wow!! I think this is great!!! LisaZoe once told me that if you use the same color of thread around the color of fabric you're working on (orange thread when you're going around orange, white thread when you're going around white, etc...) that the mistakes don't show up as much. I've been doing that ever since, since I make a LOT of mistakes. I think your applique looks great and I don't see any mistakes, but just a tip so you don't drive yourself crazy in the future!

Thank you!! I just saved the picture of the little dancing turkey, resized it to make it bigger and then used that for the pattern. But, I can make a pattern today and try to post it later on.

Tessa has to go to the dentist to get 3 fillings today. Poor thing! That's why I'm up and about much earlier than usual (I have already showered and dressed and it's only 7:00am ).

I just finished a simple little T shirt dress. I am going to add something to the shirt, and maybe some ribbon on the sleeves. I have three other Tinker Bell fabrics coming, but they wont be here in time, I was going to make a stripe twirly dress with them but oh well. when they come right? Georgia loves it , even if it is super simple!

Unfortunately my DH has to go because he is taking a client and his daughter (I think they might be a little upset if he cancelled). He took my older DD to a KU bball game so I think the younger one might get to go to HM (probably not fair in older DD eyes but what's one to do).

This brought tears almost as much as your post about her accident. We all got a stomach virus here and didn't get a chance to send a card, but we were definitely thinking about her. My dd8 would ask about her everyday to see if I had heard any good news yet. We are all happy to see she is smiling and feeling much better.

Yup, I follow LisaZoe's advice too, I do a lot of appliques and they all have their share of mistakes! But, usually only I can spot them!! Thanks Lisa!!!

The kids and I are pretty sure that you could put the space shuttle in there with pleanty of room to spare! I think they ordered the doors from NASA! It's HUGE! HUGE I say! AND it matches the house!

1. Cutting went well and I am having a great time sewing.
2. Cutting went bad and I am so mad i have locked myself in the room with a tub of chunky Monkey Icecream and I am not comming out till the pieces glued themselves back together.
3. Or cutting went great but sewing maching attacked the fabric and I am picking up machine pieces down stairs ( because I opened the door and chuched it down the stairs) and I will be online soon to tell you all about it.

I am really hoping it's #1 ok Have a great day fellow Disers I am off to cut.

Great new fabrics. I have seen some Lilo & Stitch fabric on site that must not be named but was afraid to buy it from overseas.

I got a call the other day that my best friend for years had had a heart attack. A few minutes later my Mother called me to tell me her husband had been rushed to the hospital in Michigan. Then I started having health issues. Which I have successfully dealt with for years and now BAM! I was so dizzy yesterday I thought I would fall down. And I am dealing with grumpy people who don't pay attention.

Gooooooood Morning! A quick post while dd is brushing her teeth in the bathroom. (I guess that is where she would brush , huh hehe) Today, I Have to count out and roll a huge water jug of coins (YUCK!) Then cut fabric and hopefully sew a jumper for G to wear over some jeans and a long sleeve shirt.

Finish packing. Georgia is going to pack today. SO that should be fun, with half her bedroom trying to sneak in the bags. hahaha

I really want to make an applique but not exactly sure what to do. I have a grand idea for something, oh well I guess I Could practice on scrap fabric, right?

Ok, pm me if you don't understand any of this because I am just going to hope I make sense. I use a pattern for the bodice, I used McCalls M5310 but you could use any similar pattern (and there are probably some in Teresa's bookmarks). Then I made a pattern for the strips. I think a-shaped ones are the easiest to deal with and look the best. For my tall girl (size 5/6) I drew a line 4 inches wide at the top, 6 inches wide at the bottom and 12 inches long. Then I measure how many inches around the bodice is and doubled it and then divided by 3 (figuring that's how wide the tops of the a-shapes would be with seam allowance) and that's how I figured out how many strips I would need. I then added a 4 inch ruffle to the bottom. To figure how long to make the ruffle, I multiplied how many strips I had by 5 inches per strip (with seam allowance) and then doubled it. When I made a size 2/3 jumper I used an a-shape that was 3 inches wide on the top, 5 inches wide on bottom and 8 inches long. HTH!

That totally makes sense...guess what size my twins wear? ... Yep a size 4/5

The Princess Zuma pants outfits were my 'inspriation' for my casual princesses, but I just made wide legged pants because I didn't want to pay $10 for the pattern either.

AHA! I have a pattern-free "pattern" for this in a book! I will find it and PM you the details after making and eating dinner! (If I can't find it, I know some people who have made these, and I will egt info from them...I also have vintage patterns for htem)

I love the little turkey in you all's siggy, so I made him into an applique for Sawyer. This only took me about an hour to do. I just told myself I didn't care if I screwed stuff up, he'll only wear it a few times. Here's Sawyer wearing his new sweatshirt (he loves it and kept saying "gobble, gobble"):

I love it! I wish I had time to make a Thankgiving outfit or 2 before we leave.

I got these on from some guy in Asia. I love the Tink border fabric. I figure that I'll make Madison some kind of dress out of it.

Ok, I love that b/w Mickey fabric. And I'm going to HAVE to find me some of the LE fabric. I guess I'm making Hancocks run soon.
