Ok, these are technically for dopeysgirl, because she asked for pictures of the "Kiss the Girl" Ariel dress that Nana made for Emily last year. And, since my model cooperated (Halloween candy is a great bribe :lmao:), I figured that I would post them for everyone.

I really, really like this. It's something you don't see at all.

I found the Father Daughter Dance pictues. These are the dresses I made. I found this fabric at Walmart for $1 a yard! After I started these, I realized that I didn't have all the pattern pieces! So, I found someone on Ebay (I tried calling Simplicity, but they couldn't help me since it was an outdated pattern) selling it, and asked them to give me some measurements for the piece I didn't have. She gladly did it, which I thought was awfully nice!

What beautiful dresses. I love the photo with their daddy. And they look like they really love each other in the last one. So cute!

Hi Everyone,

Great Job on all the outfits - they are all so incredibly cute!!

Has anyone seen any cute Pooh Characters Christmas fabric anywhere? I saw some blue pooh snowglobe fabric at Joann's, but thought the globes were too big for a size 18 mos outfit - and it was more blue than traditional red/green. I know I could check :wizard: but thought i'd check all the peeps here first!!!

Happy Sewing, Wendy

Good news. I had my interview today at the blood bank and they offered me a position. It starts a dollar an hour less than I make now, but I'm also not getting any hours now so it will be better than nothing. There are lots of chances for pay raises though. If I want to get my CDL license they will pay for my classes and testing...so, totally psyched about becoming an official "truck driver" But at the same time a little nervous about driving one of those big blood mobile trucks.
Of course I won't start training till after backround and reference checks etc. Probably around Dec.3rd. too far away. but what are ya gonna do?
This job is really kinda perfect for me, I hope that they will be able to work with my school schedule next semester.

CONGRATS on the job!!!!! Way to go!!!! Whoohoo!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

there was a classic pooh christmas at joanns also. did you see that one?

Alikat: I am jealous that you ventured over to Tampa without me! I have wanted to check out that Hancock's but with JoAnn's being so close I am just too lazy to try to find it. I don't even go over to the quilt shop much. It's probably better for my wallet that way.

T: Congrats on the job!

Anyone: what is that magic sizing stuff again and where do you find it? I washed and dried some Christmas fabric and it is horribly wrinkled even after ironing it. I looked in my JoAnn's today but couldn't find it.

I am looking into a serger too. I have heard (from my mom) that Singers aren't very good now like they used to be. I was going to ask my husband to buy the Brother one for me but any opinions from serger owners are welcome!

Thanks everyone for the kind words about my girls and the father daughter dance dresses! They just love having a night out with their daddy!

i am gonna take a pain pill and try to sleep . good night all

How are you doing Misty? I'm sorry you burned your arm. That hurts SOO bad!

These are FANTASTIC!!! I love the light blue with the vintage style Mickeys!

Yeah for the hugging sisters. Mine is 5 years older than me and we have always been close! Total polar opposites, yet best of friends! Sometimes I think the reason why some siblings hate each other is parents shrug and toss it up to "sibling rivalry " Neither my sis or I let our kids "fight" or say nasty things to one another. We both preach about the importance of siblings. Friends say we are lucky our kids are close, I think it's more we kinda enforce it and set good examples...like manners:) My boys are 4 yrs apart and respect each other. Sure they can't stand the air the other breaths someitmes, but we are still FAMILY. That is our Motto!!!
I LOVE to hear about close family and sisters! It seems that so many aren't. Brian's brother once told me that he was suprised that our kids didn't fight, because he thought all siblings fought with each other. He was actually talking about beating each other up!!! :scared1: I always empahsize the importance of siblings to my kids too. They may bicker,(mostly with their older brother, poor boy!) but I know they love each other, and will always be there for one another.
I have to get to work though. I decided to take on a bunch of projects for our upcoming trip (32 sleeps away) and so far all I have accomplished is a Minnie dress.
I can't seem to stop reading this thread.
I know exactly what you mean!

unfortunately I don't have my own computer and could not get to the one I used that day. But I've found it...thanks

BTW...the nemo mickey head applique is just great!! I never thought of outlining the head and ears seperately but DH and I really like the way it turned out!

It originally had a large blue bow too, but we couldn't find it for the picture.
This is a fantastic dress! So adorable!

Hey guys, just wanted to pop in. I know I have been quiet lately. I probably won't be on here as much. I will occasionaly stop in. Dh and I have basicly decided we are done having kids and even though it is really my decision it is still a little heartbreaking to think of all the cute girl clothes I will never make. I just need to get my head together a little bit I think, but I will be back...with a vengence. ;) OK, I have no idea what that means but, it sounded funny.
Plus we are probably going to WDW in Dec. next year so I have to make some outfits for that!
Aww  Don't be a stranger though!

I just pulled the door closed behind me. I'm NOT going back into my sewing room tonight. And maybe not tomorrow. I managed to complete a turkey applique on a pair of jeans for my DD, and even completed the matching t-shirt. And THEN, it was time for the ruffles. Usually pretty simple. But not today! I hemmed both ruffles, ruffled the first ruffle, moved on to the second. Broke my first needle. Had to rethread the machine. Forgot to reset my machine settings and didn't realize it until I ruffled the entire seconed piece. Had to rip out the stitch. Had to take off the ruffler contraption to get to my bobbin because somehow it needed to be re-threaded. Then, I broke my SECOND needle. All on one single strip of ruffle. I'm giving up! I WON'T try agian tonight. My DD doesn't HAVE to have the outfit until Thursday. We'll see if it gets done by then. But now, I have to go to the store for more needles! :headache: :headache: :headache:
Sound like a rough day!

I am OFFICIALLY excited now!  We leave for our Thanksgiving trip (Actually our very first trip to DW as a family!) in 8 days and the outfits are complete! :cheer2: These outfits are my pride and joy these days as I have never appliqued or any of this before! (I made the Epcot and turkey ones - other one is from that auction place) I was so excited that I took my dd to have her pictures in them before they get "messed up"! What do you think? I was really excited about the "pilgrim-y" look of the apron dress turkey since we'll be eating Thanksgiving dinner at the Fort!

These are so cute!!!! I love the turkey with the Mickey ears! These pictures are great, are you a photographer?
Hey Teresa! I love the picture of Brian & the girls. Reminds me of the pictures of Chuck and the girls when they were little.

HEY! I know you!!!!!How are you doing Vicki!!! I can't believe your girls went and grew up so fast!!! They aren't suppose to do that!

Vicki and Brian are friends (and, I like her too!) they met in college. If you look closesly in my wedding pictures, you will see here there! And then, we (Vicki and I)remet by accident here on the Disboards!

Guess what I got for $50??????? Can yah guess, can yah??? HMMMMM........should I tell yah??????? Yah, .......

A serger!!!! It's the Singer one, and I've heard they aren't as good, but for $50 I thought I'd give it a try! Laura (the Seamstress) told me about a dispaly model that was collecting dust at a Walmart near us. So, I called and talked to the fabric department manager, who then talked to the store manager. She just wanted it gone, so she talked the manager into letting me have it for $50!!!! I haven't actually tried it out yet though. But, it does come with a little DVD that I have started watching. Now, what can I do with this machine????

Well I finally finished her fleece jacket. I still have more fleece left over. I am trying to figure out what to do with it. I made her neck pillow (just needs to be stuffed) and her blanket to match.

OMG that is awesome, and I am sure well worth the $50 even if its just a learning model! I wish I could score that!

That turned out so cute! OMG I think I could do that! Did you use a pattern?

I love the new portrait peasant dress pattern from YCMT! I had no problem with this one! The pattern lines up, and the neckline gave me NO trouble!! The directions were a little confusing, but eeyore3487 helped me out there. Once I figured out to sew it together like the other one (different pattern) it was a piece of cake! I need to add the ruffle and have dd try it on tomorrow. It does use a lot of fabric though.

This is sooooo cute and your daughter is a cutiepie!

That turned out so cute! OMG I think I could do that! Did you use a pattern?

You totally could do it!! and no pattern. I just measured her, and added a little extra. It is a little stretchy, so I really should have added a little more, but its ok and she loves it. Basically, its a bunch of rectangles! Two for the hood, one for the back, I cut two the same size as the back and just cut one in the middle to make the two front sides. and two for the sleeves. then little ones for the ties. I had a little issue with the sleeves and having to resew the seam where they shoulder is. but it works. and she loves it. Next time, I will add an extra two inches or so to each piece except the hood, that was perfect. haha Even fits over her hair!

ACK! My DH had to go to bed early tonight so he couldn't post my pics of my fabrics...sorry!

Some of you are gonna get little packages from me in a few days! My envelopes are stuffed with a little extra in each  I'm mailing them tomorrow (no mail today)

Spongemommie told me she saw a Poke Mon outfit posted recently and I cant find it! Anyone know at a glance where it may be? My boys are Gaa Gaa over Pokemon! I just ordered my first BOLT of fabric...with Pikachu on it.

ALSO! Teresa, you know that quilted jacket someone posted last month? Where is it in the index? It was kind of an I-Spy jacket with tons of piced Disney characters on it. Did you index that?
