Speaking of my stash, I promised to show a current photo of it. I think TeresaJoy(ce) thought it might help when her DH complains about her buying "more fabric". She can show him my stash and point out she's not nearly as bad as she could be. :lmao: Anyway, I just took this photo. I decided I won't try to show all the stash because much of it is in boxes and cupboards where I can't easily photograph it. However, this photo shows what I think of as my "working" stash - and is probably about 1/2 or less of my total stash.

fabric_stash1.jpg

Another "speaking of" segue... in an effort to use up some of my stash while also figuring out my ruffler foot better, I've been working on making some twirl skirt sets that will also help use up some of the blank tees I've acquired over the past year or so. Here's one I got done between working on other projects:

chez_moi1.jpg

chez_moi2.jpg

I also made these 2 skirts but just need to decide what kind of top to make to go with them. I'll probably do a simple tee for the Christmas skirt but I was thinking of trying a hoodie type top out of a cool lacey knit fabric I have and put a tank or tee underneath - not sure if I'd prefer white or brown.

Wow, I would love to get my hands on some of the fabrics in your stash. I might actually make something for myself out of those prints!
The outfits are gorgeous as usual. I love the oink and brown design especialy.

IN PRAISE OF THE PHOTOBUCKET ACCOUNT KEEPER!

I just want to publicly thank the photobucket account keeper! I don't go on there everyday, just when I'm looking for some inspiriation. I was just there, and WOW! You've done a LOT of work since the last time I logged on! I'm SUPER impressed at how organized you are! I just wanted to say thanks for keeping up with what has to be 1000's of pics and keeping them accessible to all of us. You Rock!
I second this! I just went to that site yesterday for the first time in months and I was so impressed. Now could you apply the same organization to my personal photos :rotfl:

My stash is spread between my attic and my basement. Any boxes or bins you see either have fabric, patterns, or trim in them. There is a closet I didn't photograph that is full to overflowing with fabric and stuff, and there are bins and drawer units under all of the sewing tables. Yes, DH LOVES me, lol. Otherwise, he would never tolerate my hoarding.
Wow, now that is a stash!
Just wanted to let every one know that I found the cutest new Mickey and Minnie fabric at Hancocks the other day. I will try to post pics this weekend.

It is a red background (red is on the orangish side - matches Michael Miller's ironwork red on white). Mickey and Minnie are dancing -- pretty small -- looks like they are drawn --very cool. It was 5.99 a yard and 30% off.

Keep up the good work.
Souds cool,I wish our local Hancocks hadn't gone out of business (and right before I began sewing). I would love to see a pic :flower3:

OK, here are the pics of MOST of my stash. PLEASE forgive the mess.
OK, here are the pictures of about 75% of my stash. There are about 18 pics, so I might have to sprea this over a few posts:

I have never seen anything like that in my life! you have a store in your house. I thought I was bad! That is incredible. you should go through and list a bunch on the "not to be metioned" place! Holy moly!

Thank you! :thumbsup2
I think she is jealous that I live where it is so warm and nice and she is shivering her toes off! :snooty:

Yes? Well, ya know.........to some, shivering is a form of excercise! At least she's healthy and fit!!! :rotfl2: I'm here for you Heather!! lol!!! :rotfl:

I can't wait to go back and see what all I've missed in the last couple of days!

I'm just popping in to go off topic for a second and share something. (I am not apologizing though!)

I have never asked for prayer requests on line before, but I'm feeling a little overwhelmed right now and thought it couldn't hurt.

There is a mom at my church who is in the end stages of cancer. She is 29 and between her and her boyfriend there are 7 kids that are going through this with her. She found out Tuesday that her kidney cancer is in her leg bone and she already knew that it was in her liver and brain. I will be spending time with her along with some other members of our church helping her get to her treatments and do odds and ends. I am really having a hard time knowing what to say and would love it to know that there was a great group of ladies praying for me to have the right words when I just don't know what to do our say.

She goes back and forth from accepting that she is at the end and looking forward to feeling better. She isn't always logical in her thinking so it is really hard to know what to do and say.

This morning I am on my way to the the pediatric orthopedic surgeon to help her get treatment for her dd14 that broke her finger badly at volleyball last night. She won't admit that she' not well enough to go, so I really worry that we will get home and settled with no problems.

Thanks ladies.

This is so sad. She's so young, with so much life to live ahead of her.

You are an angel to her at this time. There's not always something to say, just a listening ear and being empathetic is enough. Love her children, show them kindness and you will have said all she needs to hear.

All of you will be in my prayers.

OK, here are the pics of MOST of my stash. PLEASE forgive the mess. We finished the basement last summer and I literally had 10 people at the house hauling fabric upstairs to the attic and chucking it up there to get ready for the construction crew. I still haven't gotten everythign organized and folded. Then we had a flood int eh basement in April, and we were literally sprinting down the stairs, grabbing stuff, and chucking it into my dining room. It's still not super neat or organized (and, honestly, never will be).

Ok, I'm all caught up! Hooray! There have been some seriously cute outfits posted! It's always so fun for me to come on and see what everyone's come up with!

I'm seriously in awe of Lisa's and Camelot's stashes! Holy schneikes! I believe I would get lost in all that fabric!

And I am keeping Castle's little Ireland and mytwotinks and her friend in my thoughts and prayers.

I've finished a pair of decoupage jeans for DD and almost finished DS's Mickey shirt - it just needs buttons, but do you guys think I should use black buttons or white buttons? I can't decide.

The shirts are pretty much CASEd from you know where.

I gotta keep sewing - a little less than a month to go!

I found the perfect pattern for my daughter last week. I bought it with the intention of making a pair of corduroy gauchos. After getting home and starting to cut out the pattern, I noticed that it is a pattern for stretchable fabrics. Can I use this pattern with my "non-stretch" corduroy?

Your kids are sooo cute and I LOVE the outfits! Where oh where did you find that mickey fabric? I am in love! I think either button choice would be okay, but I think I would do black! But that is just me!

I don't have an answer, but I am glad you asked because I did the same thing! Sooo, CAN YOU?:confused3

I was thinking of not mulit quoting today, but it takes too much energy! So, I'm back to my multquoting ways!

Congrats on the 100th post!!!!!

You didn't lasty very long queen multi quote. And I do think the thread would stop if you and Heather stop posting.:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

If you were in California I would ask if I could come and shop in your collection :lmao: Just because it looks like you have a lot of treasures to find there. I would love to have that much but I have a two bd apt and I don't think that would work. But thanks for makingme drooll.

you are already doing a great job by being there for her and her family. And I am sure any kindness and comfort you give will be welcomed. What a great friend you are.

We know laundry is dangerous, and washing dishes can cause injury. I would like to add cleaning your DD is hazardous to your health!

I spent all day yesterday cleaning DD's room. Under the bed, the bookshelf, the CLOSET:scared1: washed all the bedding..... and now my back HURTS! I am not sure what I did-but my back did not like it.

Cindee

Oh feel better.:flower3: I am :scared1: to go into the girls room. But I know thats where I will be all sat.

You are SOMETHING!!! Whipping out these outfits like there is no tomorrow!! You go girl!!!!   (Go banana, go banana...)

Wow, what a hard situation. I'll be praying for you, her and her family.

Hi everyone, don't want to make you all sad, but I just can't stop thinking and crying. This morning when I dropped DS5 Luke off at school I found out that one of his little fellow pre-schoolers, a cute little girl named Ashley, has inoperable brain cancer. She turned 5 in October, 2 days before my DS. I guess they were approved by Make-a-Wish for a trip to Disneyworld on Oct. 26, and since her mom is pregnant and won't be able to travel in a few weeks, they actually got to go to Disneyworld on October 29th. I was feeling really bad and wishing I'd had a way of making her a custom outfit for her trip. Anyhow, here is my thought, but I'm not sure about it. We do not know her or her family. She has a different teacher than DS so he likely only knows her from the playground and singing time. I was thinking I could make her like a minnie dot skirt or something with a mickey (minnie) head t-shirt. I looked at her website at caringbridge.org and her parents talk a lot about their faith and how people need to understand they are expecting a miracle. Their website also states that on an October 3rd MRI her tumor had doubled in size. My thought was if I made her an after the fact outfit, I could include in a letter that I hoped it reminded her of a fun trip and I hoped she would wear it on a future Disney trip. I don't know. If you were her parents would that seem weird? I just can't stop thinking about her. She even looks like my kids. She has also recently been through chemo, so I don't even know where to begin estimating her size. Let me know what you think. Thanks

I would ask her parents first, but I'd maybe even go as far as sending her a stuffed Minnie (to sleep, hug cry on etc.) with the outfit, to keep her company during her therapy and to comfort her  .......It is a sweet idea, my family will be praying for her. My DD8 has actually donated her hair three times to "locks of love" for the sick children who have lost their hair, she is just so compassionate. God Bless You for this thoughtful gesture.

Such a sad story! I think it would be very nice of you to make her something to remind them of their trip. I think maybe a t-shirt dress would be easier to fit her since they're roomier. Or even a pillowcase dress, since those are really easy to fit. I made a tshirt dress for my dd with minnie dot on the bottom and a black mickey head on the t-shirt. A princess one would be a good choice, too. There's some really pretty purple sparkly princess fabric at WM that I just got. I know it's hard to get something sized right if you can't measure the person it's for.

These are so cute! Did you use a pattern for your DS's shirt? I would like to try something like this (but am afraid of the button holes) for my 2 DS for our January trip.
