Hi - where do you find all the cute pink and green Christmas fabric? I'd love to get some of this stuff!!!

The skirt I shared previously, shown with a pettiskirt, if made with Michael Miller prints. The retro looking tree print is called Holiday Forest and part of the All The Trimmings line. The tree print seems harder to find than others in that line. I paired it with a non-Christmas MM print called Disco Dots - in the color scheme called Sorbet. The other one is made with 2 Robert Kaufman prints from the Let It Snow line. Here's an online store that has other prints in that line: http://www.fabricshack.com/cgi-bin/...w&productid=kaufman6616-7&pid=1#kaufman6616-7

I saw one of the prints with the cats, dogs and birds at one JoAnns. I don't know if they have it at others but I've seen other Kaufman prints there so it's worth checking especially if you can get it 40-50% off.

Speaking of my stash, I promised to show a current photo of it. I think TeresaJoy(ce) thought it might help when her DH complains about her buying "more fabric". She can show him my stash and point out she's not nearly as bad as she could be. :lmao: Anyway, I just took this photo. I decided I won't try to show all the stash because much of it is in boxes and cupboards where I can't easily photograph it. However, this photo shows what I think of as my "working" stash - and is probably about 1/2 or less of my total stash.

fabric_stash1.jpg

Another "speaking of" segue... in an effort to use up some of my stash while also figuring out my ruffler foot better, I've been working on making some twirl skirt sets that will also help use up some of the blank tees I've acquired over the past year or so. Here's one I got done between working on other projects:

chez_moi1.jpg

chez_moi2.jpg

I also made these 2 skirts but just need to decide what kind of top to make to go with them. I'll probably do a simple tee for the Christmas skirt but I was thinking of trying a hoodie type top out of a cool lacey knit fabric I have and put a tank or tee underneath - not sure if I'd prefer white or brown.

OK, this post demands a quote button all its own!

THAT FABRIC! DROOL! That is an amazing stash! One question - how do you get to the fabric on top?

AND, as usual BEAUTIFUL work, Lisa!

Here is the fish killing story:

Even though I am not teenage boy caught on tape killing fish, Heather has been warning people to keep their fish (and fishy kids) away from me. She thinks it is amusing. :snooty: I would not mind if you told her she was crazy.

Ummmmmmm..... those is fightin' words!!! :scared1: :scared1: Maybe you can quick erase them before Heather sees them!!

I mean- come on people! Heather may be a design/fabric thief..... but crazy????
No, no..... I don't think so....... ;)

Maggie: You said your girls are fish??? Keep them away from Stephres at ALL costs!!!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just curious how many of you are going to be at The World in May? Teresa and I (and our big 'ol family) will be there from May 3-May 17. We're staying off-site and I'm not sure which days we'll actually be at the parks yet.
I'll be there!!!!! ......Oh, never mind......

But, we are at 180 days!!!!!! We need some ADRs!!! We'll chat tomorrow, I hope!

We had an issue at Animal Kingdom with Pocohantas(sp?) My DD, 4 at the time was SOOO excited to see her. She was actually hiding off to the side behind some long branches with a CM like she didn't want anyone to find her. My DD gets her autograph book out(a nice Creative Memories one) and in the excitement she just hands her the book. Pocohantas just scribbled her name and never looked to see if she had the book upside down(even Mickey and friends can look and see this...) Then she took a picture with her and off course we get the pictures back(pre-digital) and she has a snide, snooty look on her face! Luckily you don't run across this very often, it definitely takes away some of the magic!!!!

GEESH! That's awful!
Okay, you have to know I'm going to ask you to scan that picture and post it! I wanna see snide, snooty, Pocahotas!!

Oh yes, please post!

Oh if you find yours, will you please check to see if it's friend (mine) is there??? If so, please tell it to come home, it's after dark, and the streetlights are on, but NOBODY is home!!!!
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

When you are making some outfits for a future trip where your little ones might be a size bigger, are there specific measurements to use? My daughter is 18-24months now but will be either 2T or 3T on our next trip and was wondering what measurements to use. Thanks!
They are in my bookmarks underTechniques and how tos/Garment size charts.

If anyone is ever having a hard time finding something in the bookmarks, try using the search feature on the top of the bookmarks page.
LisaZoe once posted a size chart. I think it is in Teresa's bookmarks but I couuld be wrong.
Yep, you are right!

:

Hubby is coming back in town today, leaving again Sunday morning....I feel pretty certain I won't be here alot till after he leaves...(like you'll be waiting or something...ha.) He's got a couple of crazy weeks so when he is home we'll be spending a lot of time together. I don't think cruisin' the boards is technically "quality time".:rotfl: But, my scrapbooks are finished! Can I get a and I CAN'T WAIT to get started on my sewing again! Finally!!!
What???? cruisin the boards isn't quality time??? Get your pritorities straight girl!!!:rotfl:

These photos aren't the best, when I get a chance I will upload my photopass pics.

Here is DD in her Peter Pan skirt. I had intended to make an empire waist sundress but wound up doing just a simple skirt.

DD and her uncle with Jessie, in their Halloween party outfits. Huck Finn and Becky Thatcher
th_img_3286.jpg

We had breakfast at Ohana before we left and Lilo loved her outfit, I just didn't get a good picture of the two together.
th_img_2831.jpg

These all turned out great!!! I love that Peter Pan skirt!

If I sound totally out of the loop here, but I just recently stumbled upon this thread and would love to learn how to do all of this spectacular stuff.
But first off, how do you decide which outfits to where....where? I mean, do you just browse the photos on here and decide what patterns you like and then find fabric that would go with it, or are there certain prints you decide for the kiddos to where at each park/character meal etc. ahead of time, due to your ADR's iteneraries??????? The photos(which really is my real passion-scrapbooking/photos etc.) look soooooooooooo awesome when everyone wears coordinating outfits, and I saw in one photo the Dads/Grandpas also blend nicely by just wearing the same color scheme! I am soooo impressed.
We are doing in Dec. and it is my 10th trip (I think) but first expanded- extended family trip. I want us to ROCK like you guys!   Look I even did three of these guys, I can fit in here if you help. :thumbsup2

:welcome: You mean, we are suppose to PLAN these things???

When anyone here finds a fabric they like, but don't really NEED for anything at the moment, but decides to buy it for 'someday', how much do you buy? DH thinks I'm nuts, but I figure if I dont get it when I see something I like, it may not be there later.
Let's just say, WAY WAY too much and leave it at that, ok?
I hear you I was left out also. I think HeatherSue is playing favorites.:snooty:
I'm her favorite! I'm her favorite!!!!

No kidding I am starting to think instead of multi quoting this whole thing I should have just done seperate ones to cheat.:lmao:
If you start doing that, I will start doing that....

Okay, I was finally able to upload pics. Here are two I made for DD4:

Donald Duck-her favorite:
th_DSCF1759.jpg

And Minnie mouse:
th_DSCF1756.jpg

Don't know yet how I feel about the Minnie but she absolutely loves them both so I guess that's all that matters! And YES!, she thinks she is a model!:rotfl:
These outfits are great! I love that ruffly skirt!!!!

I'm so sick of these recalls, too! How dare they sell us dangerous stuff for our kids!! We had to return some of the kid's favorite toys to JCPenney after they were recalled due to lead paint.
I can't even begin to tell you how mad I am about these dangerous toys! Corey said I need to get him a belt sander, and he will just make the girls all of their toys!

Great pictures and I LOVE the outfits! Uncle Jessie from Full House??!
Same thing that popped into my head!

Good job on meeting the banana quota!! I haven't made any outfits specifically for Disney yet. But, I'd just say go with your gut for things that you think would be cute in a specific park. Obviously, a lot of people do animal print stuff for AK. Teresa is going to make ice cream themed skirts for all of our girls for eating at Beaches and Cream. So, just use your creativity and you'll come up with a great idea!
Yep, I'm making 5 ice cream cone skirts, and then we are going to get the Kitchen Sink!!! MMMMMMMMMM

Hey this post puts me at 99 I believe. :snooty: :lmao: I am impatiently waiting for the mail person to get here to see if I get my spotty dotty envelope from one Heather Sue. :rolleyes1 I just hope my sewing machine survives me adding the ruffle to Megans overalls this morning. :lmao: :rotfl: :confused3
Hey now, who went to the store and bought that fabric????

I finished one other outfit for my DD1, but of course she will not model it for me!:rotfl: I cased this idea from t-beri:
DSCF1767.jpg

It is much cuter on, but like I said no modeling today! Well, I shouldn't say its finished, I still have to add buttons!
CUTE!!! You did a nice job!
a shameless post to up my countpopcorn:: :rolleyes1

Cool it, I say cool it!!

Our new WM does not carry fabric and I was told by the mgr. they were phasing it out and the new stores will not have it and soon the others won't either.:sad1: I like WM because I am usually there for groceries anyway now I will have to drive into town for a fabric shop.
Email them, call them, let them know how you feel. There is a link in Heathersue's siggy. We had a fabric deparment near us reopen because of all the feedback they got! And, our new Superwalmart opened with a fabric department! (Yes, a brand new Walmart opened with the SUPER part allready attached! Not a half done Walmart, a whole big SUPER Walmart!)
add a pic to a shameless post.. hehehehehe come on Lori!!
see like this!
th_IMG_2723.jpg
Shameless post or not, this is a cute picture!

I was just looking on ebay for sheets that I could use for fabric and found this.
th_vintagedisneysheets.jpg

I remember having these sheets as a kid. I'm not sure what I would make with them but I think I must have them just in case.
I love these! You need to get them!

Here is a pic from last Halloween. DD was Stitch, although most people thought she was Eeyore.
th_Stitchcostume008.jpg

Aww, cute! I thought it was Eeyore at first too.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Ireland has been reading the posts, when she feels up to it. You all are so kind, and I'm sorry for all of you who've had similar things happpen.
On a lighter note, I have been working away this morning finishing my Grinch applique. Let me tell you, appliquing (spelling) felt onto a stretchy knit is no walk in the park. What a job!! Anywho, I still need to add the fur to the cuffs then I will post the pictures soon...
Kudos on all the new super outfits. I love the peter pan skirt, and little Stitch is just adorable.

Lisa, I was just in tears reading about Ireland! I hope she heels quickly.   :grouphug:

Quoting myself - he he he. I bought it. One flat sheet of my childhood. I remember thinking when I was a kid that I really wanted to eat the apple Mickey is holding.
YEAH!!!

Thanks for the picture Lisa!!!!

And,those skirts are GREAT!
Speaking of stashes, trust me, EVERYONE's Dh's would shut up if they saw mine....I buy in bulk and I have purchased estates, too. I have rendered people speechlesss with the volume of my stash. However, I am ALWAYS in awe of beautiful, neatly stacked stashes of volume. VERY nice, and good for you getting motivated. Every time I go up into my stash, I end up spending hours fondling fabric and daydreaming about "what if"s, and lose a day of sewing.
Pictures??

well my fever is gone but i have a terrible earache now, i am hoping to be able to sew. after all thanksgiving is just around the corner:eek:
I hope you feel all better real soon!

I found my seam ripper! :cool1:

Here is the fish killing story: http://www.sptimes.com/2007/11/05/Hillsborough/News_on_the_go.shtml

Even though I am not teenage boy caught on tape killing fish, Heather has been warning people to keep their fish (and fishy kids) away from me. She thinks it is amusing. :snooty: I would not mind if you told her she was crazy.

Well, I GUESS I'm glad you found your seam ripper, and it wasn't in the couch!

And, HEY!!! WHATCHA think you are doing ruining my sister's good name like that!?????!!! HUH????? Ok, you just pretend that's a fighting bannana, ok!!!??? (That's why there is only one)
steph! Those poor fish! How could you? :rotfl2:

Seriously, some people are just cruel. But since when do you look like 2 teenage boys? Heh.

Heather! You are crazy!

UH! HEATHER isn't the crazy fish killer here. ;)

I'm gonna side with Steph on this one, cause I don't get it!
Hey, she missed a CRUCIAL detail!!!! These fish killings were very near where she lives! See, see now????? It's all becoming VERY clear now, isn't it! :rotfl:
Ummmmmmm..... those is fightin' words!!! :scared1: :scared1: Maybe you can quick erase them before Heather sees them!!

I mean- come on people! Heather may be a design/fabric thief..... but crazy????
No, no..... I don't think so....... ;)

YEAH! What she said!!!!

I can't BELIEVE you Steph, picking on my poor little baby sister while she is fast asleep! REALLY NOW!!!:snooty:

THAT FABRIC! DROOL! That is an amazing stash! One question - how do you get to the fabric on top?

I have a step stool to help me get into bed (antique beds are not designed for the extra thick mattress and box spring sets of today ;)) that I use to reach the top. The top is actually simple compared to getting fabric from the middle or bottom. Sometimes when I've tried to pull it out, the top comes with it and I get an avalanche. At least it's soft when it falls on me. :goodvibes

wow ! i can not believe it (sorry i have been watching the Lil Einsteins) and with absolutely no kids around Did i just admit that ? anyways what i was gonna say is i am all cught up on post's before i go to bed that never happens;)

wow ! i can not believe it (sorry i have been watching the Lil Einsteins) and with absolutely no kids around Did i just admit that ? anyways what i was gonna say is i am all cught up on post's before i go to bed that never happens;)

Yeah!!! Misty (it is Misty, right??) Nighty Night now! Dream about Lisa's gorgeous stash, I just hope you don't have fabric avalanche nightmares!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm off to bed too! I'ts really late here!

yep it is misty, and goodnight, while fabric danced in my head but what do my wondering eyes see a ton of lisa's fabric falling on me !!! run it's a fabric avalanche:rotfl:

a shameless post to up my countpopcorn:: :rolleyes1
Oh oh oh I want to post too. Oh thats what i am doing now.

Alrighty miss multy quote queen. Let someone else post a multi quote every once in a while would you please.:worship: And a big thanks to you and your sis for getting the minnie fabric to me. I got it in the mail today. I need to get this done while Megan is at school. Even though she has been trying these overalls on now for a week.:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: I don't want her to know what the finished outfit will be since it is going to be their xmas outfits to wear to dland xmas day. Yes I am goingto wrap them.:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: Hey they are gifts and still cost me money. Why not?

trying to find the turkey applique w/ribbons as feathers. I went to check the photobucket album and they were GONE!!! disappeared into thin air, vanished, caput!!! help. I need that turkey.
Lori
(yet another post to put to my count. 15 to go)

Hey, she missed a CRUCIAL detail!!!! These fish killings were very near where she lives! See, see now????? It's all becoming VERY clear now, isn't it! :rotfl:

Ooooh, that is a crucial detail that I missed... :scratchin Hmmm suspicious, yes.

BTW, I just changed to the Holidays theme! I figure if WM, HD and other places (inlcuding some on here) that have their Christmas trees up, then I can change my DIS theme to Holidays!!! And I just have to let these guys dance for me    my ticker tells me that I'm under 3 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gotta go, I have TONS of sewing to do!!

Thank you! I am pretty much finished with another outfit! I just need to find a beauty and the beast iron on or something! I will try to post pics later of the outfit later! Thanks everyone for all your sweet comments and all of your help with the peasant top!:flower3:

IN PRAISE OF THE PHOTOBUCKET ACCOUNT KEEPER!

I just want to publicly thank the photobucket account keeper! I don't go on there everyday, just when I'm looking for some inspiriation. I was just there, and WOW! You've done a LOT of work since the last time I logged on! I'm SUPER impressed at how organized you are! I just wanted to say thanks for keeping up with what has to be 1000's of pics and keeping them accessible to all of us. You Rock!
