These photos aren't the best, when I get a chance I will upload my photopass pics.

Here is DD in her Peter Pan skirt. I had intended to make an empire waist sundress but wound up doing just a simple skirt.

DD and her uncle with Jessie, in their Halloween party outfits. Huck Finn and Becky Thatcher

We had breakfast at Ohana before we left and Lilo loved her outfit, I just didn't get a good picture of the two together.

These are so cute. I love the Peter Pan fabric. The red Hawaii fabric is really pretty. Where did you get it?

Aw, she is so cute with her perfectly pointed toe! She and JoJo can go on the road together impressing everyone with their cuteness!

Oh, great job on the outfits. I think you'll get a lot of attention with the Donald one, since you don't see it every day. The Minnie one with the yellow is so cute!

Thank you sooo much! i saw the yellow on a few things in photobucket and really liked it!

I finished one other outfit for my DD1, but of course she will not model it for me!:rotfl: I cased this idea from t-beri:

It is much cuter on, but like I said no modeling today! Well, I shouldn't say its finished, I still have to add buttons!

Wow!! As perfectly spaced as those ruffles look, I'm starting to suspect you photoshopped this outfit!! :rotfl2: It's really cute!! If you can get your model to cooperate later, post some pics of her in it!

If I sound totally out of the loop here, but I just recently stumbled upon this thread and would love to learn how to do all of this spectacular stuff.
But first off, how do you decide which outfits to where....where? I mean, do you just browse the photos on here and decide what patterns you like and then find fabric that would go with it, or are there certain prints you decide for the kiddos to where at each park/character meal etc. ahead of time, due to your ADR's iteneraries??????? The photos(which really is my real passion-scrapbooking/photos etc.) look soooooooooooo awesome when everyone wears coordinating outfits, and I saw in one photo the Dads/Grandpas also blend nicely by just wearing the same color scheme! I am soooo impressed.
We are doing in Dec. and it is my 10th trip (I think) but first expanded- extended family trip. I want us to ROCK like you guys!   Look I even did three of these guys, I can fit in here if you help. :thumbsup2 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Welcome! Were glad to have you!

I do exactly as you say, I plan outfits based on what parks we are going to and what places we are eating at. I did this before, while shopping for our trip, I would buy the kids safari shirts from Gymboree. I stumbled on this thread and saw the great clothes but I couldn't afford to buy things from ebay, but I already had a sewing machine and have been sewing for a while.

So I would ask DD if she liked this or that and I made some things for my DS based on where we were going. The ladies here are helpful for letting you know where to find fabrics they used for different outfits, and what patterns they used.

Thanks for posting and feel free to ask any questions.

Okay, I was finally able to upload pics. Here are two I made for DD4:

Donald Duck-her favorite:

And Minnie mouse:

Don't know yet how I feel about the Minnie but she absolutely loves them both so I guess that's all that matters! And YES!, she thinks she is a model!:rotfl:
Very cute! I love your daughter's curls. She's lovely.

For me it depends on the fabric. If it's a juvenile print I would obviously use only for my (or someone else's) kids, I usually get 3 yards. If it's a more "adult" print, I will usually buy 5. If it's someting I LOVE and have ot have, I will buy as much as 10. I know this sounds like a lot, but I like having lengths that are flexible for when I do use them.
This makes me feel a little better since I always buy at least three yards! Which explains the pile of fabric that is growing in my sewing room.

Thanks for the welcome and the advice. Is it really hard to get started? What type of sewing machine do I need, accessories model # or styles?
TIA

Our new WM does not carry fabric and I was told by the mgr. they were phasing it out and the new stores will not have it and soon the others won't either.:sad1: I like WM because I am usually there for groceries anyway now I will have to drive into town for a fabric shop.

Hi everyone... I just wanted you all to know that Ireland's had an accident. :sad2:

I'm so sorry to hear this! I hope she's feeling better very soon.

These are all fabulous outfits and so unique! You have a beautiful daughter!

EnchantedPrincess - I apparently lost your post, but I think that the CHristmas stripwork jumper is wonderful!! I also think you must be lightning fast because I just read your post with the fabrics you bought yesterday. :thumbsup2

For those of you who are having trouble with the baste and pull gathering, I highly recommend the dental floss method that someone mentioned earlier in this thread. You just do a wide and long zig zag stitch rather than the basing stitch. You can either stitch over the dental floss or thread the floss through by hand with a needle after stitching. It works great for me because I've never had the floss break like the basting treads can do. I also pin like stephres mentioned so I have a smaller sections to work with.

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: Thank you! I am laughing so hard right now! let me start by saying I HATE RUFFLES and I have sworn to never do them again until I get my own sewing machine with a ruffler!:headache: Those ruffles were bought that way and I just sewed them on! :rolleyes1 That's why they are so perfect, they're store bought ruffles!:rotfl:

Cute also! Happy birthday to your baby.

Thank you! And yes this was messy hair and no I didn't apologize! Thank you for the birthday wishes!

I was just looking on ebay for sheets that I could use for fabric and found this.
vintagedisneysheets.jpg

I remember having these sheets as a kid. I'm not sure what I would make with them but I think I must have them just in case.

Here is a pic from last Halloween. DD was Stitch, although most people thought she was Eeyore.

SO CUTE!! I don't see how it could be cuter, even modeled. :)

That's funny: don't apologize for store bought ruffles! It reminds me of those old commercials "does she or doesn't she" hair color. Anyone remember? Or just me?

I swear you need to get that child into modeling! Is there local modeling in Arizona? She needs to be in magazines and catalogs, spreading the world with her cuteness!

Cute! I think maybe she needs the extra arms not to be confused with Eyeore.

That is the coolest fabric!!! Must. Stalk. Ebay.

She's adorable. What a great pout.

Great Job!!! What age is the child you made it for? I am in the middle of one for my 3yo. I used size 5 also so I could have some room.

My dd is 4, and she normally wears a size 4 or 5 depending on the brand..I think you should be fine with a size 5 because I am thinking I should have either use the size 6 or 7 patterns.
