Ok, I failed buttonholes & zippers 101 :headache: My mother decided that my machine is too old and she took the princess bodices to my aunt who has the automatic buttonhole maker! I love my family!!!!

We did get this done without a zipper foot, but my mother had to do it since she has decades more experience than I! This is for dd7 to wear to CRT (her choice, not mine!) These are with my camcorder and not great! The mice are not appliqued, but iron-ons that I printed from clipart. I didn't want to do all the tiny applique work, so I cheated... sue me!!! Dd7 has been sick, so she didn't feel like putting it on for pics, especially since she's tried it on a dozen times for fittings today!!!

Very Cute...love the mice, they make a great touch on Cindy's work dress!

I used to hate buttonholes until I got a machine with the auto-program, zippers I'm still only so-so at. I actually have better luck with the invisible style, and they're supposed to be harder. Thanks to Auntie for coming to your rescue. :)

Well, I got one skirt made to see how it looks over the pettiskirt. I think it's pretty cute and just need to decide if I'm willing to let Zoe wear the pettiskirt to school or if we'll just keep it for special occasions.

I was thinking maybe she could wear the skirt and pettiskirt for the school's Christmas program until I noticed the program only seems to be for grades 2 through 5. That bites! I was really looking forward to going as were my sisters. :headache:

Morgan is running around in shorts here in Florida. THAT is why I moved from Michigan :rolleyes1.

I think it is actually going to be in the 50's tomorrow morning (for 15 minutes at 2 am:lmao: )

On a sadder note. Morgan just found out the hard why why I tell her not to lean back in her chair. She fell backwards and bit her tongue pretty bad. She will be on soft foods for a few days:sad2:

Cindee
Aww, Poor Morgan!

Brian said he saw snow on the drive home today. EEEWWW

Hi Everyone!!

All the outfits continue to amaze me!! Sooooo cute!! Cutie kids too!!!

So, I am working on embroidering my turkey applique, and a keep running across a few problems -

the thread breaks - what do you set your tension at?
i get "blobs" of embroidery every now and then? what makes this happen??

do you need a stabilizer to go behind sweatshirt material?

Now here is a question, My 32 year old SIL arrives tomorrow and stays till the day after Thanksgiving. She has Down Syndrome, and is very high functioning. Im thinking with me doing all this sewing, she might want to try some with me - i was thinking maybe pajama pants or something for us to try? is there any free patterns for that online? she is very chubby and short - lol - so would need like size XXL - any ideas?????? thanks so much!!!

oh, by the way - i've discovered the Goodwill store!! They were having a 50% of denim today!!!! i got several pairs of kids jeans with the tags still on them - they were $1.50!!!! got some GAP overalls for a toddler and then a pair of shorts for me, and one for my mom to just have fun decopauging for our new years eve trip - why not - they were only $2.25!!!! some of the things there were - GROSS!!! but, theses were in new or slightly used condition!!!!:wizard:

There are pajama pants patterns in the bookmarks, under pajamas and robes. You can always do a search at the top of the page too to help you find what you are looking for. Link in my siggy.
Thank you, I will tell her. She came in a few minutes ago and asked if she could go to bed. I think she muct be the ONLY kid in the world that does that :). We might go to Seaworld for a couple hours on Saturday. I think Jack Hanna is going to be there. Are you Seaworlded out yet? LOL

Cindee
Jack Hanna was at our little locat zoo a few years ago. Unfortuntately, it was while we were in Florida, so I missed him! My Mom went though, and think she got a little crush on him!
GRRR I just lost a forever long post in which I commented on everyones loverly stuff, the addition of a new Tiffany (DisneyBrat-WELCOME!!!) and some other stuff.

OK. I signed up for the fabric swap (boys FQ's) under the assumption that I had some mickey cammo lying around. But I can't seem to find it. Did I send anyone here my cammo mickey fabric?:confused3 I don't need it, I just want to know that I haven't lost my mind and it's not lost somewhere in the chaos of my house. So if I sent you mickey fabric, raise your hand and put my mind at ease.

Oh and I applied for a new job today at a local blood bank. i worked as a phlebotomist when Mac was a baby and work has slowed down considerably. Jobs are hard to come by around here, especially ones that are worth having. The ad went into the paper just yesterday and when I was there at around 1 today they had already had about 7 applicants. So keep your fingers crossed for me.
I am going back to school full time in Jan. and should be graduating w/ by degree in elementary education in about 3 years. DH and I have talked about moving somewhere a bit closer to Tampa or Orlando when I start teaching. But we are leaning towared Orlando. It'd be nice to be closer to the mouse. (but that wasn't really one of the factors- at least not the ones I presented to DH!!;) )

;) ...t.
Michigan could always use a good plabotamist! And, good teachers! ;)
Oh Thank you Thank you for all the information. I am reallly anxious to try this technique, I'm almost done with my custom scrapbooks/autograph books for the girls and am ready to move on to something sewing-wise.

Maggi
Could you post some pictures of your autograph books? I'm making some for the kids, and would love to see your ideas.

I think this is SO cute!

Love all the designs! I love the skirt with the pettiskirt! Lisa, I don't know about school, if your dd is anything like my dds, the pettiskirt would be ripped within an hour of wear! LOL!

Oh, and the cute christmas pants, I may have to make some of those for my dds. Super cute!!!!

I am ready for Thanksgiving, my mother and my girls are going to Myrtle Beach, SC, for a trip! I can't wait! Every year my DH hunts for the week, and this year I am going somewhere, too. I know it won't be the warmest beach vacation ever, but I am just excited to go somewhere.:cool1:

How did you get out of that one?! :thumbsup2

God is smoting my FIL for lying and cheating! He is cheating on my MIL again. It is the elephant in the room. He went to NY when he was suppsosed to be in FL. He hurt himself and now has to get his hip replaced. He cannot walk up the 11 steps to our front door. I was really close to not letting in our house anyway!!! He is not the most fit man so my Dh and I are still mindboggled by the physics. I guess that is why he is hurt.

We will most likely do dinner out. We always had Thanksgiving with them the night before. We then have Thanksgiving at my grandparents on Thursday. I am going to do the new YCMT peseant dress for DD3 and I have a really cute jumper for DD1.

Search my*ladybug*creations and you will see the jumpers. DD is brown with a pumpkin. She has a black gingham pumpkin dress listed now. I love the dress and will most likely get another for Christmas.

I've lurked here for a looong time. I LOVE your work! I have no girls, 3 boys that are too old for cute stuff and I don't sew, but I LOVE this thread:goodvibes

This christmas skirt is the cutest!!! Maybe her school will have a seperate program for the younger kids, ours does. Ours is just lower key and held during the day, but parents still dress up their little darlings! I hope they have something so she can wear that!!!

Katy

Lisa, JMHO but I think the pettiskirt highlights your work beautifully! Id def do the petti under it, my DD5 wears hers allllllllllllll the time to kindergarten(and if I could figgure out how to post, Id show her in it):lmao:
all th OTHER girls in her class have PETTI ENVY,:rotfl: its very obvious:rotfl2:

I would be happy to!! I can do it tomorrow while the girlies are in school...I have to figure out photobucket first, hopefully the curve isn't too steep! But for now, I'm going to bed....I've been struggling with my paper cutter, I think I need a new one, I can't get a straight line on a piece of paper to save my life....I've finally given up. I'll worry about it in the morning!

Night all!

I don't know if I'd let my girls wear that to school or not, well since we homeschool I might not be qualified to answer since sometimes they just wear pjs!!! But, I think it's absolutely beautiful! I've got to find some of that fabric!!!!!!

I am so jealous! I have been looking for that tree fabric forever! My quilt shop has all the coordinating fabric, but not the trees! I think I would let her wear the skirt to school without the pettiskirt and save it for family dinner or something. Or Christmas card pictures! How cute would that be?

Do you know what sizes they have?

My daughters is a size 4 (she's fixing to be 3) and it fits just fine. I may even take it back to try on the 5 just to be sure. I believe the sizes started at a 2 and went up.
