I'm loving all the Halloween pictures!! My camera cooperated and I was able to upload a ton of pictures!! Of course DD (and DH) were soooo excited to start trick or treating, that I never got a decent picture of DD's costume!! I used ribbon instead of elastic on her peasant blouse...it turned out pretty cute!

We were one of the first groups out, and DD was the last kid (in the neighborhood!) to come in!! She loves Halloween!!

The group...we trick or treat with "cousins". The 2 older boys are sons of 2 of my girlfriends. (The ones I've know since Jr. High and High school!)
DD had a very cute pirate hat trimmed in feathers that she REFUSED to wear.

DD and DS. DS was orginally going to be a parrot, but the forecast was calling for rain. Feathers and water don't mix!! Besides, he schreeched (like a parrot) when I tried to "wrap" the feathers around him in the store.

IMG_2376.jpg

DD's "blinged" pirate shoes. The rhinestones are just stickers!

IMG_2413.jpg

Like HeatherSue's son, DS had a little pumpkin treat bag that he wouldn't give up!! Here is DS's "loot"...

IMG_2421.jpg

And here is DD's "Loot"...

IMG_2423.jpg

Don't feel too bad for DS, he kept taking stuff from DD's pile and adding it to his own! He was carrying 3 suckers around all morning.
DD will get to wear her costume again in February when we go on our cruise!!

Ok my computer was being a brat so it took me awhile to get the pics from the camera to the puter to photobucket! Below are the Dress Up Pics...first the girls had a party at school and they were Cinderella and Belle (yet again). Then for trick-or-treating, we went with friends. DD9 was a funny frankenmonster with a great big green hat. DD4 was a cheerleader and DD2.5 was a fairy island princess. At the end of the night we put all the "loot" in one big bowl! Wow!
Truthfully though ladies, I don't like Halloween so I am glad its over. I am really looking forward to the holidays this year....its so much fun with the little ones around to live the excitement and preparations with them. I cannot wait to decorate cookies and decorate and dress up in our fun holiday :santa: clothes!!!
OK so anyways, I have enjoyed everyones pics. Here are ours:

This is fuzzy, but the expression is priceless...he had just woken up after a long train ride and car ride and he wasn't too thrilled with the prospect.....

I had a fourth degree tear with DD4 too (my first baby). I swore that at my six week check-up my doctor was going to examine me and say, "Whoa, what is going on here!" because I hurt so bad! I don't think I sat down w/o pain for 3 months! And don't even talk to me about going to the bathroom! TMI, I know! My advice to new mothers is don't stop taking the stool softeners!

You know the guys on this site love this whole discussion!

Hey, I confess, I lied to the nurse about going #2 so I could leave the hospital. I still shudder just thinking about it now, three plus years later. And my DH wonders why I think twice about having another baby. He has NO IDEA how bad that hurt. :scared1: Always take your meds on time even if you don't feel like you need them.

Heck, I know that and I still forgot to take anything today, I was feeling fine but boy I've got a heck of a head ache and one set of stitches in my mouth feels really tight. I'll have to take a picture of the bruises, I'm sure anyone who sees me thinks my DH hit me good, I have it on one side and now the other one is starting to come in, it's a lovely shade of dark purple. I'll feel fine in about 10 minutes when the good stuff starts to kick in. I just won't be able to drive a car tonight. :)

Okay, getting this on topic for me, Castle was it you that did the really great 3-D applique of a turkey? If it's not, I apologize to who it was, I couldn't even begin to think I could figure out where that great turkey was in the 1200+ pages we have on the thread now. Can someone post the picture and maybe some instructions, I'm hoping to make either a twirly top and jeans or embellished overalls with the turkey on there for Thanksgiving dinner. Thanks in advance.

Now if I could only find my turkey fabric and the rest of my fall fabric for the project.

I do know that I'll have my new sewing space ready by the end of the weekend. I'm looking forward to that one.

How come everyone else can find the "real" Minnie dot fabric and I can't! I bought it once last February or March online but I haven't seen it since online. I'm on a "list" to be notified when it comes back in stock. My Hancocks has never had the Minnie dot fabric in stock (they said that when it does come in stock someone buys the whole bolt at a time). I may have to check it out tomorrow though!

I just asked my Hancocks the other day and they said that it was sold out for Halloween and they probably wouldn't have it back in stock until around Christmas. Before that though I have only seen it one time and that was MONTHS ago!!! Good Luck!

This one? I don't know who posted it, maybe they'll wander by soon. The pumpkin and turkey were interchangable, with velcro (I think)

YEA!

:thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

That's the one I was looking for. I'm getting ready to start getting something for DD to wear to dinner for Thanksgiving and I love that turkey so much.

I am saving the picture so I know where it is for when I start working this weekend.

As soon as I saw your oldest dd, I immediately knew she was yours. She looks just like you!

I haven't heard that since she was a baby! No one ever thinks she looks like me anymore. Every once in a while I hear it about Drew but I really don't see any resemblence with either! I'm horrible at that though. I could probably meet identical twins and not even know they looked alike.

So I made my first tiered twirl skirt for my DD for Halloween. I started it a couple of weeks ago and I never really got a chance to put the ruffle on and add the elastic casing and elastic. So time flies by and I end up trying to put the finishing touches on it on "Halloween Eve". I start working on it after getting the kids in bed at 8. Start cutting my ruffle fabric and ruffling(with my ruffler foot) all is going well until I ran out of my ruffle fabric, stabbed my hand with the seam ripper and broke a needle. AGGHH I finally finish the skirt at 1:30am.

So after being up TOO late I don't hear the alarm clock going off because I am exhausted so I wake up 10 minutes before the bus comes. My DD REFUSES to have to be a "car rider"(being dropped off by your parents). So we get her dressed in her nice newly finished twirl skirt and pack her lunch and she makes the bus. Then after she gets off the bus I ask to do a quick twirl for me since I didn't get a chance to see her spin in the morning. My very accident prone 6 year old does half a spin and falls FACE FIRST into the corner of the wall!!!!! She caught her fall with her head. She has this HUGE goose egg on her eyebrow and forehead! This is 2 hours before trick or treating and she WILL be going and wearing the Tooth Fairy Dress from heck!!! I make her lay on the couch until I can get the Dr. to call me back. They give me the head injury check list and my DD iced her head for quite a while but she was able to trick or treat!

Yes my clumsy DD was the first to be injured in her twirl skirt!!!!! I know our motto is there is no such thing as too much twirl, but I think this particular skirt had TOO much twirl!!:lmao: And to top it off, I never did get a picture of her in her skirt!!!

I'm sorry that I almost missed the post....Nope..no turkey here...Gobble Gobble... I can't think of who it was ,but it was adorable...

wanted to say everyone's halloween pictures are great! it would be a huge quote if I did everyone's! Awesome everyone!

Yeah, well Princess Liliana will have none of going to bed, but we're gonna try again here in a minute, I just thought I'd post again for consistency. Seaworld had a "countdown to Halloween" show. It starred Elmo, telly, the count zoe and abby cadabby (who I only just heard of last week- we only get 1 channel in our house)There were pics w/ telly and the count too but zoe and abby went in after the performance :confused3
That really is it for the night.

...t.

My girls loved this show. We've seen it 3 times last month. Abby Cadabby was a head scratching...HUH? Who's that?...My girls are a little too old for Sesame Street but still liked the show.

correct me if I am wrong but I think it is butterick 5019 pattern.
Lori

Hi...I made that top, but didn't use a pattern. I know some people have made it with the apron top pattern, but sorry...I don't have one...
It might have been easier with one...LOL

I love looking at everyone's Halloween pics. Great job! Mine were all store bought costumes. Oh, the horror! :scared1:

Love everyone's Halloween costumes pics, such adorable kids all around.

Well, I did it. :thumbsup2 The ripped open applique jeans are done and sewed back together. Here is the front:

And the back of the jeans:

Does anyone have any ideas what I could do to cover the design on the back pocket? I don't want anything too big. I thought about stars, but then decided that was not appropriate to put on my DD's behind.

Wow, I'm telling you this is one thread hard to keep up with. I miss a couple days and I am so behind! Everyone's costumes and outfits look AMAZING!!!! Now I agree with whoever said it....bring on the Christmas customs!!!

(okay...and the Thanksgiving ones for Heather)

:rolleyes1 Anyone know of a pattern for those spiral Euro hoodies??? You know the ones with the long hoods that then look all spirally (a new word perhaps???) toward the bottom?

Anyone know what I am talking about???

Too tired to post much, I promise to return to my formerly chatty self ASAP..

You can see her bow really well in this one (Thanks to my2angels for the minnie and halloween bows- she did an excellent job!)
But really we took this pic to show off our little pin trader- she ended up picking simba and cinderella. Gotta raise em right, ya know?

I also ran into another disboutiquer while we were at Epcot, though it wasn't disneymommieof2. I hate to admit that I didn't know her name, but I had seem the dresses her girls were wearing. That's SO COOL. I also spotted a Dis'er at the Kona Cafe at the table next to us. My family thought I was nuts. I kept looking at her and finally asked if she was a member of the disboards, she looked surprised and said "How did you know that??!!" I told her the "Passporters" and the Crocs gave her away!! How 'bout that, I spotted a Dis'er w/out a hint of lime green!!! I'm good:cool1:

I know there's a Farbenmix pattern called Olivia that has a long hood that is tied in knots. It's a hoodie dress with a "kangaroo" pocket. The bottom of the dress flares out quite a bit. Often it's made to be worn under a jumper style dress (also in the same pattern). I don't recall seeing any that have spirals but I'd bet it's either a Farbenmix or Ottobre pattern.
