Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 5

You people are such bad influences! All along I've been telling myself, I will never get a ruffler foot. I wouldn't even want one. No way could I ever figure it out. My method works just fine. So, what did I do today while I was at Hancocks? I told myself, well, this is the only place to get one, and there it is right in front of me, and I only drive clear out to Hancocks once every 5 or 10 years (literally) so maybe I will want it someday. SHEESH! It is mostly Heather's fault after her glowing report of her weekend with her ruffler. I know I will never be able to figure the contraption out and I will end up going back to Hancocks to return it and spend another $70 on fabric. :scared: Oh, and to the people wanting Little Einsteins fabric, I bought a tiny bit today for some quilt squares and the lady told me it was brand new, she literally put in on the shelf a couple of hours before I got there, so it looks like it is still coming in to the stores. Also I found the cutest Mickey/Minne fabric. I will have to post a photo. It is perfect for DD10!

Teresajoy is totally right, the YCMT peasant top is messed up and the bookmark one is so much better, and free. :) I'm the one who posted the fix-it pics of the peasant top, you can PM me if you'd like me to email them to you instead of trying to look back through a weeks worth of pages...did anyone notice we've passed 20K posts on this thread?!!!

Okay so just for the heck of it, I went back to see who posted #20000 (okay, I'm supposed to be cleaning my house right now--very important company coming tomorrow) and it was, drumroll please.....Susan! I missed by one post! I know, I know, I need to stop posting and start cleaning.

I've been working on customs for our trip for 5 kids. 2 of them are 8 and definitely have gotten the belly in the last year. I've searched far and wide for simple patterns and ideas. PM me if you need any help/direction.

What Mickey fabric are you looking?

I made DD10 a peasant top out of scrap fabric because I was trying to make sure it fit right. She wore it to school the next day (plain pink sleeves, plain ivory bodice) and said she has never received so many compliments in her life from all the other little 10 year old girls. I made long sleeves and shirred near the top and hemmed the cuff. It was so easy.
What pattern did you use for the shirt? I can't find one big enough.

Im Looking for the bright green one with the different color swirls.

The picture that I just posted, I used the YCMT, (or whatever it's called) pattern. It leaves the neckline way too wide and the underarm to neckline too short. You wind up having to add to the sleeve measurement...Weird...Thankfully I measured Ireland before I started cutting my fabric.

Is this the fabric you are looking for?

It's from Joann's - and it's pricey. $9.99 a yard (I think)

Thanks thats it. I love it just was curious why it was so much on :wizard:. That just inflate shipping $3.75 first yard $1.75 each additional yard. Oh well I will guess have to pay it. LOL.

Thanks,
Melanie

well, I have decided I do not like doing peasant tops. A friend of mine says she will do them for a nominall fee for me now. I shipped off enough fabric for 13 peasant tops today! wheww I feel better. Now I can concentrate on all the other aspects of the outfits I have planned. she is a life saver. I agree on that YCMT pattern. it is bad and it made me frustrated to ever do them again! ahhhhh I feel de stressed! off to gather some tulle for some skirts!

THANKSGIVING PREVIEW

DD has her Thanksgiving Breakfast Feast tommorrow morning so we finally tried on her Turkey outfit. This was the first time I cut the bottom of the jeans before I attatched the ruffle. They are a little long - looks like she'll be able to wear this next year too! Whoohoo. I made 2 of these sets (one for DNeice) and a matching set of overalls for DS. I'll post all of the kids together after Thursday!

BTW, this is my first fresh from the bath picture. I heard it's a requirement!!
I just love this! And your daughter is so cute as usual!!! :cutie:

I finally finished the jeans to go with my Fall Peasant top. What a job. The jeans took forever and broke one of the needles on my sewing maching..GRRR...They also have tons of hand stitching that took, almost forever. Sorry for the poor pictures. My camera is in a bad mood...and it keeps shutting off...

Wow, you are sewing lots and I can hardly keep up! I love this outfit! Did you add the fabric on top of the jeans or did you add in that panel??? Love the fabric and colors!!! :thumbsup2

This has to be my absolute most favorite fabric! :cloud9:My JoAnn's doesn't carry this :sad2:

Mine hasn't had it in a while either. I was there the other day and they just got some more in. They had alot of licensed fabric that I hadn't ever seen at that Joann's. Must be stocking up for "Black Friday." Licensed fabric is 30% off. And (some) flannel is .99. I may have to venture out to get some good deals!!

Yes, ours is a boy too LOL. He does have a red "virtual" cowboy hat. I tried to talk her into the boots as well but she was not interested LOL. How many times a day to have to feed these things?

Did you use that C6000 glue to put these on the pants???? how do you keep the edges from fraying?

I added the fabric to the top of the jeans. I turned under the edge of one side, down one leg, but the other side I just caught in the raw edge. that was the edge that I opened.

Not as much as you'd think. I log on at night to rack up some points for her to buy things. so far she's bought an out side yard and now wants a pool. She's already decorated his house...LOL

What kind of Webkinz did Morgan pick out?

She has the brown horse. She named him "Brownie". We went to the movies and the grocery with us today. He is tucked in bed with her right now. I noticed Jord has been moved over to the far end :rolleyes1 Poor Jord!

I am sure she will want to take him to Sea World this week.

Does anyone know where I can buy something along these lines of the Disney Boutique look with a Cinderella look, but fancy enough for us to let our DD wear it to dinner with Cinderella?

I thought that she would be able to wear her Cinderella Halloween costume, but it's too bulky to do the Royal dinner and then go into the MVMCP. Anyone have any suggestions for this one??? TIA
