Spongie! You were up LATE last night! I know, I know...when there's THREE more days till DisneyLand, there's a ton of stuff to do!

I called a little bit ago, but there was no answer so I can only guess you are:
a. sleeping...lucky!
b. at Walmart buying last minute trip related stuff. Hey, you never know when you'll need a new lime green bra!
c. cleaning and tidying
d. being driven crazy by uncooperative kids (Don't you just LOVE when they're off track????? :sad2: )
e. sleeping, but your kids are cooking ice cream and are burning down the kitchen.
f. still sewing...determined to make each of your 5 kids a complete outfit for each ride and restaurant, not to mention matching autograph books
g. overdosing on Mother's Little Helper :upsidedow

I just had to share this skirt. Zoe and I worked on it together, she picked the fabric, helped cut the gores and stitched most of the seams (I was right beside her to help guide the fabric so the seams are semi-straight and even). I added the simple hem treatment and waistband. She wore it to school this morning and was excited to show it to her teacher and friends.

BTW - Please ignore the pile of stabilizer scraps swept into the corner. LOL I have a bad habit of just tossing thread, fabric trimmings, etc. to the floor as I work since I always end up missing a trash can when I've used one in the past.

Cute skirt Lisa! I wont even mention the huge pile of stabilizer scraps in the corner...didn't even notice hardly at all! ;)

That is one happy little girl!

OMG!!! I have to make this
((deleted))
Can I link to an auction??? any way...PIPERPIZAZZ!!! I need you to make a knit pattern for this daisy for me:laughing: I have to make this!!

...t.

I think I can make that....Hmmmmm. It would also be cute as a winter hat? Or thinner for a younger toddler/baby. I really like that top too. Circles are easy to crochet. Thoses daisies would be adorable by themselves as bows. Cuuuuuute!

I think a green would look wonderful but the idea someone posted about blue intrigues me.
Speaking of the Tag Fairy, I had a dream about her! Can you believe that?!?! I was on the computer, of course reading the Dis, when these little butterfly-type fairies with wands started floating around the screen. They were all different colors. Some were blue, pink, yellow, purple, green, etc. And their wands sprinkled pixie dust. :wizard:

At first, I didn't know what was happening. Then I realized it was the Tag Fairy and I was getting tagged!

Isn't that funny?

When this happens, you know you spend too much time on the disboards.

Have you thought about trying to pull the blue/sky color out of the jungle print? I think that would brighten up the outfit a bit. Or using a goldenrod kinda color...something to help pop out the jungle print.

Okay, great minds think alike!!!!;) First, that is exactly what I looked at when I was at Walmart and I think I am going back to get it!!! Second, I saw this headband yesterday I think and knew I had to have it!!!! My dd11mo has like NO hair and I thought how cute this would be on her:cutie:
I just wish I knew how to crochet, maybe I can learn before Disney in oh about 6 weeks:rotfl:

2 questions: 1. What color fabric should I get to go with this? I bought black but now I am thinking maybe brown, tan, or green.:confused3

2. What fabric should I use for the bodice? I want to do a mickey head applique so I am thinking it should be whatever solid color I choose?
:confused3 Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA

I would go for a green. Very Animal Kingdom that way. I'd use it as the bodice and I'd then do the Mickey head applique in the animal print of all of the animals in the jungle!

I was going to suggest the exact same thing!!

She looks so proud of it! Dd8 helped make her Halloween skirt and she loved it long enough for pics!!!

Okay all you crocheters: t-beri has driven me to insanity thinking about this headband! I HAVE to have one for my baby!!!! Honestly, how hard would it be to figure this out? I would just buy the one on ebay but;
1. Hello it would cost $25.00!
2. It is really too big for my dd head. She has a small head!:confused3
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. TIA:)

There is a FREE crochet flower pattern on ycmt.com! You should check it out!

MY2ANGELS: I know I can knit the headband and if I can find a similar pattern for the daisy I can totally knit this headband for you b4 your trip. It may also be chilly then, I could probably do a beanie w/ the daisy too in case its cold. I'll look and see what I can find, If I'm making one for Liliana then I'll definitely have yarn leftover.

LISA- I bet Zoe was THRILLED!!! Mac made my mom let him sew the other day and he was SO proud that he made a pouch to keep his rocks in... I know she was just beaming when she told her teacher she sewed that skirt. Good teach them young!!! I think it's rare to find someone our age who does sew. I have friends who are like "I can only wear these jeans with THESE shoes b/c they drag on the ground otherwise" You should see their faces when I ask why they don't they just hem them!! Like "what's a hem?"

SPONGEMOMMIE If I don't get a chance to tell you again before you leave Have a wonderful trip. The weathers pretty nice here right now, you should have a great time!! Take some lightweight sweaters or jackets, it's been chilly in the evening/early mornings.

You are sooo totally sweet! I would love that and I would definitely pay you for doing it! I don't know if you saw my other post but there is a free flower pattern on ycmt.com! :cool1: I don't know if its the same but you would be able to tell!:)

Lori, that is so cute, I LOVE that fabric. I used to have a scottie dog. :goodvibes

These are so cool! I need to make some for Dh and Ds. I'll have to add it to my 'list' :rotfl:
You did a really good job. I like the yellow trim with the red.

I would probably just sew the skirt onto the front and have the back snap together. Though just skipping where the snaps are sounds easier and would get the job done too.
Ok, here are pics. They aren't great, but it's the best I can do for now.

This is for dgd to wear to Epcot. You might remember the twirl skirt I made for dd2, this goes with that.

Donno if anyone remember my Halloween skirts that I made a while back, but I FINALLY finished the shirts (all 4 of them). Here are some photos we took this past weekend. I never did get around to the bows or the braclets :confused3 .

I would probably knit the headband in ribbing and crochet the flower. Do you crochet?

She did a great job!

I just wanted to thank luv2go2disney for your generosity! I really appreciate your kindness! And thanks to teresajoy for your thoughtfullness as well! Everyone on this thread is SOOOOO NICE! I LOVE YOU GUYS:grouphug:

Awww Thanks! Someone may as well enjoy my Nemo Fabric. Knowing that you will benefit from it puts me in a better mood.

OT-Last weekend we went camping at Yogi Bear with our neighbors and our kids, DD6, DS5, DS 15mo. It was their first time ever camping and they were having a ball they wanted to do all of the activities, they were all especially excited to meet Yogi Bear. I knew the older kids were excited but to see him but my DS 15mo face lite up and he tried to give Yogi a high 5 and wanted hugs...It just made me really sad about not going to WDW this December. The last time we were there my DD loved it but my DS(3at the time) HATED ALL of the characters, so to see him finally be fine with a dingy Yogi when we could meet the Mouse...AGGHHH It just makes me mad that we can't go because I know all of the kids would really love it this time around!!! If we get to go next year my youngest will probably hate it... that is my luck! Sorry I just had to vent a little bit about my darn DH and the WDW veto!!!!

are there any you can make this codes? I need to get the stripwork jumper dress pattern.

Sorry to hear about not getting to go.:sad1: We went twice two years ago and this will make our third trip! :yay: However, I am a little anxious because my dd who will be a year old is terrified of things like that so I am afraid she is going to SCREAM if a character looks at her the wrong way! This could be a bad trip for her!:guilty: I hope she enjoys it though! Maybe she will be fine. I hope so!:confused3

Lisa- check TJ's links, if there are e-coupons or codes sometimes they're there.

Piperpizazz...I was thinking the same thing, knit the band in ribbing BUT NO I don't crochet!!! and I had a feeling that is what you were going to tell me to do!! I will have to have my mil do it. Crap! I am knitting the cutest cardigan sweater for Lily, though I am not very good at ripping back, you know I throw things away instead, so I figure I've gotta muster the patience to do it now!!

MY2ANGELS: I'd be happy to do it. I'll look into the flower and find a cute beanie pattern and get back w/ you!!

Thanks everyone, for the compliments on my girls and there outfits. We did get a ton of compliments and admirerers. Now, I gotta run, I have a ton of girl scout related stuff to get done, and not a lot of time to do it in.

I know how scary it is to have to let them put your child under anesthesia. My dd10 has had to go under many times for medical tests. I know that I have always felt much more secure at our children's hospital than at a regular hospital. There were just a few times that we ended up at the regular hospital that I noticed her being treated like a small adult instead of a child. Things are different for children and I think it is important for the people working on my child to be specialists.

As far as the pain goes, I think you'll be surprised at how quickly your dd will heal. I was so worried about Riley after her surgery (removal of a 4 pound tumor and most of her liver at 7 weeks) and the nurses and doctors explained how pain works to me. Apparently as adults we are a bunch of big babies and things hurt us worse because we "know" they hurt. Your dd won't be expecting pain so she will feel much less. They showed me a little girl who had open heart surgery that morning and was sitting up. I guess when an adult has the same procedure it is at least 5 days before they even sit up!

Riley was practically cut in half under her ribs and I was scared to death to pick her up because I didn't want to hurt her. The nurse plopped her in my arms and everything was fine. You'll have my prayers because I know how scary it is, but I hope you won't worry too much!
Wow, what you must have been going through! That had to be so hard.

Awww, we love you too!
If he had the "real" jeans instead of these practical joke type ones, that may have been helpful.
I have to stop drinking stuff while looking at this board! My keyboard can't take much more coffee spit on it!
Ok, here are pics. They aren't great, but it's the best I can do for now.

CUTE CUTE CUTE!!! I love Nemo! Are we going to be able to see pictures of your DGD?

This is the pink/black Mickey skirt that I tried and failed twice! I didn't want a full-on twirl skirt, but that's what I had to do in the end to make it work. She didn't like the top I made cuz it covers too much of the skirt! It's just a black T with a Mickey made of the dots fabric. I'm gonna try to shorten it later.
th_pinkblack.jpg

This is cute! I like the way it turned out.

This is like a tshirt dress, only it's shorter. It's a twirly top!

Very cute Twirly top!!!

And here a is a sneak peek at the Jasmine outfit I'm making for dd8 to wear to CRT...

I love these fabrics!!! I can't wait to see it done!

Because everyone is showing off bows and talking about them I thought I would show you some of ours
DSCF1687.jpg

These are just a few we still need more!!!!
I love these bows!!! I was trying to figure out which one I liked best, but I can't! They are all great!

:grouphug: Yes, I think putting them under is out worst fear. My 2yo goes Monday for surgery and an overnight hospital stay. He is getting his tonsils out, adenoids out and ear tubs in. Its the anesthesia that scared me most. You would think I would be used to it by now. He is my 3rd child to go under in the past year and a half. Last April my no 3yo had a toe removed, than this past august my 8yo has tubes put it. I have no idea what it is with the ear tubes.. not history of chronic ear inections..

Man, that was a lot to go through! :grouphug: Is everyone doing ok now?

my DD's won't wear any type of hair piece. It's like, well, pulling hair to get them to wear one.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Susan, thank you for adding a pic of your DD..It is painful to think of that gorgeous creature going through the things you told us. I hadn't mentioned it before but having lost my sister for 8 hours (she was kidnapped) I can't imagine what it would have been like to have been missing her for so long. I can't tell you how glad I am that you have found her.
...t.
That had to be so scary! How old was your sister?

I don't know if there is a season, but I know if it weren't for Tequilla, I would not have my oldest DS!!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Any chance he will change his mind? :grouphug: I feel for you!

Messed up the quote thing...oops
TJ:
That had to be so scary! How old was your sister?

She was 24. Her exboyfriend (extremely abusive- steroid induced no necked...) hid in her trunk the morning she was on her way to an injunction hearing against him and once she was on the way he crawled through the backseat (her care could access the trunk that way) and forced her into the passenger side- which had a busted door handle (he broke!) and the window mechanics only worked from the driver side so she was basically trapped.
Her advocate called from the courthouse wanting to know where she was (way after the trial should have been done w/) and said she never showed up. We said "he's got to have her, call the cops!!!" but the cops thought we were over reacting. They said that lots of abused girls change their minds and don't show for the hearing and she was just hiding out b/c she was too embarrassed to tell us. We knew better. He had held her against her will (oddly enough on the way home from MNSSHP that year) in a hotel room for 2 days and beat her from head to toe- with their 2 yo son in the room. He told her several times he was taking her home only to turn around and go the other way again. He kept turning her cell phone off but she would find a way to turn it back on again until finally he let her take a call from a girlfriend. She convinced him that by not answering her phone her friend would think something was up. Her girlfriend stayed on the phone w/ me and I was on the cell phone w/ my mom who was on her cell phone w/ the cops. We had 4 trucks on the road plus the cops trying to find them eventually they were able to triangulate her cell service. Her friend was amazing, especially for a 24 yo. She just asked Rae yes or no questions so Rob wouldn't think she was telling her anything. Like "are you still in hernando county?" "are you in your car or Rob's car" stuff that would help us get good info to the cops. Finally they were able to triangulate her cell phone and LUCKILY her car broke down and they were able to catch him. He is still in jail. But got far less time than he deserved!!!
When you say your sister was kidnapped people are shocked, then you say she was 24 and they are unimpressed, like oh, she wasn't "really" kidnapped. But she was REALLY kidnapped. it wasn't like she went to meet him somewhere and was just being held against her will. And yes it was scary!!!

I love the fabrics! I like T.s idea about the blue.

I know, I have the best ideas!!
