Okay, get ready for lots of (large) pictures! This week I made these skirts for DDs. They are the YCMT double layer twirl skirt. They were actually very easy. I sort of had to wing it on DDs because she is a size 10 but the pattern was not difficult--no pattern pieces to print or tape, just lots of math. In hindsight I may have made the stripwork layer a little longer, but overall I'm happy with how they turned out. I made one for DD2 and DD10 said "I want one!" so I just made hers a little less full (actually other than the dropwaist panel the skirts are the same width.) I am very fortunate to have a DD10 that still loves the girly "frou-frou" stuff. In fact, my Dniece, who is a very stylish and beautiful 19-year-old saw the skirts today and said she wanted me to make one for her too

I just tried to make DD10s a little older with her boots and jacket.
Looking for "birdies" with her pirate telescope:
The Minnie shoes that she won't really get to wear with this outfit because they are about 2 sizes too big but I had to buy them anyway because they were only $8 at Disney shopping.com (hard to find, somewhere in costume accessories). But hey, it's an excuse to plan another Disney trip when they do fit!
And finally, after much practice, appliqueing is actually getting easier! Not that I'm good at it but I'm just thrilled that I'm getting better. I've finally figured out that it works much better to go SLOW! I do still get a little fabric fray on the edges where I get a little close with the outside edge of my stitch.
