Really cute...what did you use for the applique on the shirt? Isn't that hello kitty fabric adorable?

I can't take credit for the shirt - I bought it from Target, and it matched the skirt pretty well, I think! I love that Hello Kitty fabric, and it is perfect for my dd since she loves Hello Kitty.

Cute hat and I love the princess inspired outfits! I like the seashell idea!

My WM will match all ads unless they are from online. So be careful about telling them you printed the ad from online. I had a cashier tell me that and let mine slide. I don't know how they can not match from out of town, I didn't know each WM would have different policies on that! I'd check w/the manager on that one! I live in the middle of nowhere and WM is all we have, everything else is at least 45m away!

Thanks! I've had people in 3 different W-M in 2 states tell me they wouldn't price match Hobby Lobby or Hancock because there wasn't one close by. I don't know if the policy varies by store or what.

No willing model , but here is my outfit from... well you know. I think I am going to make a red peasant top to match using the red (Bottom ruffle) fabric, but wouldn't you know it, not enough fabric!! I have to get more anyway for DN's set. I even made covered buttons!

This is so cute! I love the turkey applique.

I sooooo love this turkey fabric. I REALLY don't need to buy anymore fabric right now & I KNOW I couldn't get another outfit done before Thanksgiving, but I really really want it.

I think the skirt looks good. I really like the fabric combo.

Okay, I have been sewing like mad, and here is my creation!:woohoo:

What do you think? You guys have given me such great ideas! I am going to start on my other daughter's dress now. I got a black and white polka dot material, and I am going to accent with red. I love this topic!

I LOVE this! That fabric is just great. There are so many great things to do with it.

Hi Everyone,

Well, here is my try at a patchwork twirl skirt - im sewing while DH is watching the NASCAR race! He keeps making me stop so he can hear better! lol!!!

The skirt looks great! I have the same problem with dh only it's usually 'stop sewing so I can hear the cut scene' (in whatever video game he's playing).

Alright here is the double layer twirl skirt that I made to match the lime green mickey head tee. I didn't use a pattern so I think it may be a little too twirly but oh well.
disboutique071.jpg

I think it looks great & there's no such thing as too much twirl. Just ask my 4 year old.

Ok, someone help me out here. I tried everything to do a multiquote reply and I can't figure it out. Someone who has some computer savvy....HELP, I am computerchallenged...

TSNCS.. I just wanted to say that not everyone here knows it but I am a Tiffany with an I too, but I have only 1 F.
Dorky, right? But you don't meet many Tiffanys.

...t.

Nice to meet you! Yes, my parents decided to spell my name in a unique way, and I could never find anything that had my name spelled right. Which, as a kid, drove me crazy! You don't see many Tiffani's around, though. :rotfl:

OK , now I can come back to the thread...that Green Bay game was INTENSE! seriously!
GO PACKERS:woohoo: :woohoo: :cheer2:

So, I have to ask! Where have you guys found the adorable green/purple polka dot fabric to go with the previous Tink and this Monsters outfit??? :confused3

I haven't found it and I haven't been able to find anything that matches the Monsters fabric yet. My youngest DDs favorite characters are Tink and Boo from Monsters, so I found the Monsters fabric on eBay, but I can't find anything that goes with it.

Thanks tons...
I think I've seen it at Walmart

Go EAGLES!!!
:cheer2:
Go #24 in the Drive for 5!!!
:cheer2:
DH had a good sports weekend!!! As long as I can keep sewing, he can keep watching!!!

I was always amazed at how pretty her daughter was, and her gorgeous front yard. She sewed all the outfits she made her kids by hand too. I didn't know her real well either, but I always liked to see her posting here. I didn't realize that her little boy was so close in age to Sawyer. They are cute at any age, but at this age they are just so FULL of joy and happiness, it just breaks my heart.

Here are links to two of her posts she made here:

What is really touching is to click on the link to her trip report and see that darling little boy...I can't imagine the heartache. God bless them all.

Thanks for posting those. I thought I remembered her and this helped. I loved that ice cream dress. What a terrible tragedy. A mom's worst nightmare. :sad1:

For those of you who read my story about DD and addiction, I put a photo of her and her baby in my signature. Hard to imagine that I almost lost that beautiful creature...how I love her and thank God for her and that little baby boy.

I forgot that I was going to ask you where you got your daughter's beaded headband. That is really cute.

Thanks! I sort of CASEd it off of voldemort. I've been making bracelets for DDs for a while now and I just looked really close at some pictures and tried to make it with some beads I had lying around. I thought for sure it was a failure and would not stay on until I put her hair in the ponies with the big bows and magically it stayed on--ALL DAY--through church, a party at my nephews house, a 3 hour nap. I was pretty surprised. I guess between her ears and the big bows it didn't have far to go, but I did have a couple of bobby pins stuck in there just in case, but she doesn't have much hair to hold them in.

Oh that is so cute! I showed my daughter and I told her that I just love your baby's smile. She tried to tell me that she was not a baby, but anyone younger than my daughter (age 5) is a baby to me. I just love those cheeks! And your older daughter matching is so nice!

Of course it is not too twirly, silly! My daughter said, hey, that's my fabric! She loves the outfit I made with it. Let's hear it for the the twirly girls!

I loved your Turkey outfit, it gave me some motivation to get started on mine!! (And it seems to be doing good over on Voldemort...are we still using that code word?!)

I've started DD's Turkey outfit. The first one is for my neice. The top is done - it's a little longer without the ruffle, and the turkey applique is done. I like DD's set even better! I used the brighter red (the ruffle on the jeans) and a darker pair of jeans. The colors really pop on the new set. Got a question for everyone, Should I do the applique like the first set using the turkey fabric, of using different fabrics. (like the tailfeathers) Here's a pic. as a reminder.

th_IMG_2154.jpg
th_IMG_2153.jpg

I like it with the red. I originally wanted the trim for mine in red but I was overruled by the little dictator. I think your turkey applique is great and I would do it the same. In fact, could you do one more for me, lol!

I just can't stop crying. I don't remember AKsunshine, but I remember her little girl from the pictures on here. Little Levi was only 17 months old. My son is 16 months old, so this hits really close to home. He was a beautiful little boy. Tessa is sitting next to me and when I told her why I was crying, she said "He is safe with God."

Sorry that I haven't commented on the outfits and such, but I am so upset right now.

My husband asked me what was wrong and when I told him I expected him to say something like you don't even know these people, but he said, thanks, now I am sad too. That family will get a lot of prayers tonight.

I just bought that same Hello Kitty fabric today at the insistence of my daughter. She already has two Halloween outfits, I guess I could CASE your skirt and do one more, right?

Wow, she's beautiful. It's hard to imagine her addicted to anything. I'm so glad it all worked out for you and your family.

I loved that ice cream dress too. It started my mad hunt for ice cream fabric a few months ago.

I saw that you posted Nicholas's picture a minute ago, and was hoping you would add all your grandkids! I didn't realize you had 4 grandbabies! I must have missed little Connor. They are all so beautiful! No wonder you are such a proud granmda!

I just love it! It really did stay on good! Through a nap??! Wow! Is it stretchy?

Brian saw me posting the links to the ice cream dress, and he said something about how cute Alicia's daughter was. I told him what happened, and he is really upset about it too. Yes, Alicia and her family will be getting lots of prayers from her Dis family. :grouphug:

Hmmm...that's a tough one...I may need another hint...LOL...
I had a great time with you and your family. I bought the pictures of the girls with Elmo..they were too cute... Thanks for letting us borrow your VIP status to get us good seats at the show...LOL. We just got home and we are exhausted. Ireland is sleeping with her picture under her pillow and is determined to see your daughter again, on the way home, she told me that she misses her already and (insert whiney voice) just has to play with her again... I will post the photo tomorrow if you don't mind, or I can email it to you. Also let me know, thru PM, if you want to get together again. We can always hit the mall, or fabric hunt...LOL. Thanks again for everything. You are too sweet, and great job on the pirate costume...Loved it!!-- Lisa

no fair you cheated LOL
I don't mind if you don't mind :)
Morgan was all excited to ride It's a small world today so she could see "Ireland" :lmao:

WOOHOO:woohoo: :woohoo: :cheer2: GO BUCS!!!:cheer2:

Be nice now!!!! There might be a Titans fan among us!!! :rolleyes1

Absolutely adorable!!!! One of my favorites!

Is it elastic?

Susan, she is gorgeous!!

We got our family pictures out of the way!!!! My nephew did a great job. There were some really great ones from the time he came to my house. There was one that was hilarious of Drew 5, twisting Riley 10's ear and she is just smiling into the camera like a little model while Riley's face is all scrunched up! It very much shows who they really are.

I was feeling disgusting while I did the pictures. I have several zits, my muffin top was bad (even with the support top hose with the legs cut off that I wore to try to disguise it) and the hair just wasn't working. Riley's was o.k., but poor Drew's just went back to it's original state no matter what I did. Oh well. It's a picture of us how we really are, very imperfect!!!!

Can't wait to get sewing again! I'll have to post a pic of Drew in the dress I made her for today when I get on tomorrow.

TeresaJoy was right!

I met Castlecreations yesterday. Totally unplanned! LOL. My DD and I went to Sea World (she NEEDED a place to wear her non-Disney pirate dress). As we were wandering around, I spied HAIRBOWS I recognized :goodvibes from this site. The outift threw me (Castle did your little one wear that outfit in the pictures you posted before?) for a minute but I recognized the ponytails!

I approached the Mom and asked if she was Dis'er. It was Castlecreations. :cutie: Our girls became fast friends as they watched the Elmo Halloween show.

This was taken moments after they met!

Post 250.. post 255 has a pic.

Oh, this is so sad.:sad1: My thoughts and prayers are with their family. I read the post and it looks like the other driver ran a red light. I can only imagine how they feel and if it was me, my rage at that. On the other hand it appears the other driver was only 18 and I can only imagine what the rest of his life will be like. As a former teacher of high school/middle school I know how crazy kids are at that age but they would never want that to happen and often cannot imagine that it would happen. My prayers are with him also. Just thinking about something happening to my DD's makes me crazy and I pray for the family's strength.

WOW lots of choices at sewzennes. I am going to have to shop that one. I got a Burda pattern that is for stretch knits only and it had leggings which I want to make for Makayla. Only way she will be able to wear any of the things I have planned for her this winter. Thanks a million! I know what you mean about tee's. Nothing fits her in a teeshirt...I love to custom make everytrhing to fit her just "so".

Love that Zoe...what a pretty kid...she is growing up so fast...it doesn't take long, unfortunately. Both of you are so blessed. I get teary eyed every time I see the two of you. Adoption is so wonderful. Susan

Ooh, another site where I love the fabric! You guys have great sites! I wish my sewing abilities were up to the more expensive fabric but not just yet! One of these days maybe.

Okay, get ready for lots of (large) pictures! This week I made these skirts for DDs. They are the YCMT double layer twirl skirt. They were actually very easy. I sort of had to wing it on DDs because she is a size 10 but the pattern was not difficult--no pattern pieces to print or tape, just lots of math. In hindsight I may have made the stripwork layer a little longer, but overall I'm happy with how they turned out. I made one for DD2 and DD10 said "I want one!" so I just made hers a little less full (actually other than the dropwaist panel the skirts are the same width.) I am very fortunate to have a DD10 that still loves the girly "frou-frou" stuff. In fact, my Dniece, who is a very stylish and beautiful 19-year-old saw the skirts today and said she wanted me to make one for her too :rotfl: I just tried to make DD10s a little older with her boots and jacket.

Looking for "birdies" with her pirate telescope:

th_DSCN2579.jpg

The Minnie shoes that she won't really get to wear with this outfit because they are about 2 sizes too big but I had to buy them anyway because they were only $8 at Disney shopping.com (hard to find, somewhere in costume accessories). But hey, it's an excuse to plan another Disney trip when they do fit!

th_DSCN2577.jpg

th_DSCN2581.jpg

th_DSCN2584.jpg

And finally, after much practice, appliqueing is actually getting easier! Not that I'm good at it but I'm just thrilled that I'm getting better. I've finally figured out that it works much better to go SLOW! I do still get a little fabric fray on the edges where I get a little close with the outside edge of my stitch.

th_DSCN2587.jpg

I love your outfits! We have the Minnie Mouse shoes too for Halloween. DD's are going as Minnie and I bought the shoes for them on sale. Their dresses are homemade but I couldn't pass up the shoes! I'll post pictures of them soon! Almost done! DD10 looks like she likes matching her little sister. That is so fantastic! I love knowing that even after they get older they will still appreciate things like this.

Alright here is the double layer twirl skirt that I made to match the lime green mickey head tee. I didn't use a pattern so I think it may be a little too twirly but oh well. I hate to pay for something that I think I can figure out for myself. ;) The girls like them and I got a cool from a friend that was over so I guess they'll work.
