Thanks, She loved wearing it! My hubby was not a big fan of it. he doesn't like the "fluffly" look as he calls it!

Very cute set! Did you use a pattern for the pants? I would like to find a pattern for a pair of boy's shorts and make my 2yo ds a pair of Disney Cars shorts. He loves cars, and all he wants to wear is his cars tshirt.

I always use patterns for pants etc. I like the simplicity patterns for pants the most. All are the same, just find a pattern w/ a boy on the front with the size you want. they are all the same, it is pretty universal among the patterns.

I am hoping to get some pics monday, and I will post them as soon as he cooperates!!! Nicholas is 15m old and thinks he is "King" of the house!

I think that is happening a lot lately. Thanks for the compliments. we took pictures for a friend of ours. She was so happy to see her picture up. I read it alot and don't always post pics... so when they saw the other kids they wanted to see themselves up. The 3 year old went running to daddy "look I'm on the internet!" Geesh that was something I never said as a kid! HEHE times have changed!

Nicholas has not had a chance to wear it. I will take pics of him in it on monday! It is just starting to get cool enough to wear pants at night now!!

Question for you all. I always topstitch every ruffle - or tier to make it lay nicely. Do you all do that? Or does it just lay right for you anyway? For me it just "finishes" the outfit - but I was curious what the majority here does.

I try to topstitch where I can, it helps make a finished look and lay nicely. especially after you wash it. if it was not topstitched it never lays correct out of the dryer!

After discussing t-shirt dresses and nightgowns on this thread earlier today, I decided to give it a shot. I'd made a tee and leggings last week with the intention of adding a patchwork skirt of cotton woven but once I put the patchwork with the knit, I just didn't like the combination. The patchwork became a skirt for Zoe and the half tee and leggings were put aside. After getting the idea to make a nightgown t-shirt dress, I looked through my flannel and found one that looks like it was meant to be paired with the knit I used for the tee and leggings. I'm not totally satisfied with the rippling where the knit and flannel are seamed but it's not bad and should be warm and cozy... a definite plus for PJs.

I topstitch some but not all. If I'm not going to topstitch, I make sure to iron the seam well after stitching one tier to the next and before I sew them to the next tier. It really helps to get the ruffles to hang nicely. I think the key is to make sure the fabric is being cut on the grain. If you get off grain, things don't hang as nicely so topstitching definitely helps.

BTW - I don't iron Zoe's tiered skirts after they're done. I wash, hang to dry and toss them in the dryer for 15-20 minutes after spritzing a bit with water. It's not perfect but I figure they'll wrinkle anyway the first time she sits... it's not because I'm too lazy, really.

I finally dusted off my sewing machine, and got to work...and completed my first project. Keep in mind that I am a newbie at sewing, so it is definitely not perfect. I made the skirt, but the t-shirt is from Target...do you think the skirt look OK with it, and do you think the skirt is wearable by my 4 yo to the pumpkin patch field trip on Monday? Since this is my first skirt, I am just really paranoid that it just scream "IMPERFECT" to everyone! I am really not sure about my fabric choice....what do you think?

One day, I hope to be just as creative as all of you here...but for now, I am sticking with the simple things!

I'm sure your DD will love wearing to the pumpkin patch. We went to pick our pumpkins today-the pumpkins were very small this year My DD wore her tutu with jeans it only made it to the 60's today. Tell your DD to have a great time!!!

I don't know how I missed this!!!!!!!!! I love the colors and you did a great job! Sewing is just like Nascar, just put the pedal to the metal, steer and hope like he## that you don't destroy something!!!

Here it is...

When I make another one (this is actually my second) I will
1) Buy the right size tee
2) Cut more of the actual tee off...starting with the material higher
3) Measure my child

Well at least you didnt "make up" your own pattern...which I did big mistake!
My DD's just love this and said so while walking by the computer!!!!!!

Awwwwww that is so cool! I love the colors and it looks really comfy! I have three girls and PJs are generally so expensive and rarely on sale. Why is that? Perhaps I should make them. It might be cheaper?! You did a great job!

Since we do not have the JoAnn's Superstores at least 4 of the Walmarts have kept their fabric depts and one new one put in a FULL size fabric Dept!!! I will bring along a yard or so with me of the ones which will work.....I am really looking forward to going to Hobby Lobby. BTW Everyone I will have pictures after the FL trip of a Mulan Costume I designed for Emily's Birthday...I made it with a BACK ZIPPER and one piece so the angled over skirt and Obi won't get lost and the whole costume is easier for a child to get on....I'm pretty proud of my re-design, I really love a challenge! Emily is a stitch!! When I told her I was finishing the Mulan outfit she said (with ATTITUDE) "Which One?" . I guess for X-mas I'll have to make the other one...I guess it is another session of watching the movie again...I had to do that when she requested "Ariel's Dinner Dress" and "The Kiss-the -Girl Dress"... At the time I did'nt realize Ariel even had a dinner dress. I also am completing three costume for someone who has their children being dressed with the theme of Colonial Williamsburg. I have made a Non-Disney Pocahontas, Colonial boy's shirt and vest, and a little (18 month size) Colonial Girl's Dress (Think Elizabeth Swan's Dress style only in Williamsburg Green (sage)) I'll be posting those pictures soon. I have'nt even started the costumes for my DGDs yet....YIKES...Thank Goodness Alikat99's is making her girls costumes...unless she has me HELP her when I'm down there... Nana

Hello everybody! I am about 50 pages behind and trying to catch up. We had a blast and can't wait to go back in December I didn't get a chance to post the no sew patches I made for DH and me to wear on our matching jeans at MNSSHP before we left. Here they are. Zero, Oogie Boogie and the moon and hilltop I did. The other patches I got off of Voldemort. The Jack and Sally shirts were on sale for $4.99 at the DIsney Store! Thank you Jessica52877 for pointing me in the right direction.

I did wear my first very project that I posted a few weeks ago to Epcot and a lady waiting to ride on Soarin noticed and commented The revamp of Haunted Mansion is wonderful and Nemo the Musical was fantastic!

I LOVE all of the outfits everyone has ben busy making and am inspired to try my hand at a few more!

I am not really trying to choke DH just goofing around

That's cute! I've done the same thing - tried to guess at measurements while Zoe was sleeping and went VERY wrong. I made a pair of pants recently that I'd cut out last year. I knew they'd still fit but thought length would be too short so I added a cuff of a solid color. Well, once I had her try them on I saw they'd have been just a bit long without the cuff. Yesterday I decided to measure her and actually write down the measurements! What I novel idea, I know. It'll save me from the attitude I get after asking her to stop what she's doing to let me measure her... again.

Unfortunately my rolls don't have much to lift. Maybe if I get some really high waisted tight jeans, I can use the rolls as filler rather than lifters.

Wow!! I think it's funny that we make measuring (or guestimating) mistakes!!

I like your comment about your "girls" as well. If I wasn't 90 pounds overweight, I'd have nothing to comment on...trust me!!

I don't topstitch,, I ricky rack, or rickety wack or whatever it is we're supposed to call rick rack! It finishes off the edges nicely, AND hides little mistakes all at once!!

How many different materials did you use? I wanted to make one of these this year, but simply ran out of time!! I think I have 15 different prints/plaids/ginghams that could be used for Halloween!!

Lisa, what fabric did you use for the leggings/pants? I have wanted to make leggings for Makayla's skirts (too cold here to wear a skirt alone anymore), but I can't find a cotton knit...any ideas where to find something and what worked for you? We don't have a Hobby Lobby or Hancocks here...darn.
