This is great! It looks like a "real" cheerleader outfit!! I want to make something like this for Tessa. Which pattern did you start with and why didn't you finish with it?

:scared1: You're a FRAUD!! :rotfl2: No, you get lots of credit for your wonderful taste! Your kids look adorable and the outfits are great! I love the bracelet from your mom, too. What a special thing for your daughter to have.

I am SO happy to hear that you like Nana's stuff!! You wouldn't believe that it has taken me YEARS of continuing to tell her how well she sews, before she would do stuff for others!! I'm so lucky that she's my mom and she tries out her "prototypes" on my girls and my neices!! They are 5 lucky little girls!!

Thank You so much for both this and taking the time to phone me about the Costume. I am so happy you are pleased and appreciate the attention to details I put into every project I make. BTW The Aurora Dress probably overshadowed the Pirate Capri Set but did you like that also? Thanks Again! Nana

Wow! Congrats on the adoption!   Keep us up to date on your little one's surgery. It sound like you'll be having a busy couple of months!

Thank you and yes it looks like my next portion of my life is going to be insane. I was thinking it might slow down after DS's recovery but then I though ... you will have SIX kids. The slow life is going to be gone. :rotfl: I am so ready to run the rat race though! :dance3: :cloud9:

Hi Everyone - All the new outfits look so great!!! Love the fabrics you have all found!!!

HELP WITH RUFFLER!!!
Okay - so DH got the ruffler attached and it works BUT when I try to sew the 2 layers of the twirl skirt together, I am left over with a bunch of the 2nd layer - what am I doing wrong? Is it the adjustments? does anyone have a suggestion for the setting? THanks so much!! Wendy

COOL! I live in the Spring Hill area - we're pretty close! We should get together and sew sometime!

Actually they had a shirt only that was in adult sizes. They didn't have just the shirt in kids sizes, so I had to buy the kit. The ones in adult sizes were actually a little better, but I don't remember the price.

I just noticed that you and my dad live in the same town....Howdy...LOL

Ok, here is a couple of more outfits...Our DS is not too excited about: 1) posing for this picture 2) having to dress like his sister :sad2: OH WELL it's just for one day...it's not going to kill him. I also included one of the pics I already included to show they "match"
(Our Minnie outfit is kind of big still, need to have it taken in a little bit)

I posted this earlier in another thread...My mother went to Disney Land when she was 5 (I believe) in 1959, today she gave her souvenir charm bracelet to my DD....isn't it sweet? It looks pretty good, it's a little tarnished, I am going to take it to our jeweler and see if they can "spruce" it up a little.

I know that I've seen liquid gold, or something like that, that you can dip the jewelry in it and it gives it a new coat, and looks brand new. Ask your local jeweler about it. They might have it there and it would only be a few dollars.

2. Would you look at those cute little redheads...I bet they're just rotten. I know how those redheaded kids are!!
My redhead is a perfect little angel. Until she ISN'T, then watch out!!!
And, now, I am going to tell a completely off topic story, and I am NOT going to apologize for it, becasue my sister said I can't!

When Lydia was about 1 1/2, she had some money. A dollar or something I think. Corey wanted to see how much it was, so he went to take it to look at it. I'm pretty sure steam started coming out of that little head of hers, and she was literally SHAKING with RAGE and she said SCREAMED at him,
"DON'T TAKEUH MYYYYY MONNNNNNNNNNNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Seriously, I was scared for Corey's safety!! I tried to yell, "RUN COREY, RUN!!!" But, I was laughing too hard.

:goodvibes Thanks! I actually got to take 50 lbs off my drivers license last week that was very cool!

Awww they're so cute! The tutu is cute too of course!
   WOW!!! That is fantastic!!!!
My name is Brenna, and I took my sewing machine to Disneyworld with me. You heard that right ladies and Tom -- I didn't get done with all the outfits I had planned, so my machine made the 8 hour trip to Mickey's house. I stayed up really late the night before we left trying to finish DD's Epcot outfit. I got overtired and just couldn't finish. As I crawled into bed, I told my DH how sad I was that Lily wouldn't get her last outfit and he sleepily replied that he had left a spot in the van for my machine. How I love that man!

And my favorite --- this is how you know the trip to Disney was worth the $$$

Oh my, he saved a spot for your sewing machine!!!???? How wonderful!

Your twins are so cute!!!! I love the outfits. I also love their cute little crocs!!

The Doodlebops scare me, but not as bad as LazyTown. :scared1:

Yeah, at least you "cracky" yourself up. I would just like to apologize for my sister's spelling. She had ITA (a weird phonetically spelled way to teach kids to read) in elementary school and still hasn't recovered. Now, what's my excuse?
Oh yeah, well, maybe I MEANT to say CRACKY!!! Ever think of that smarty pants???

:
Can't help you with the crocs. But, haven't you noticed that we are almost always "off topic"? Heck, what is the topic on this thread, anyway? :rotfl2:
So, we need a new rule, no apologizing for being off-topic! Sorry, wasn't yelling at you. I just know that most don't read my obnoxiously long multi-quotes and I didn't want them to miss the new rule! :lmao:

:rotfl2: You are too funny!!! I love it!
:
I just checked out his music and I must be OLD because I really like it!:lmao: In fact, I'm listening Lesser of 2 Evils right now.

I listened to that a few days ago, and it's been running through my head ever since!!! I really like his music!

Guess what I did today? I made this!

th_HSMdress.jpg

DD LOVES HSM and I wanted something "washable' she could wear to the parks.

I started with a pattern and then did it my own way.

yeah it is done!!!!!

Cindee

Cindee, that is cute!!!! Red and white are my hometown colors (not to be confused with where I live now, which is purple and white) Maybe that's why I like that movie so much??

Anyway, this is just adoreable!!! You did a really great job!

These outfits are great!!! You have very good taste!!! Your kids are just so darn cute!

I love the bracelet!! That is fantastic!

UH UH UH!!! WHHAAATTT???? ;)

Oh, we forgive you!!! Like I said, you have great taste!

This is great! It looks like a "real" cheerleader outfit!! I want to make something like this for Tessa. Which pattern did you start with and why didn't you finish with it?

Tessa would look so cute in that!!! You make Tessa a red and white one, and I'll make Lydia a purple and white one!

Now back to our regularly scheduled sewing :happytv:

ETA Some wonderful ladies have helped me out! Thank you!!!!!
OK this is a little off subject....Ok WAY off subject, but does anyone know where you can find the fuschia and purple disney crocs? I see them on ebay, but never in my daughter's size. She is really wanting a pair and I don't know where to get them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA:)

I would also check out www.shoebuy.com (they usually have a coupon code out there but there is no tax and free shipping and free returns) or www.zappos.com.

UtahMama - glad you're back! Can't wait to see pics from your trip!!

MoeFam- what a couple of cuties you have! Love the tutu!

I had the harsh realization that is is OCTOBER! That means I have a mere two months before our trip - ACK! I have many more customs to make and many pounds to lose! These two months are going to fly by - I hope I can get it all done!!

I have, however, finished the scary princess/witch costume for DD. I was trying to get her to make a scary face, but she just kept looking at her brother. Also, it doesn't show up real well in the pic, but the black fabric has silver glitter all through it, so the silver rick rack ties in much better in person.

scaryprincess1.jpg

So, now to go and rip yards and yards of muslin for a mummy costume. . .

Love the witch costume! It's gorgeous!

Okay, I had to take some time off from this board -- I found myself reading more than I was sewing. We've been back from Disneyworld for 3 weeks now and I thought it was time that I posted a few pics and bare my soul to you all. It's time for True Confessions...Disney edition...

Anyway -- here are a few pics of the twins. There are no good ones that show their outfits. The unfortunate thing about photographing almost 2 year old twins is that they never stop, and they are consistently 10 feet apart if you let them out of the stroller. There was even one set of customs that I didn't even get one picture in. Frustrating...but this is my life. Now I have to finish Halloween and Christmas outfits.

Oh, and by the way -- the Doodlebops put on quite a show. My kids are Doodlebops crazy (hence the overalls for their performance at MGM). DH and I were not so crazy about them until we saw them live. They are terrific performers and you can tell they genuinely care about children. And now DH thinks that DeeDee Doodle is hot...:rolleyes1

And my favorite --- this is how you know the trip to Disney was worth the $$$

I love that you took your sewing machine! Too funny!

The Doodlebops scare me, but not as bad as LazyTown. :scared1:

Both shows scare me! Thank God my kids don't watch either one, I actually always turn them both off so they don't really get a chance. I actually think Lazy Town is creepy...why is that adult man always hanging out with the pink haired little girl. Yuck!

I actually figured out how to multi-quote! Yeah!

I am a little technically challenged and this is the only board I've ever been on so I'm new to this. Now if I could just figure out how to shrink the pictures so they're not so big when I respond. Any help would be appreciated!

I took Mya to a Doodlebops show last year when they went on tour for the first time and "I" loved it! They do put on a great show. I was just telling this lady in one of my classes she should take her 4yr old twins. Of course...that was before I'd discovered the world of customs so she just wore regular old clothes...the horror, lol!!

We're going to "when elmo grows up" on Saturday and I have the fabric bought and outfit planned...I just need to make it between now and then!!

You put th_ in front of the image name. so this: http:/ /i222.photobu cket.com/albums/ dd41/asfarrell /disneylandbracelet.jpg

Would be this htt p://i222.photobucket. com/albums/ dd41/asfarrell/th_disneylandbracelet.jpg

I agree Both the doodlebops & Lazytown are plain creepy- But I think Doodlebops is more obnoxious!!

Ok I think I want to try a TuTu I bought the elastic- 1/2 inch. wide and two rolls of tulle- red & Chocolate (otherwise known as Brown). So now What?????

Also I have decided to give a go at the Belle in the blue dress for my halloween costume- so following the advice of a poster who had made hers- does anyone have advice about where to get a dirndl dress pattern???

Nana, we did get the pirate set which is swashbucklingly adorable but I was swooooning and swaying around the room with the Aurora dress in such a fashion that I forgot about the sweet capri set. (I certainly do love that too)

I just noticed that you and my dad live in the same town....Howdy...LOL

WOW! It's a SMALL WORLD! Ms_McKenna and I just realized that we live close to each other through this thread. You never know how you're gonna meet a neighbor!

I just saw a pattern for crochet santa skull cap. It is so cute. Times like this I wish I had learned to crochet.

If anybody wants to see it look at ycmt site.
