Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 4

I can barely ice a cake without crumbs getting in the frosting. I could never spend so much time on something that is going to be cut up and eaten. But I love to watch Ace of Cakes.

I've never been able to eat one bite of the cakes I've made, including my wedding cake, all that hard work and poof it's gone, but the look on my daughter's face or DN is always priceless. My mom always made us kids a cake for our birthday, it was kind of neat to see what were into during that year of life. Unfortunately nearly all our pictures vanished.:guilty:

Hey Ladies,

I have been reading your thread for probably the last 100 pages and today I decided to jump in and post.

I have a 2 year old princess who loves to dress girly and all things Disney. I went to Wal-Mart and was able to find the Minnie polka dot fabric today. Bought all of one roll and about to kick myself that I didn't buy the other one.

So now I have the fabric, but am in serious need of ideas. I would like to make my daughter a cute outfit with the material, but I am fairly new to sewing. Anyone have some simple patterns or ideas that I can start with?

Thanks.

My latest creation...

That is a great cake! I love the 'cheese' icing.

That's not how I read it.... Anyway what about past auctions?...I was about to post about one that ended several days ago... Oh heck here it is anyway...
Does anyone know what was so special about this outfit for it going so high? $736 ouch!

I don't get it either. That's an insane amount of money for one outfit. Seriously, it's more than my mortgage!

My latest creation...

This one went to my neice. So it's back to the sewing machine to make another one for DD.

I forgot the whiskers, but the pants were already stitched back up by the time I realized this. Oh well! Hello Kitty was actually easier thean the pre-made princess panels! It's not purrfect but not bad either!

I love it! I'm glad dd4 is napping, 'cause she'd want one too & I don't have time to add anymore projects to the list. :rotfl:

go to the very first page there is a link to lots of easy patterns. also try ones that say sewing for dummies or easy 1 hour patterns. those are usually very user friendly!

The first thing I made was a pillowcase dress and they are super simple!!! I made two by hand before I even learned how to use my machine.

I have completed Tessa's shirt and decoupage jeans. I will post pictures of them momentarily!

We're waiting!

I saw those $500 $700 whatever childrens customs on voldemart yesterday too and I thought to myself, WHAT????? My word, they aren't all that wonderful...I am sure they took a lot of time to construct, but shees...I looked at the other items the seller sold in the past and they all brought in high prices too...I think LisaZoe's clothes are just as lovely with her fabric choices and her ability to applique....

I got my model to cooperate, somewhat. So, here's what I've been working on for the last week or 2 (I can't figure out how some of you whip them up so quickly)!

Holy Crap! Now, my husband has a name for that: Circus Wear.

And, my daughter would never wear it, so I don't have to worry about trying anything that intricate. Although, it is really cute. I love mixing fabrics.

You could always use fabric marker or stich by hand! I love the outfit! Hello Kitty is my favorite!

Tres Chic! And, I LOVE the shoes!! Great job HeatherSue!!!

Here is "Jord". Jord goes EVERYWHERE with us. :cloud9:

It was brought to my attention (by a very upset 6 year old) that Jord needed matching clothes. Guess what! They don't make CPK patterns small enough to fit Jord. :confused3 (So I have had to "wing it")

Cindee

Cindee, that is so cute!!!!

Ok I still haven't gotten around to learning how to sew, but now that DDs birthday party is behind me I am going to start soon. I cheated and ordered for DD and my DM added to pants and shirt. She also has ratatouille necklace, which she took off before I could take pictures.

Ordered chef hat and apron from a great seller!

I'm not going to shrink my neice, so there! :snooty:

Heather, Tessa looks so beautiful!!! You did a great job on this set!!! I love the heart applique on the jeans, and the poodle! Tessa looks gorgeous in this! And, it doesn't scare me at all!!! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Nice stitching on the patches too! That looks really good!

Here is what I accomplished due to the fact that it snowed most of the day Saturday (no yardwork, cancelled soccer games, too cold to go outside etc.) And I did it all without leaving the house. I bought some patterns on YCMT and had the fabric in my stash. I only had one pack of Mickey head scrapbook buttons though, so I thought I'd just stick a yellow one on there until I got back to the store for another set, but now the mismatched look is starting to grow on me. The mini buttons worked perfect for the matching doll outfit. Unfortunately that is her sister's doll. I'm thinking Santa may have to bring her her own Bitty Baby. I took her on errands today and she got a LOT of attention, so I'm wondering if it might be a bit too much. One lady in line at Walmart asked if I made it for her and I said "yes" and she said "I knew you were a good mother!" :confused3 :rotfl:

At least I got her to look at the camera! She never holds still. I took the first picture and she yelled "TA DAH!"

This is so cute! I definitely don't think it's too much! I'm not surprised she got a lot of attention, she's just so darn cute! As for the lady at Walmart...:confused3 I've had people make the same type of comment to me when Tessa tells them I made her outfit. I think I was a pretty good mom before I started sewing, too!

Thanks for all the compliments already! You know I sew for your praise! LOL! The shoes are from Libby Lu and were only $4.99!!

Did she just sayed it SNOWED most of the day!!!!! :scared1: NOOOOOOOO!!!! Not yet we haven't even been to the pumpkin patch yet!!!!! Where did it snow already- are you in the mountains???- Please tell me you live in a high elevation where it snows year round!!

On a lighter, more on topic note- You guys have inspired me!! I have finally broken down and dusted off my sewing machine :yay: I will now attempt to sew an article of clothing- a feat never done before- I've only made blankets and stuff. So here I go. I will definetly need some practicing!!! Wish me luck!!

Wow what a wonderful Birthday for DD. I love the outfit very cute.

What kind of icing did you use for the cake? It is adorable. You did a wonderful job!

Thank you very much!:) I actually just used buttercream icing and colored it orange. Then I used a very small cup to make circles that look like "holes".
