Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 4

I finally got finished with my purple princess toile dresses. I thought this project would never end (except for the times when I was ready to just chuck it). I ended up buying the white fabric 4 times because I kept running out (that'll teach me to modify patterns). Oh & one of those times 'white' did NOT mean white so some of the pieces don't really match. GRRR!!!!

Anyway here's dd4's dress:

And dd1's dress:

And their dolls' dresses:

Very pretty! I love this fabric! Lydia saw those doll dresses and now wants me to maker her doll a dress out of it to match her dress!

Hey everyone -- all the new creations are fantastic! (as always)

I'm mostly in lurking mode because my work/life has been crazy lately. I haven't used my sewing machine for about a month  I have 2 creations started waiting for me to finish and a pile of fabric waiting for me to do something with. Hopefully, after this weekend life will slow down a bit.

PS ... I don't like Cracker Barrell at all. (But I do like the Old Country Store -on which it is based).

I spent the morning at the Disney Store. They had there clearance and additional 40%. They had a BUNCH of the Disney Irons marked down to 2.99 then 40% off that! 2.99-1.20 equals 1.79!!!!!!! I bought Sleeping Beauty, Cars, Tinkerbell and Buzz.

Just an FYI....

I was at Hobby Lobby this morning looking for the peacock feathers and I went over to look at the tulle to make DD a tutu. In their clearance section, they had some 6 in. wide tulle for .17 cents a yard. They had some weird colors but I was able to get 75 yards of lavender for $11.25. I can't wait to make this for her. They also had gotten in new tulle. It is still the 6 inch wide tulle. The roll has 25 yards on it for $4.99 and they had lots of colors. I asked if they ever ran those on sale and she said usually for Buy 1 Get 1 Free. I am going to keep my eye on those!

A girl I know on another message board says she makes them for $30 and they are just like the ones on here!

Love the doll baby clothes.
My daughters just told me they want My twinn dolls for christmas. I know if you order before October 7th they are $129, but does anyone know of any more or better discounts out there for them, or American Girl. My girls are mixed and have curly (not kinky) hair, so the my twinn definatally has more options. Also I love how they sculpt to look just like the girls facial structure and put birthmarks on them. Does anyone have one of the my twinn dolls to tell me how they hold up. Are they taller and thinner than American girl dolls?

A little off topic, so lets just say, if they get one, I'll make a mickey shirt for the doll . :wizard:

Very cute outfits! I just bought a doll pattern to make some matching outfits for DD10's American Girl dolls. I bought her a My Twinn doll a few years ago. Here are a couple of photos of her with her "twin" whom she named Mary Kate.

She is a cute doll, she definitely larger than the AG dolls. One cool thing is that her body is bendable. You can pose her all sorts of ways. It was fun to see her with the same little freckle under her eye that DD has. On the other hand, my DD has curly hair. If you leave it alone it dries in ringlets. I thought I picked the best hairstyle, and they had a photo of DD, but the doll came with slightly wavy hair so I ended up sending her to their doll hospital and paying for new hair, which did turn out better, but still not as cute as DD's. However it did not take long for the hair to turn to frizz. My friend's DD has a My Twinn without curly hair and it also became a frizzy nightmare. DD does not play much with her at all but I do like her for the sentimental value. However, DD has 3 AG dolls with whom she plays every day. I took her to the AG store in Chicago last year for her b-day and she took her Kirsten doll to the hair salon there because her hair was getting frizzy and out of control. She also has Samantha and Kit and their hair is gorgeous and easy to style and never gets frizzy, anyhow, the stylist there said that Kirsten and Kaya have the most difficult hair, the rest of the dolls have a different texture. We love both the MT and the AG dolls, for playing with the AG have worked out better, to treasure as a lookalike of your daughter, nothing beats the detail of the MT.

In an effort to get Teresajoy to pg 1000 today;)

Here are a few pictures of my MY Twinn doll in her Disney customs!

Here she is in her Pooh in the 100 acre woods dress. I copied a dress my sister wore as a child.

This was before you could buy Disney fabric. The purple was a Disney dress (note the "hidden Mickeys" I bought and cut up)

I also wanted to add that I made one of the long tutu fairy costumes for Katie today. She loved it. She came home and saw it and said "tutu Mommy"? It was so cute. She put it on and looked at me and said "picture" then went to everyone in the house and prompted them to tell her she was pretty. She twirled in it and smiled the entire time. Then she refused to let me take it off, and had a tantrum when I did. Being a princess is so hard:) I will post the pictures tomorrow. It came out really cute.

Can't wait to see the costume!!! Hint, hint!!

First, you just taunt me with your username, THEN you post great deals at a store that is an hour away from me! Oh, how I miss The Disney Store that use to be in our mall! :sad2:

Could you post a picture of the iron ons you got? I might make a trip to the Disney Store soon, and I'm not sure what to look for. (plus, it will help push us over that 1,000 page mark!!)

Cute pictures! Are the MyTwinn dolls a lot larger that AG dolls? Your daughters looks pretty tall. It sure is pretty, just like your daughter! And, we are watching a Mary Kate and Ashley video right now! I think it's Mall Party. I know I'm going to be singing these songs for the rest of the day now!

Cindee

AWWWW Cindee! Thanks! I love the doll pictures! How sweet you made one to look like your sisters dress! I love dolls!

ETA: I just realized that you said this was YOUR my Twinn. Do you mean that it really is yours, modeled after you? Let's get a close up so I can see what you look like!

Can't wait to see the costume!!! Hint, hint!!

The other day, I was folding up a 101 Dalmation sheet, and "TADA!" popped into my head, and for a second I couldn't figure out why!

I'm not sure if this has been answered or not, but there is a baby care station in each park that we used to change our little ones outfits. The one in the MK is right beside Crystal Palace and the one in Epcot is on the left before the bridge you cross to go to WS. Both locations are very close to where you will be dining. Hope this helps.:)

Hmmm...I need help! First, I can't decide if I want to change DD out of her "park" clothes & into her princess dresses for her princess meals. I am wondering, where can I change her before the meals? We are having dinner at Akershus on Sunday & Lunch in the Castle on Wed. Are there restrooms nearby? I know it will be too hot to wear those dresses all day so iwas hoping to change her for the pics. Any advice?

Blessed Be,
Tina

(okay that is a quote from Teresajoy, don't know what I did to it)

In the interest of 1000 pages, here is a photo of My Twinn Mary Kate and American Girl Kirsten. Mary Kate is even larger than I thought! But check out her cool rotating ankles. This photo will illustrate my previous comments on My Twinns bad hair!

We leave tomorrow!!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
DH has 2 days of business meetings so our first Park day will be Sunday!:wizard:
Gorgeous, you know at first I didn't like this fabric, but I've seen some really cute outfits made w/ it- this is definitely one of them.

Well, you made me laugh, so that made my day better! He was hunting squirrel though, so maybe it was a gang of squirrels!

I will check with our insurance company tomorrow to see if it's covered. My husband is upset because his favorite fishing pole was stollen.
:
SQUIRRELS!?!?!? Who would want to shoot poor little squirrels?? No wonder someone broke the window!! Bet he was goin; fishin' for NEMO next!!!
Where is TNMOMS mathematic tute?
Nevermind looks like you got it, but it's in the bookmarks under skirts..

Yeah, I need to get about 1 or 2 more fabrics for my halloween skirt. I bought her a little black tee w/ a sparkly pumpkin on it at Target. I almost got one at old Navy but decided to wait to see what Target had and they were only 3.99 so Target won.

Gotta run, things to do, just wanted to get in on trying to make that 1000th page.

...t.

Wow, Such great outfits! I love the Doll photos. I love the American Girl Dolls, I am waiting until DD can read the books before we get one. Do your DD's read the stories that go with the dolls?

I haven't meant to but I have ended up in Lurker mode. I have been reading but usually I get interrupted before I can respond. Things have been hectic here since I took my DD out of Public School and into a Private school.

I love the photos of Mikayla in the parks wearing her adorable outfits! You did a great job on those outfits and great photos too!

The Cracker Barrel talk cracks me up :rotfl2: It's funny how some people love it and others hate it. We love it here! We love their Peach Pancakes for breakfast! On Friday they have a Fish Fry. The cod is very good. My kids like their vegetables. Since we are in Georgia we also love their Sweet Tea!

Hope we get to 1000 pages. Maybe some of you who are in the Parks will stop in and say hello! I can't wait to see more photos. MommaPooh your girls are adorable! That cake from the Grand Floridian is beautiful! How did it taste? I bet it was yummmmmmy~!

Can't wait to see the costume!!! Hint, hint!!

:lmao: I am working on it. I have been for a while actually. I had a virus on the laptop, so I pulled the desk top out of storage and hooked it up until I get it back. For some reason it will not let me get the pictures off of my camera and onto the computer. It is driving me nuts. I will keep trying. I have also had to stop 1000 times to help my kids:)

I will get it up. The pics are so cute I can't wait to share them.
