For those of you that are working on the tulle twirl skirt pattern from YCMT, does anyone understand the cutting instructions for the tulle? I hate to sound dense but I just don't understand where we are supposed to cut it and how I'm going to get 8 pieces from the cut. I'm sure it doesn't help that my fabric came off the bolt funny from Wally World but ?????????????????? Help please!:confused3 :confused3

{{{Long time lurker popping out with a quick question...}}}

I'd like to make some matching hair bows for my DDs but I have no idea where to get the actual clips/barrettes from. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

TIA!!!

I actually found some at my local craft store Roberts Crafts (like a Michaels)but it took a while to find them because they were in the bead/jewelery making section. I did find 2 styles though which was nice and they were not too expensive. Also there is a ribbon store in my town that carries them so you might find them anywhere that carries a lot of ribbon. Good luck!

I've been so crazed with school starting and all the activities that includes!!! I have managed to check in here a tiny bit and also make a couple of customs!! I'll have pictures soon! (Once my camera recharges!)

I made an outfit for CRT and also another Minnie dot ensemble with a new peasant pattern. It's the new portrait peasant on youcanmakethis.com It's so easy that it's great for a very beginner sewer or an avid sewer that wants a simple and sweet design. It's the second peasant pattern I've used and this one is by far the most versatile and the easiest! (The pattern maker is CarlaC.)

Did anyone still question how to use a ruffler?? On youcanmakethis.com there is a FREE download with a video on how to do it!! You can find it in the free section or by it's author, CarlaC.

I'll post pictures soon!! I can't believe I have 39 days until our trip! .... I still have to do three applique T's for my DS6!

I buy my french barrettes and alligator clips at a beauty supply store like Sally's. For the alligator clips I pay about $4.50 for around 75 of them.

Bye everyone, have a good weekend. I am off to see Jack Sparow, and the girls want to see the princesses :)

And just to get us closer to that 1000 page mark...

LOOPY BOWS, I have instructions ( several versions actually) BUT they all seem to call for like 4.5" bows, I am a first time bow maker- so bear w/ me. My DD is 2 and I usually do her hair in either 2 pony tails or just pull back the front, so I think these bows, definitely too big.
This seems self explanitory, like a "use smaller ribbon, make smaller bows" kinda thing. But I just wanted to check w/ any and all of you bow makers if there is something I need to particularly know about making them smaller...
Yaknow, JIC.;)
TIA,

Generally, smaller ribbon = smaller bows. I've never made loopy bows, but I would think it should still work like that. Well, I'd probably make the loops smaller too, but you could probably figure that out on your own. ;)

See, I knew it sounded like a dumb question.. But I tend to NOT ask questions, cause, well, I think I know everything ( you know us Leo's!!) then sometimes, not very often BUT sometimes, I get into a project and say, Gee, t., couldn't have asked someone could ya???
Thanks!

Those are adorable!! I have that fabric, and it's like hoarding gold or something!!! I don't want to use it! It's worse than my Minnie dot!

I can't dress her up in customs anymore but this is my oldest daughter who just turned 21 at Disney and we celebrated by taking her to V&A and this was her birthday cake made by the GF bakery. I think they did a beautiful job.

Blessed Be,
Tina

Tina, your daughters are gorgeous!!!!! I can tell that the two little ones simply adore each other (I'm sure your oldest daughter feels the same, but I didn't see her with the other two!) I love the Lilo outfit, you got that on Ebay, didn't you? I liked it before, but I like it even better on your daughter! What kind of shoes was she wearing with that, they looked really cute!!! I also love the matching Tink outfits!

Cute pictures! Are the MyTwinn dolls a lot larger that AG dolls? Your daughters looks pretty tall. It sure is pretty, just like your daughter! And, we are watching a Mary Kate and Ashley video right now! I think it's Mall Party. I know I'm going to be singing these songs for the rest of the day now!

(okay that is a quote from Teresajoy, don't know what I did to it)

In the interest of 1000 pages, here is a photo of My Twinn Mary Kate and American Girl Kirsten. Mary Kate is even larger than I thought! But check out her cool rotating ankles. This photo will illustrate my previous comments on My Twinns bad hair!

DSCN2492_edited-1.jpg

They are a LOT bigger! I see what you mean about the hair! We have a Just Pretend doll, Cassie, that had curly hair, and now hers looks a lot like that. The ones with the straight hair still look really good. Poor Cassie though, looks like someone stuck her hand in a light socket!

Gorgeous, you know at first I didn't like this fabric, but I've seen some really cute outfits made w/ it- this is definitely one of them.

SQUIRRELS!?!?!? Who would want to shoot poor little squirrels?? No wonder someone broke the window!! Bet he was goin; fishin' for NEMO next!!!

Gotta run, things to do, just wanted to get in on trying to make that 1000th page.

...t.

I didn't really like the face fabric at first either, but now I'm thinking I should have bought some! My husband would have a different idea about that though. Would you believe he thinks I have TOO MUCH FABRIC????:confused3 Crazy man. Of course I think he has too many guns and fishing poles, which is my segway into..

Yep, squirrel. He eats them, and feeds them to the kids. I can't quite get past the "It's a squirrel!!!!" factor though! It really helps with the food budget though, which in turns helps with the Disney budget! He loves fishing more than hunting, haven't caught Nemo yet! He did catch a a Pike this past year, and it really really really FREAKED ME OUT!!! I could post a picture, but it might just scare you too! He had me take the picture, and I swear that as I was doing that ,it turned it's head (which has TEETH) at me and hisssssed!!! OOOOHHH I get chills just thinking about it. I coldn't eat that thing either!

Oh, PLEASE do NOT tell her that it's perfect white chocolate pixie confection, because I really like Tiffani! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:
Bye everyone, have a good weekend. I am off to see Jack Sparow, and the girls want to see the princesses :)

You are just going to leave us when we are THIS close to 1000?????? :snooty: Ok, fine, go have fun!!! See if we care. :snooty:

You must have some "meaty" squirrels up there!!! The ones around here are skinny, scrawny, little things. But I'm with you, I would not be able to eat that either!! Which brings up the question...How exactly do you cook a squirrel?

Are we getting closer to 1000? :)

It's a yellow cake with white chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries and a white and dark chocolate ganache toppping with a solid white chocolate Tinkerbell topper. Sorry T-beri lol

The big difference between the two dolls is size.

MT is 23 inches
AG is 18 inches

MT is much more poseable that AG
AG is more popular and has LOTS of stuff you can buy.

Both dolls offer matching child outfits.
Both doll companies offer sales.

There are VERY few patterns available to sew for the MT.
There are TONS of patterns available to sew for the AG.

Teresajoy, yep the MT in my picture looks like me. I will hunt around for a better pic.

The squirrels in our backyard are pretty big. Of course they have a couple of oak trees & a pecan to feed them. :rotfl:

Teresajoy, if you want to send your dh down to kill a few that's fine with me. I have plenty to share...I won't eat them either.

Teresa she was wearing Lelli Kelly's with the Lilo outfit. Kiley has a pair too. I love them because they go with almost anything.
