Hello all!

I will try to break this down to a couple of posts:

I just finished Leighanna's Animal Kingdom outfit!
Thank goodness for the ruffler and the serger! I would not want to try to get this done without one! With these two machines, I was able to complete this in about 6 hours! Not bad for someone that used to take 3 days to complete the most simple thing!

Leighanna was actually wanting to "model" her new outfits, so I got a few pictures to share.

I also used this pink and black Mickey outfit to try something a little different.

I just didn't like how this fabric wrinkled so bad. Did anyone else have any trouble with this fabric?
Here is what I came up with:

oh that is too cute. you are so talented! and your lil girl is too cute..:cutie:

Here are the two outfits that I shared earlier, but I now have a model that wanted to participate. Could it be that she is either ready to leave soon, or that I threatened her with her life if she didn't cooperate! J/K!;)

I just wanted to thank everyone on this board for being so wonderful! I am having a seriously BAD day. DD4 is really sick. She's throwing up, has a headache and is needing a lot of snuggling. Meanwhile, DS1 is sticking his hands in her "puke bucket", pulling her hair, taking her water, climbing on the table, getting into the kitchen cabinets, sitting on the dog, etc....

So, during the few seconds I have free, I am checking the boards. To my delight, there are wonderful 80's-90's prom photos for my viewing pleasure!

I just love you guys! :grouphug:

Aww I hope she feels better. he goes to bed early and you get a break. Best wishes for all of you good luck.

Wowza! Tom you have been busy!!! If only I could sew as well as you!!!:goodvibes You've inspired me to try something harder. I guess I'll have to the patchwork skirt now...

I know it might not matter but . . . my daughter really really wants the Little Einsteins beads. I am actually making her an outfit to go with this necklace. I just wanted everyone to know in the spirit of making little girls happy I am bidding on these beads.

Also, she is my favorite seller of anyone. Her stuff is fantastic. I did get the Pooh Bear Halloween and my set also had Tigger. They are better in person than pictured.

I hope you get them! :cheer2: Good Luck! I'm after a Rudolf misfits set right now by another seller. If I lose, I'm going to ask her if she would make some.

Wow! These are great! By the time I'm brave enough to try anything that fancy my girls will be all grown up! I especially love the sailor Minnie!

Well, I have not even entered Satin H*ll because I lost my engagement ring. I think it is gone gone gone.

Oh my gosh I hope you find it. Keep looking :cheer2:

I found another cool site! http://laquiltworks.bizland.com/my_tips.htm
They use coffee filters as a stabilizer, brilliant!
Wish I had seen this this morning before I did my pumpkin. Oh well it turned out ok.
I am having problems with my bobbin showing too and I turned the tension all the way down. I am having to change out the bobbins which is a pain since I only have 3! I really need to order some.
I also have a little problems with corners. Anyone have a good tutorial they can point me to?

Tom, your outfits are beyond amazing !!!:goodvibes

does anyone else feel like me...just when you finally get your photos in the computer and ready to share you feel a bit of hesitation when you see that Tom has posted just before you :scared: and you don't want your work on the same page????

Maybe I should stop posting.:goodvibes

Please don't feel that way!;)

Everyone's work has been amazing! And yours in no exception!:thumbsup2
If not for everyone's outfits being posted, along with all the great tips, I would have just stopped at outfit number one!

I really am hoping to make this trip extra special for our family. I really don't know when and if we will be able to go back again.:sad1:

Maybe I should stop posting.

Oh.Lordy don't do that  we need your inspirations !!!!! Please know that it was a backward compliment to you.....I meant more like ya know the really pretty girl in your class that was sweet and wonderful and nice, but you really hoped that you didn't have to sit next to her for the class picture cuz her beauty would make yours look , well, not so beautious !!! :dance3:

Please keep the posts coming Tom so I have something to aspire to...I would be one of the firsts to bid on your items by the way...;)

Tom, the outfits are absolutely AMAZING!!! Great job! Leighanna is beautiful!

And, I totally think you could sell your stuff on Voldemort and make more than enough money to fund another trip!!! Just think if you can whip up one of those outfits in one day, you could more than make some vacation money!

I say GO FOR IT!!!!

First pic- Oh, my poor, poor sister. All she needs is a frankel.

Ok, I missed that the first time around but :snooty: to you!

What a cute outfit!! I just love that Megan, she's my kind of kid. I also love the color of green in your dining room. DH just painted his grandma's dining room and kitchen that color.

I haven't yet tried to work with tulle and I don't know if I want to, judging from other's experiences!

The tulle wasn't that bad I just couldn't keep all the layers straight. I would be halfway through pinning and realize that one piece was an inch long and then other was hanging off of the dress!

My husband hates the color of the kitchen! I wanted it olive, but not too dark so it's kind of the color of strained peas. I told him any time he wanted to repaint it, knock yourself out. So pea-colored it stays!

I think she was jipped in the eyelashes department!

And her brother has eyelashes to spare. I had little old ladies come up to me when he was a baby and tell me he was really too pretty to be a boy.

She looks adorable! I love her crinkly hair: did she have it braided yesterday? She is going to have so much fun at DW!

Well, I lost your other outfits when quoting but they all look great! So adventurous to try shirring! Your daughters look so pleased with all the outfits!

Ohhhh, before I go to bed...I went to Wal-mart (waldemort?) and looked for the princess pillow panels and couldn't find them. They are with the fabrics? I looked up and down and couldn't find anything with panels. If anyone has more info about them I would appreciated it. Incidentally, they still had the tiger print if you want me to pick some up Dawn. Let me know. Yawn, have a great night everyone!

My Walmart still has them. PM if you want me to pick them up. I would be happy too.

Sorry if I missed your question before. I made that little dress. I basically followed pillowcase dress instructions. The main fabric was a pillowcase which I just shortened and added the border at the bottom. I traced and cut the MICKEY out of the red fabirc and used iron on adhesive to secure the letters and then stitched around them with a zig zag stitch. Then I attached the whole yellow band to the main part of the dress and added the ric rac across the seam.
At the top, I made a narrow casing on the front and the back and put elastic in it to gather it up. Then I cut J shaped holes for the armholes and finished them with bias tape.

I hope that makes a little sense. I sort of winged it on that one! Let me know if I can explain it any better.

THAT'S what I needed. I have never really liked the pillow case dresses b/c of the way they gather around the neckline- This dress is WAYYYY better (IMO) Now, I just need to figure out how to do it!!:rotfl: I may be enlisting my moms help on this one- and PC dresses are supposed to be the easiest!!! But I am not making it out of a pillow case AND theres the elastic top thingy. Thanks for your help and the idea!!! I'm using it for my princess toile....
...t.

I use to have a horse that looked like that. His name was Rasberry. He was a BAD horse! If you were walking him, he would stick his foot out to the side, and PURPOSELY step on your foot! He once ran me into this big bush that we had next to our house, and just stopped there, so I would get off! I really didn't like that horse!

But, I did have a very nice little pony named Dandy. He was WILD when we got him. So, my Dad read some books, and decided that we could train him. I can't count the number of times I got bucked off, or got scared and just jumped. I had NEVER really ridden a horse before!!! What the heck was my Mom thinking letting me do that?????:confused I was 12 at the time. But, he did turn out to be a decent little pony. He was part Arabian and part Chincoteque. That spelling is way wrong, but it's the same kind of horse as Misty and Stormy, from the books. You know, the ones that come from the island?? He was just beautiful.

That is ASSATEAGUE Island. It's the barrier Island and goes from MD to VA. Guess what, if you remember the story MISTY, they talk about Ocean City (basically where I live and grew up) and how the "great Storm" cut an inlet seperating Assateague and Ocean City. Do you remember the girls name in the book???? It was Maureen. A very cool Irish name if I do say so myself:goodvibes

I know I've asked this before and I know it's been answered a bunch of times, but can someone pllleeease give me the YCMT.com code again!? :headache:

And speaking of YCMT.com, has anyone made the DOUBLE LAYER STRIPWORK TWIRL SKIRT by Pouty Princess? I'm wondering how hard it is to make.

Thanks!!

ok experts...

what do you think is a reasonable charge for pillowcase dresses using disney fabric? I have someone wanting to charge me $35, is that reasonable?

You can find them for much cheaper than that. I think the ones I was looking at were $15. Maybe $20.
