Jams! Wow, I haven't thought about those in a long time!

Here is the latest. I learned a lot from this outfit. I learned I hate tulle. I learned that if you do your basting stitches with a different color thread, don't put the ruffle on backwards. My poor finger is sore from pulling out the thread. I couldn't pull it out from the inside because the bobbin thread was black like the material so I couldn't see them! So I had orange thread on one ruffle.

I know you eagle-eyes will spot it so I will admit that is a diet vanilla coke zero in a budweiser cooler on the counter.

Her face is red because I interrupted her daily after school ritual of Charlie and Lola and pink milk to take these pictures. She was not pleased!

100_1805.jpg

So finally, exasperated, I said, will you please just smile?

100_1808.jpg

This child! :lmao:

Cute outfit! I hate hearing that about the tulle...my next outfits for DD's is a tulle twirl skirt! Here's to hoping it goes well!

Well, I have not even entered Satin H*ll because I lost my engagement ring. I think it is gone gone gone. I went to my Dad's today to cut out Cinderella but one thing lead to another and I did not get to do it. I did however make DD to black and hot pink bows for the NBC outfit. We left to go do her pics at a historic house and the little "angel" fell asleep. This would be her third nap in four months. She is hysterical when she wakes up so the photo shoot was out.

Just to let you all losers know. . . I was way to cool for the prom. So DH and I did not go. Don't you worry he still enjoyed the after prom activities.

Did you find your ring?:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: Or are you happy b/c you get a new one? I have mixed feelings on mine! I really want an upgrade but I don't want to get rid of the one I have either. Good thing it's not in the budget in the near future so I don't have to decide!

Here are the two outfits that I shared earlier, but I now have a model that wanted to participate. Could it be that she is either ready to leave soon, or that I threatened her with her life if she didn't cooperate! J/K!;)

What did you say?
Disneyoutfits072.jpg

Only 5 more days to go?
Disneyoutfits078.jpg

Yippee!(this is my excited to go but scared to try TOT for the first time face!)
Disneyoutfits054.jpg

Oh my gosh these are unbelievable. I sure do wish my DH would learn to sew like that! Fantastic! She's going to be stopped every step through the park w/ these outfits!

Tell her to be brave, my DD3 (at the time, now DD4) loved TOT! She laughed through the whole ride!

Last post for the evening everyone, I love all of the 80's pictures! I am a class of '92 graduate and loved the 80's! I wish my hair had cooperated and been big but it always was straight as could be! My parents have all of our pictures from prom so I can't share any but suffice it to say, mine had a bubble skirt! I can't believe that they are back in style again (kind of anyway)! So unattractive and definitely not flattering!

By the way, Molly Ringwald, did you get to kiss Jake Ryan? Sixteen candles is my favorite movie of all time! I even watched it on tv in the delivery room for DD4!

Keep the pictures coming! It's like walking down memory lane!

Jams! Wow, I haven't thought about those in a long time!
That's becasue you don't have a brother that still wears the same pair he had in the 80's!!!

Paaaahhhh-lease!!!! You STILL wear that green eyeshadow and you know it!! :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Just want to say bye for now!!!

I'm off to WDW in the morning and I have a million things to do.. Any requests from anyone here? Do you need anything? I'll help out if I can! Just make sure you post before midnight tonight so I can pick it up before I go!
Have fun!!! Shoot, it's after midnight, I was going to ask you to pick me up some more green eyeshadow!!!
:rotfl:

By Karebear!!! Have a safe trip!
We're fly out in the morning! WoooHooo!

Have fun!!! We are going to miss you!!!

Just to let you all losers know. . . I was way to cool for the prom. So DH and I did not go. Don't you worry he still enjoyed the after prom activities.
:scared1: :rotfl:

I knew a girl in middle shcool who had hair that stuck out horizonatlly on both sides & she had bangs that were higher than anyone's I've ever seen. i was always amazed at how well they stood up to PE & rainstorms. :lmao: :rotfl2:

I am laughing so hard it hurts!!!!

I know it might not matter but . . . my daughter really really wants the Little Einstiens beads. I am actually making her an outfit to go with this necklace. I just wanted everyone to know in the spirit of making little girls happy I am bidding on these beads.

Also, she is my favorite seller of anyone. Her stuff is fantastic. I did get the Pooh Bear Halloween and my set also had Tigger. They are better in person than pictured.
Aimee, you need to do better than that!

DO NOT BID AGAINST AIMEE ON THOSE BEADS!!!!!! HANNAH WANTS THEM!!!

What is the seller's name?
Some great outfits Tom!!! I love the safari Minnie one!!! And, do I spot a pettiskirt under that Mickey dress???

here is my first attempt at a shirred top ( I would do another now that I have it figured out)...needed to wind the elastic thread tightly onto the bobbin and it works like a charm..I did it in one peice around...by the 3rd or 4th row it starts to look right...

...still have 2 tanks to do something with if I have time...love the last minute creative pressure :cool2:

Great outfits!!!! Nice job!!! They turned out wonderfully!

I meant more like ya know the really pretty girl in your class that was sweet and wonderful and nice, but you really hoped that you didn't have to sit next to her for the class picture cuz her beauty would make yours look , well, not so beautious !!! :dance3:
So THAT'S why no one ever wanted to sit by me!!!! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

That is ASSATEAGUE Island. It's the barrier Island and goes from MD to VA. Guess what, if you remember the story MISTY, they talk about Ocean City (basically where I live and grew up) and how the "great Storm" cut an inlet seperating Assateague and Ocean City. Do you remember the girls name in the book???? It was Maureen. A very cool Irish name if I do say so myself:goodvibes

WOW!!! That is really cool!!! I didn't realize that is where you are from!! And, yes, what a wonderful Irish name!!! I use to read those books over and over and over again when I was little!

Heather graduated in 1992 too! Days before she became an aunt! She had a bubble skirt too. I do belive it was orange.

With everyone leaving for Disney, is there going to be anyone left here next week??? I hope everyone keeps posting even after their trips!

Did you find your ring?:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: Or are you happy b/c you get a new one? I have mixed feelings on mine! I really want an upgrade but I don't want to get rid of the one I have either. Good thing it's not in the budget in the near future so I don't have to decide!

I was the same way. So my AWSOME hubby, not even dear, upgraded and then we put my engagement stone into a pendant that I can wear :)

I know I've asked this before and I know it's been answered a bunch of times, but can someone pllleeease give me the YCMT.com code again!? :headache:

And speaking of YCMT.com, has anyone made the DOUBLE LAYER STRIPWORK TWIRL SKIRT by Pouty Princess? I'm wondering how hard it is to make.

Thanks!!

I made this pattern for my dd's back to school outfit (the one a few pages back with the apple and the worm applique on the shirt.
I did not do the under skirt, I simply added a ruffle to the strip work layer. I found the directions to be simple and easy to follow, I thought it was a very simple pattern. MUCH easier than I thought. I will probably do the double layer next time I make one. Hope that helps!

I loved those books too! I think I saved them hoping that one day I would have a daughter. I'll have to look.

I had a pony growing up too. He was a little gray welsh guy named Shamrock. He was as sweet as a puppy. Once we crashed going over a jump and I got a concussion. He didn't leave my side until someone pulled him away sot he ambulance could get through.

With everyone leaving for Disney, is there going to be anyone left here next week??? I hope everyone keeps posting even after their trips!

I'll be here! :wave2: If anyone wants to take a side trip to Tampa, I would be happy to visit!

Aimee, did you find your ring?

This is so cute. I love the fabrics they go together very well. I love the sparkly tulle stuff too.
Your back to school outfit is really cute too! I love the back to school fabric. I made one for DD but she said I like it but I won't wear it. When I asked her why she said no one else wears anything like it.

I sold it on that site. MMMm Voldemort? Oh well. I think the buyer's daughter liked it.

Did you use a pattern to make the cinderella crystal shirt? I just got a hot fix tool that I am itchin to use

IMG_0495.jpg

no pattern...looked in some of my DD coloring books for an idea...layed out a paper pattern of one big circle to start and put the crystals around that to get a start, same with the wheels and then added in the others for detail...I often found it easier to lay the crystals down where I wanted and then use the tool to hot fix rather thatn try to hold the crystal with the tool and place them...know what I mean...they often fell out of the tool before I got them down...

also made myself a bling bling Mickey head shirt...once you get going you will want to hot fix everything !!

Thanks! Wow, I can't believe your daughter wouldn't wear it! Megan had to wear her new Halloween outfit out to dinner last night (yes, with the blue socks) and she got a few comments. She was so proud to say that her mommy made it. Maybe your daughter isn't the attention hog mine is and she's afraid she would be uncomfortable. I'm sure the buyer's daughter loved it anyway!

OMGoarshhh Aimee....sorry about your ring! Did it fall off your hand? Or did you stash it somewhere? My dad was famous for hiding stuff and forgeting where he put it

So....about the cute pony pics and stories. I have a pic of me riding a Welsh/Quarter Horse cross pony this summer. I love the pic with his eye shut...he looks soooo sleepy :rotfl2:

This is way OT. I can't even think of a way to segway back to sewing other than to say that people sew and sell those large saddle pad for $40-$60 each! Everything with horses is expensive! :sad2:

I'll be here! :wave2: If anyone wants to take a side trip to Tampa, I would be happy to visit!
I'll be here too! I'll come over from St. Pete to visit!! :rotfl: Besides, we're not heading to WDW until 10/6 & 10/7!!!

I haven't made one yet but I am thinking of doing their fall halloween skirt in this pattern. Maybe we should do it together?? :confused3
Hello all!

I will try to break this down to a couple of posts:

I just finished Leighanna's Animal Kingdom outfit!
[/IMG]
Tom...just love all these outfits!!! Your DD looks just beautiful! :thumbsup2 Have a wonderful trip!!! :goodvibes

here is my first attempt at a shirred top

I love the outfits! Great idea with the crystals in the shape of the pumpkin....so creative and perfect for her age!!!!
Jams! Wow, I haven't thought about those in a long time!
Beautiful!!! Your DD cracks me up. I love the tulle even though its a pain to work with.....:thumbsup2

THAT is gorgeous!!!! Did you do her face by machine or by hand? I really, really, love it!! I always have to use coordinating bobbin thread. My machine tends to pull the bobbin thread up to the top. I don't know if I have it on the wrong settings, or what.

It's all done with the machine. Her features were big enough that I could piece them and applique without any hand embroidery! It was ok, but the eyelids gave me a fit!

I love the outfit! But, I love this face even more!

Where did you get the Mickey heads? I'd really like to have some liek that.

The Mickey head flags were pieced together and appliqued. Not too bad until I got to UK :headache:

Have I told you lately how talented you are!? Your dd & dw are so lucky!! You know, we're still waiting on those Tweedle Dee & Dum pics and that's the first thing we expect when you get back!

You've given me inspiration to try shirring today. I was thinking about it, and when I read your post I decided I will do it!! Wish me luck!

I think your dd is beautiful! I can't believe she is only 11, she looks about 15! I love your Blingy Carriage outfit!!!!

I have not found it yet. I do not really want a new one. My MIL loves re-seting her jewelry. It is not my thing. I just feel like that was the ring that DH put on my finger when he promised to love me forever. It is way to sentimental.

If I can't find he said he will by me a new one and do it all again which is nice of him. Too bad an enagement ring is not in the budget right now!

Thanks for asking.:cutie:

Thank goodness for the ruffler and the serger! I would not want to try to get this done without one! With these two machines, I was able to complete this in about 6 hours! Not bad for someone that used to take 3 days to complete the most simple thing!

Leighanna was actually wanting to "model" her new outfits, so I got a few pictures to share.

I also used this pink and black Mickey outfit to try something a little different.

I just didn't like how this fabric wrinkled so bad. Did anyone else have any trouble with this fabric?
Here is what I came up with:

Tom, I love them both. I esp love the AK outfit! I really love how you put the bows on in a diagonal fashion. SO cute! It is a nice little detail.
