Great job!! Did you make the tink one too?

Nope! My mom bought hers ... though I thought that we should have made it. When I was looking for patterns to obliterate in order to make Belle, I found a lot of patterns that would have made a great Tink ... granted I would have had to of dealt with putting in boning and one adventure with that was enough! (we attempted it for a formal dress once. needless to say I did not end up wearing that particular item!)

Hi Everyone,

Directions for the simplest poodle skirt ever? i saw a poodle patch at the store, but would love to make the skirt - would you put something ruffly underneath?

thanks, wendy

I don't know a pattern but, I would maybe recommend sewing some tulle onto the bottom of a slip or something. When I tried to make mine like the little girls wear (all full) I looked HUGE.

Karrie, cute! I love it on courduroy, it gives me lots of good ideas too. I was having visions of poor Ds wearing overall and fleece every day all winter. ;) I did see that circle embroidery and am in deep fear for my wallet now! That rocked!!!! Think of all the cute mickey heads you could make!

Look at those bangs!!! WOW!!! This is so much fun seeing everyone's pictures!

Compared to most of my friends - I did not have big hair. I guess the bangs got higher for special occasions!

IMG_1952.jpg

This was for a yearbook picture. That's me front "row" on the right. Not sure why we had it taken with all the stuffed animals?!? Notice all the cool pegged pant legs!!

And here is three of us at my high school boyfriend's wedding 4 years ago. Two of the other girls were there too...just not close with them anymore. (Sorry about the picture quality - it's a picture magnet on my fridge!)

You are right, your bangs weren't too big! It was just your fancy doo!

You guys look great at that wedding! Your high school boyfriend's wedding???:scared1: Wow! But, then again, I was IN my high school boyfriend's wedding. :lmao:

I'm uploading some pictures right now, so I will go embarass myself in just a minute by posting them!

Love the Prom pictures! Here is me and DH at our Sr. Prom in November 1986. For your viewing pleasure, we have the puffy sleeves, (my mom made the dress--it was my bridesmaid dress from my sisters wedding)the mullet, and the puffy bangs, however I must've been having a bad hair day because usually the bangs were much higher (my Dsis called them "bangs to heaven"). You may also notice that I wore my bangs swept to one side a bit and on the opposite side I sort of slicked back and sprayed the hair. I'm sure I can find a better photo of this unnatural phenomenon. My favorite thing about this photo is the extremely tacky background! Oh, and this was all many many pounds ago! :guilty: and I'm thinking I need to clean the glass on my scanner.

Ok, here we go!

First, up is a picture of me in 8th grade, 1982. My Mom talked me into getting this perm. I really didn't want it! She felt REALLY REALLY bad afterwards! Check out those glasses!
unfortunatepermof82.jpg

This is my Senior Picture, I graduated in 1987. Notice how UNbig my hair is! I was never crazy about this picture, I thought my face looked really crooked.
TeresaSeniorPicture87.jpg

Here is me inside looking at Brian before the prom. (Brian is not in the picture)
TeresaPom.jpg

Here we are outside, in front of the car that we took to the prom, and also drove on our honeymoon. Heather's leg can be seen to the far right of the picture.

PromwithHeathersfootinit.jpg

And, here is the professional picture we had done at the prom. I hated this picture. I'm not sure what my bangs are doing! It seems like they didn't take pictures right away, it was later in the evening. Anyway, I don't like it.

ProfessionalPrompic.jpg

Oh, I almost forgot one!

This was taken at my graduation party. It started to rain, so Heather and my sister-in-laws-to-be started dancing! Heather is the one in front. (of course!)
Love those Jams!

I was a HUGE Princess Diana fan, so I always wanted my hair to resemble hers. But it's never a good idea to get a haircut AND a perm on prom day! :rotfl2:
This was my Jr. Prom May 1986.
JrProm.jpg

And Sr Prom with ex-dh's face blacked out! May 1987 You can't see my gown in this one, I can try it on later and take pics, though. I still have it! It was a mermaid style, fitting with a big flare on the bottom :rotfl: It was light pink and silver.

I didn't get a perm on prom day, but I dyed my hair ASH blonde and was GREEN and had to be color corrected at a salon. I had a mermaid dress a la Madonna 1985. My date had a lifted Toyota truck and my dress was sooo tight he had to HOIST me up into it  (I'm sure he didn't mind)

You do look so sweet!

TJ- Bless your heart in the first picture :flower3: ! Is that a guinea sack brand dress? Laura Ashley? I thought the straight hair pic was pretty. You look the same(ish).

Aimee- How's the Cinderella dress coming along, sweetie? I ask because I have literally been hemming for the past hour. You look like you need another can of "the Zero", I'm guessing. Just remember how precious your dd's going to look. And the admiration and praise of your peers  Just have it done by morning so I can see it... :sad2:

Yah think you're funny, don't you! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: I always wanted to be Laura Ingalls!! I remember the first time I watched that show! Actually, I remember my Mom reading me the paper telling me that a new show was coming on TV called, "Little House on the Prairie" I don't know why, but I was just so excited to see it!

This was a trial run for something I'm making for dd8 to wear to CRT. This is where I learned that you should use black bobbin thread if you are using black topthread!!!!

WOW Wendy, I'm impressed!! Why yes, that is a Gunne Sax dress by Jessica McClintock! You are good!

I do pretty much look the same! Except for the extra 30 pounds, wrinkles and grey hair! And that green eye shadow!

2nd pic- Just check out my cool white flats with white socks and stonewashed jeans!!! I thought Teresa looked like a princess!
3rd pic- *sigh* If only I still had those Jams....Oh wait, I can just borrow our brother's!

You DO look like Molly Ringwald!

Great job on the Belle costume!

I was looking for myself in this picture-seriously! You guys look just we did! I swear that is my best school friend Stephanie in the back row, 2nd from the left!

You may also notice that I wore my bangs swept to one side a bit and on the opposite side I sort of slicked back and sprayed the hair.
th_prom.jpg

Once again, another cutie! I always envied the girls that could get the "opposite side" of their hair to stick out in a perfect horizontal for several inches.

Teresajoy, my dear sister. Thank you for the sweet compliments on our house!

My HUSBAND was in my High School boyfriend's (DHSB?) wedding. My husband didn't go to school with us - I met him years later, and DHSB didn't meet him for a while after that!!
