First pic- Oh, my poor, poor sister. All she needs is a frankel.

Well, I DID need braces but Dad was too cheap to get them for ME! (unlike my brother, who got braces or my sister, who they thought was going to need them and were prepared to pay for them for) But, I'm not bitter, no, not me! :lmao: [/quote]
2nd pic- Just check out my cool white flats with white socks and stonewashed jeans!!! I thought Teresa looked like a princess!
3rd pic- *sigh* If only I still had those Jams....Oh wait, I can just borrow our brother's!

OHH!!! How I wish that line about David were NOT true!!! While you are at it, borrow his moon boots too!!!

I wish I could find Brian's prom picture! He is wearing a green leasure suit!!! He hated the suit at the time, but his Mom talked him into it. However, he STILL had it when we got married!!!! I threw it out, but I wish I would have kept it!

THAT is gorgeous!!!! Did you do her face by machine or by hand? I really, really, love it!! I always have to use coordinating bobbin thread. My machine tends to pull the bobbin thread up to the top. I don't know if I have it on the wrong settings, or what.

This was a trial run for something I'm making for dd8 to wear to CRT. This is where I learned that you should use black bobbin thread if you are using black topthread!!!!

I love this Jasmine blouse. It is so pretty! Great job on all the outfits!

My HUSBAND was in my High School boyfriend's (DHSB?) wedding. My husband didn't go to school with us - I met him years later, and DHSB didn't meet him for a while after that!!
WOW!!! That is something! And, I don't think I've ever seen that abbreviation before! :lmao:
To be honest though, my high school boyfriend is my husband (but, I bet you figured that anyway, didn't you!)

We're still friends, but the "D" in this case wouldn't stand for darling, but dumped! LOL

Jams! Wow, I haven't thought about those in a long time!

Here is the latest. I learned a lot from this outfit. I learned I hate tulle. I learned that if you do your basting stitches with a different color thread, don't put the ruffle on backwards. My poor finger is sore from pulling out the thread. I couldn't pull it out from the inside because the bobbin thread was black like the material so I couldn't see them! So I had orange thread on one ruffle.

I know you eagle-eyes will spot it so I will admit that is a diet vanilla coke zero in a budweiser cooler on the counter.

Her face is red because I interrupted her daily after school ritual of Charlie and Lola and pink milk to take these pictures. She was not pleased!

So finally, exasperated, I said, will you please just smile?

This child! :lmao:

What a cute outfit!! I just love that Megan, she's my kind of kid. I also love the color of green in your dining room. DH just painted his grandma's dining room and kitchen that color.

I haven't yet tried to work with tulle and I don't know if I want to, judging from other's experiences!

Anyone know of a good McCalls peasant top pattern? I really need one tonight!

WOW Wendy, I'm impressed!! Why yes, that is a Gunne Sax dress by Jessica McClintock! You are good!

I do pretty much look the same! Except for the extra 30 pounds, wrinkles and grey hair! And that green eye shadow!

Paaaahhhh-lease!!!! You STILL wear that green eyeshadow and you know it!! :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Just want to say bye for now!!! I'm off to WDW in the morning and I have a million things to do.. Any requests from anyone here? Do you need anything? I'll help out if I can! Just make sure you post before midnight tonight so I can pick it up before I go!

By Karebear!!! Have a safe trip!
We're fly out in the morning! WoooHooo!

Hee Hee you knew I'd spy that!

CHEEESE!
This child! :lmao:
I think she was jipped in the eyelashes department!

Oh, and I just love the outfit! You rock!

Well, I have not even entered Satin H*ll because I lost my engagement ring. I think it is gone gone gone. I went to my Dad's today to cut out Cinderella but one thing lead to another and I did not get to do it. I did however make DD to black and hot pink bows for the NBC outfit. We left to go do her pics at a historic house and the little "angel" fell asleep. This would be her third nap in four months. She is hysterical when she wakes up so the photo shoot was out.

Just to let you all losers know. . . I was way to cool for the prom. So DH and I did not go. Don't you worry he still enjoyed the after prom activities.

ok experts...

what do you think is a reasonable charge for pillowcase dresses using disney fabric? I have someone wanting to charge me $35, is that reasonable?

The only way I'd say 35 is appropriate is if it is a very rare fabric or has lots of extras to it (ie applique or something). Especially if it is for a small child that only takes a yard or so. The typical pillowcase dress should cost less than $6 for supplies. I wouldn't see the typical pillowcase dress as being worth $35 but then I'm a cheapskate! I learned to sew because I refused to pay so much for things I don't didn't that that much effort or cost that much in materials.

Voldemort has new clay beads from our favorite person. There are some Little Einsteins, and Pooh halloween and Minnie too...

I didn't go to my prom, but I'll see what I can dig up for you.

I just wanted to thank everyone on this board for being so wonderful! I am having a seriously BAD day. DD4 is really sick. She's throwing up, has a headache and is needing a lot of snuggling. Meanwhile, DS1 is sticking his hands in her "puke bucket", pulling her hair, taking her water, climbing on the table, getting into the kitchen cabinets, sitting on the dog, etc....

So, during the few seconds I have free, I am checking the boards. To my delight, there are wonderful 80's-90's prom photos for my viewing pleasure!

I just love you guys! :grouphug:

Poor Baby! I hope she feels better soon.

Oh my gosh, you poor, poor, thing!!! That girl on Sixteen Candles also had a neck brace, I believe.
Here's Tessa's room. Since she's sick, Sawyer had to help me "model" it. DH built our house and we've lived here a little over a year. So, I got to pick out all the stuff for it.
Here's her light fixture!
Tessaslight.jpg

Here's her bed (with an awful lot of stuff on top of the turrets). Tessa loves cats, so there is a non-Disney cat quilt my grandma made me when I was a kid:
Tessasbed.jpg

I tried to get a picture of it all together here. I haven't finished putting the border up because it isn't sticking very well. There's a stained glass panel above the door (from Voldemort):

I'm not done decorating it, but I have all sorts of ideas.

I love that light fixture! I have a quilt a lot like that one that my grandmother made. Mine has the cats and it has dogs, dutch girls & boys.

These are my dd6's & dd8's Epcot outfits - the shirts are iron-ons by someone on the Creative DISign thread and the capris are appliqued.

I love the Jasmine top! It's beautiful.

Where did you get the Mickey heads? I'd really like to have some liek that.

Once again, another cutie! I always envied the girls that could get the "opposite side" of their hair to stick out in a perfect horizontal for several inches.

Teresajoy, my dear sister. Thank you for the sweet compliments on our house!

I knew a girl in middle shcool who had hair that stuck out horizonatlly on both sides & she had bangs that were higher than anyone's I've ever seen. i was always amazed at how well they stood up to PE & rainstorms. :lmao: :rotfl2:

I know it might not matter but . . . my daughter really really wants the Little Einstiens beads. I am actually making her an outfit to go with this necklace. I just wanted everyone to know in the spirit of making little girls happy I am bidding on these beads.

Also, she is my favorite seller of anyone. Her stuff is fantastic. I did get the Pooh Bear Halloween and my set also had Tigger. They are better in person than pictured.

I always have to use coordinating bobbin thread. My machine tends to pull the bobbin thread up to the top. I don't know if I have it on the wrong settings, or what.

Try lowering the tension on your upper thread. I normally have mine set around 5-6 but with applique I lower it to between 4-5. That allows the upper thread to be pulled more to the back to reduce the chance of the bobbin thread showing.

Oh don't you love when they reach an age to get an attitude? :headache:

Hello all!

I will try to break this down to a couple of posts:

I just finished Leighanna's Animal Kingdom outfit!
Thank goodness for the ruffler and the serger! I would not want to try to get this done without one! With these two machines, I was able to complete this in about 6 hours! Not bad for someone that used to take 3 days to complete the most simple thing!

Leighanna was actually wanting to "model" her new outfits, so I got a few pictures to share.

I also used this pink and black Mickey outfit to try something a little different.

I just didn't like how this fabric wrinkled so bad. Did anyone else have any trouble with this fabric?
Here is what I came up with:
