It took me awhile to post these. This is the 1st day of school outfit for dd6. She started 1st grade a couple weeks ago:sad1: I miss her.

This applique was my first that required any effort. I really enjoyed doing it. I am excited to try some of the princesses sometime. Luckily dd loves it when I make her anything.

Well, we just got back Monday night from a great Disney cruise and 4 nights at the Poly. We had a wonderful time. I can't tell you all the attention DD got from her outfits...the CMs and characters loved them, and people stopped me several times a day to ask where I got her outfits. :goodvibes One lady stopped us just to take a picture of her pirate outfit, and a really nice CM on the ship took DD around to show her outfit off to other CMs...it was pretty cool!

Here a some pics with some of her outfits. It's sad, but there were a few she never wore. Oh well, maybe a good excuse to go back again soon! ;)

This is super cute. You did a great job on the applique. I have really started to enjoy doing them because of the almost instant gratification. I have yet to try a princess though.

Your DD looks absolutely adorable. You definitely need to go back so she can wear all of her beautiful customs.

This is the Halloween shirt for my oldest DD. She picked out what she wanted on it. Also is the bag I made for them to use for Trick or Treating. The width is a little skinny but I made it so I could get 4 pieces per width of fabric. I found the orange shirt on sale at Michael's for $2. What a deal!!!

need some help please!! I am going to cheat and do a premade princess applique. I know I've seen the fabric with the big torsos of the princesses. I don't know where to find the fabric. I know karrierock and ladyrob both used these. Any help?

It is in the walmart fabric pillowcase area. those are appliques taken off of the fabric by the yard pillowcases!!
Personally I like these. they are a great alternative to the time consuming appliques!

Thanks! I thought that is where they were from! I'll have to check it out this weekend! I am going to make 3 tutu twirl sets. One for DD and 1 for each DNeice. I'm getting excited thinking about making these! Besides the Tinkerbell set - which I gave away :sad1: I haven't made any Disney specfic sets! I want to give them as Christmas presents, so I should have enough time!

Everything that everyone has posted lately is amazing!! I've been super busy lately, no time to sew :(

the mountain of fabric is staring at me everytime I go in my basement to use the washer and dryer, lol.

FABULOUS job! I knew right away who it was!

Her reasoning is that last year at halloween she froze her hiney off and bumbles live in the snow just like us! Makes sense since it was -10F when they went trick or treating last year
Now that I notice that you live in ALASKA, I'd say it is a pretty good bet that it will be cold!!! (Most years I have to worry about how hot it is! Last year was the FIRST year in recent memory below 85 degrees!

Oh my goodness! I LOVE this idea! I might have to CASE this (what does CASE mean exactly?) with Cars fabric. My little man would LOVE it!

What else?
Disneymomej - GREAT back to school outfit!
HLAuburn - wonderful outfits, I absolutly ADORE the last one (the black and pink with swirly). I wonder if I could find that fabric. Hmmmm.
Stephres - Wonderful, as always! (and I agree with you on the cleavage issue. I have started to notice that with my almost-five-year-old, too!)

Has anyone made anything with this fabric yet? I found some teal blue pique cotton that matches perfectly.

I'm thinking of this pattern:
M5306.jpg

Pique bodice with patterned tiers, possibly doing patterned straps (the scrunchy elastic ones), pique capris. Maybe applique a mickey head on the bodice? And maybe something extra? (I was thinking of the pom pom embellishment -lime green- at the bottom of each tier - too much?)

I am almost hesitant to post pictures of this outfit after the ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN! How can you go after that masterpiece? But anyways, I need your affirmation so here goes:
th_100_1802.jpg
I love it, as usual!! I really like the way you put the fabrics together! I know exactly what you mean about being hesitant to post. How do you think I felt when I posted the My Little Pony outfit and was immediately trumped with the fantastic Monsters Inc outfit! :lmao:

Oh my gosh, too cute!! I really like this one- not girly at all! Go ahead and post another picture. We can't see too many pictures of cute kids in great outfits!

I thought the same thing when I saw it! "Cool, the abominable snowman from Monsters Inc." I, like Heather have never seen Rudolph. It's like we grew up in the same house or something!
Weird, huh?

Snow White was pretty easy too, living with 7 guys, then marrying the first guy that kissed her. So, are you going to make her costume next? :rotfl:
:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

The ruffle really makes the whole outfit! Very cute!

I have a class reunion comin up on the 29th. I bought a cute dress at Penny's for $10 (  ) but it is a little low for my tastes. I need to figure out something to cover up a little bit. I also need to figure out how to lose about 20 pounds by the 29th! :rotfl2:
Don't listen to her- she looks gorgeous in this dress- cleavage and all!

She's adorable and so is her outfit!! It's so sweet that you miss her. I'll be a basket-case when Tessa starts school.

She looks so adorable in all of her outfits!!!

You enjoy appliques? Instant gratification? Care to share your tips? This one looks REALLY good- nice clean lines!

GeorgiaAristocat- CASE= Copy and Steal Everything
How old is the girl you're making the outfit for? It sounds really cute! I like the pom-pom idea for younger girls!

Your daughter looks just like Snow White! I forgot how awesome all of your outfits are! I like these picture trip reorts, it keeps the Magic alive!

WHAT!?!?!? How have you managed to survive all your life without Rudolph??? :rotfl:

Seriously, we end up watching it probably 100 times every year. Dd4 would saying the lines along with it 2 years ago. We also have a TON of the toys.

OH MY!!!! Yes...hey...more Land of Misfit toys fabric for ME, since it wouldn't really make sense to anyone who hasn't seen Rudolph.

You know my DD is begging & begging & begging me to do a Halloween costume this year (considering I have an orange sweatshirt that says "Official Halloween Chaperone") and she thinks I should wear something different. Maybe I'll be Dolly!!! I hadn't thought of anything but I like Dolly. LOL!!! I could handle making that outfit.

This is what I made DD. I think it was a McCalls pattern. The stripe was from the St Jude Quilt of Dreams line at Hancock, so it doesn't really "match", but I liked it together. :) I like the pattern you showed too. I think that fabirc looks great with a solid.

ok, totally off subject everyone but, my cousin had her wedding a few weeks ago and I was planning to make a scrapbook send it and have her just put the pics in the space of a frame. I was told by someone that they sell already completed themed scrapbooks that just need pics..
anyone seen where you can get them?

Lori

Sometimes they have them at Target, but I have seen them at JoAnn's and maybe Michael's. I know at JoAnn's I saw them with the scrapbook albums. Target sold them last year before Christmas and they were really cute. I got the Christmas one for a friend who doesn't scrapbook.

Oh God, my 20th is Nov 17th, if you figure out how to loose 20 pounds, can you please pass it on? i am 90 punds heavier that H.S. GASP!!!

CLASS OF "87" ROCKS DUDE!!!!!

Cool, we graduated the same year!!! Come on, let's see a graduation picture!!! Or, better yet, prom!!!

Hi everyone, I have been a total disboard lurker for a while now. I found the boards a few days before my Disney cruise in February, then later started checking out some trip reports. Just gotta say, love ya Utah Mama! Your trip reports rock! I too am a Utah mama of 4 and live off of Diet Pepsi. I just want to say I love everyone's work and you have all inspired me to start sewing again after 8 years of nothing other than edging the occasional baby quilt. I've never been much of a seamstress, but I'm starting off easy. Since finding this thread I've made 5 pairs of kids jammies, a skirt for DD10 and Minnie dot outfits with appliqued mickey heads for DD10, DD2, and DN1. I was pretty scared to applique but they turned out okay. Oh and I also made myself a puffy sleeved pirate shirt for Halloweeen. I figured I needed to get posting so I can eventually add photos! (assuming I can figure out how to do that). I'm hoping to attempt a patchwork twirl skirt, but I'm a little afraid to go "pattern free". You all have posted some great instructions though. Thanks! My sister (can't think of the shorthand for that at the moment, told ya I was new at this!) is going to Disney World for Thanksgiving and since I'd been there once before years ago, she kept asking me things about it. I started getting so jealous I ended up talking DH into a trip in January. I told the kids that instead of asking Santa for a bunch of toys this year we are going to ask him for a big surpise family gift, so for the moment I am a KOTS so I'm venting my pent up excitement in sewing. Since we are making a brief journey to Disneyland in a few weeks, the kids don't even think to ask why I'm so Disney crazy lately. It might get a little harder to explain my insanity in November and December!

You need 10 posts to do pictures. The best place to host them is http://www.photobucket.com just upload them to photobucket, then copy the IMG code next to the picture, then paste it here. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy, as Lyddy likes to say! (I just adore that child!! )

Aww, look how adorable your daughter is!!!! She is SOOO cute!!!! I love the outfit! This is a really neat use of the back to school fabric! I love the colors together!

How do you think I felt when I posted the My Little Pony outfit and was immediately trumped with the fantastic Monsters Inc outfit! :lmao:

 I loved that My Little Pony outfit!

Don't listen to her- she looks gorgeous in this dress- cleavage and all!

Thanks Heather, you are a sweety! And you KNOW I would NEVER snub you!!!

I saw someone I graduated with at the fair last night. MAN!! He got OLD!!!! :rotfl: :confused3 :rotfl2:

The Centreville Fair, where acid wash jeans and mullets NEVER go out of style!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

My latest creation:

I totally CASED this outfit from some fine ladies of this board. Now if I could just get my model to stand still we'd be good!:rotfl: Please ignore the spaghetti sauce face - I interrupted lunch to get these pictures :rolleyes1

And that is a treasure chest on the back leg of you can't tell.

I can't see the pictures! WAAH! I wanna see too!!!:badpc:

Now I need some opinions. I am making outfits for dd7 and ds5 to go along with the pirate outfit I made for ds1 a few posts back.

For ds5's shirt should it be a plain mickey on the front:

100_6026.jpg

or should I add the map and treasure chest too? I can put an equals sign between them (to symbolize map equals treasure) or just put the map and chest.

100_6027.jpg

This is my plan for the back. Any other ideas, thoughts?

100_6028.jpg

Then for dd7 I plan n making a top with these two materials. Do they go together? If they do, which mickey head would you use, the solid red (since the skulls have solid red) or the striped (since there will be the stripes on the second material?

100_6029.jpg

Any thoughts, votes, etc? Thanks in advance.
