Okay I have officially decided I hate Halloween :rolleyes1

Here's what has been torturing me for the last three weeks. I am finally done. Please tell me that she actually resembles Bumbles. My dd was adamant that she be the abominable snowman from Rudolf for Halloween. How do they come up with this stuff? But, anyway, it's not perfect but it's done and I am walking away!!!!!! I will still be vacuuming up the rogue fur for the next six months :headache:

So does this....

I think it looks great! I hate to tell you though you will be vacuuming up that fur LONGER than a 6 months :rotfl: I used some of this type of fur last year and I am STILL finding it all over the place. It gets everywhere! :scared:

This is officially the worlds best Halloween costume and you are the worlds best Mom for making it!!!!!! It is hysterical. I love it.

We are just back from the fair. Camping and the fair all in one week!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:    Brian and I fell in love at the fair. No, not THIS year, silly people! 21 years ago! Geesh, you guys are nuts! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Here is the Native American pants I made for the Boy Scouts. They needed 4 pairs right away.

Don't mind my ds hiding his face, but he doesn't like have pics taken. His hair looks that way on purpose. In fact he spends a lot of time making his hair look like that.

th_nativeamericanpants2a.jpg

Her hair looks that way, because she wouldn't let me comb it. I stole the idea of the shirt from this board (hope that is alright) also you can't see it very well but the skirt has a candy corn appliqué with the stones too.

Great job on the outfits! I love your comments about your kid's hair!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Which reminds me, there is a tutorial for a candy corn hair clip in the bookmarks.

Teresa, I'm sorry about the white hair comment. You know I love you:hug: Besides, I've seen some suspiciously light "blonde" hairs on my head lately...:rolleyes1

:snooty:

Well, I MIGHT be able to forgive you.

Is the Michael Miller fabric found at Joann's or maybe Hancocks? Or does anyone know of a good website that sells it?

Thanks to whoever brought it to my attention. My daughter and I spent two hours oohing and aahing over the fabric on their website. Such gorgeous, vibrant colors and patterns.

I'm assuming it doesn't get sold at Waldemort. At least I haven't seen anything like it around here.

I think for the most part you are going to find Michael Miller fabrics online. Tons on voldemort (that's the code name, right?).

I have a bunch of sites bookmarked on my other computer. Will post tomorrow if no one else does.

OMG...That is WONDERFUL!!! Very Creative! I LOVE it Nana

Thank you everybody for the compliments. I just don't trust in my abilities yet. I've only sewn for 2 months now and I am so critical of everything I do. I find it very funny that dd wants to be Bumbles. What other 7 year old girl do you know that wants to be an abominable snowman :rotfl2: Her reasoning is that last year at halloween she froze her hiney off and bumbles live in the snow just like us! Makes sense since it was -10F when they went trick or treating last year

Thank you again everyone. I swear I would have given up on sewing several times if it wasn't for the support and encouragement of this board :grouphug:

Thank you so much. I just love those directions. I even have time before to make them before the Hillridge Farm field trip I made the outfits for.

Make sure you post some pictures! Glad I could help! I want to try the strawberry and watermelon.

I am getting ready to start working on my kids clothes for Disney and I thought I read in an earlier post (around July sometime) that there is a specific link to a thread where just the outfits that people have done here are posted-I am just looking for ideas and so many of the outfits here are fabulous. Am I correct? If there is, does anyone have the link?

I love the idea of test-driving a machine!!!! Do they let you do that at the store or take it home? I know with saddles for horses...you can take them home and try it on the horse!!! :rotfl2:

Um....I'm pretty sure they won't let you take the sewing machines home and try them on your horse.... Sheeesh...

I LOVE it!! Great job! It also looks like the abominable snowman from Monsters Inc (since I've never seen Rudolph)!

The link is in the very first post in this thread. There's plenty of inspiration there!!

WHAT!?!?!? How have you managed to survive all your life without Rudolph??? :rotfl:

Seriously, we end up watching it probably 100 times every year. Dd4 would saying the lines along with it 2 years ago. We also have a TON of the toys.

I am still working on the High School Musical skirts for the dd's b-day party.
Yay! Scouting is so fun, huh? I can practically hear hims saying "mOOOM!" as you click the pictures for us! :cool2:

Your dd looks like she loves her new halloween outfit! You did a great job! I love anything with candy corn

Ok, I was up until 1:00 in the morning last night finishing up the Aurora Costume From Helk. I made it without sleeve or skirt underlinings so the sleeves and skirt are just one layer thick. It's still very heavy IMHO. I have to iron it and make Norah Princess-y and take some pictures. Laterish.

I think I made every single mistake you can name on the first bodice (the one that was trashed in my snit) like sewing one right and one wrong side together using a teeny stitch length for seam-ripping "fun". I didn't mark notches. I accidentally would sew little pieces of fabric not supposed to be in the seam :headache: ...all in all the dress took days to make and stressed me out.

I will only do "easy" princesses from now on. Oh, wait, I meant easy patterns

I have a few more zippers and hems and embelishments and hair bows to do and then I'll zip-lock bag all her outfits together and pack!

T-Minus 3 days till Go Time!

princess: = :headache:

I am almost hesitant to post pictures of this outfit after the ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN! How can you go after that masterpiece? But anyways, I need your affirmation so here goes:

Like UtahM, I because fast friends with my seam ripper with this one. I hated this pattern and was cursing out Lizzie McGuire the whole time. But Megan loves it and demanded I finish it so she could wear it to school today. She told everyone at the bus stop "my mommy sewed this for me." She will probably spill paint on it or something.

Oh and I was not happy with how low in the front it came out. What is it with these patterns wanting cleavage on the under 6 set?

This is my latest boy outfit ^_^ I wanted to add the pic of him crashed on the couch after these pics but thought that might be too many.

The pants have a spiderweb cuff that folds up/down for extra wear on growing little ones.

The snowman costume is just gorgeous!!! You did a fab job.

I know I'm going backwards but I'm gettin caught up on posts..Curse me for not logging in everyday then I wouldn't have this issue.
