Um....I'm pretty sure they won't let you take the sewing machines home and try them on your horse.... Sheeesh...
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao:
I LOVE it!! Great job! It also looks like the abominable snowman from Monsters Inc (since I've never seen Rudolph)!

I thought the same thing when I saw it! "Cool, the abominable snowman from Monsters Inc." I, like Heather have never seen Rudolph. It's like we grew up in the same house or something!
I will only do "easy" princesses from now on. Oh, wait, I meant easy patterns
:
Snow White was pretty easy too, living with 7 guys, then marrying the first guy that kissed her. So, are you going to make her costume next? :rotfl:

I'm glad you finished the dress! I can't wait to see it. I have that pattern too, I'm not sure if I want to attempt it though!

I am almost hesitant to post pictures of this outfit after the ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN! How can you go after that masterpiece? But anyways, I need your affirmation so here goes:

th_100_1802.jpg

Oh and I was not happy with how low in the front it came out. What is it with these patterns wanting cleavage on the under 6 set?

Steph, Megan looks ADORABLE!!! As usual!!! I love the outfit, it's gorgeous! Those fabrics are really something. You did a really great job!

I think those Lizzy patterns are all a little low. On Arminda's Pooh toile one, I had to sew in a "modesty panel" (Thanks Umama for that term!). Come on people! we don't want our little girls showing even non existant clevage!

ILike UtahM, I because fast friends with my seam ripper with this one. I hated this pattern and was cursing out Lizzie McGuire the whole time. But Megan loves it and demanded I finish it so she could wear it to school today. She told everyone at the bus stop "my mommy sewed this for me." She will probably spill paint on it or something.

I noticed the the "clevage" issue on a dress I made for my DD(she is 6 as well) recently. It was WAY to lowcut in the front so I added a "ruffle".

dotdress.jpg

Not the best pic of DD but you can see the black "ruffle" I added to the neckline. I took an extra piece of fabric folded it in half (serged the bottom) "pleated" the fabric and stiched it on. A lot more coverage for cleavage LOL.

This is adorable and I love your fabric/color choices! Great Job!

This is my latest boy outfit ^_^ I wanted to add the pic of him crashed on the couch after these pics but thought that might be too many.

As a mom to 2 DD's and no boys, I usually don't pay a ton of attention to the boy's outfits but I LOVE this one! How cute! Sometimes I think the boy things are too cutesy but this is adorable! Great job! Way to Go!!!!!

Oh, Utahmom, you are my alter ego...I am so exhausted from playing beat the clock with the sewing machine....I put horsehair braid in the hem and it wasn't difficult, but then I had to hand sew the horsehair braid. It is a long long hem...took the dress back to machine to spruce up a few things and each time, that dag gone horsehair braid caught on something on my machine and ripped my handstitching!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARG....I ripped so many times with this new seamripper that I have two puncture wounds in my middle finger...so I now officially call it quits...have to pack tonight, leave tomorrow...will hand sew some things in WDW...but no hair bows (she doesn't need them -- she has very fine, Shirley Temple curls and nothing stays in...no special socks I intended to make...and only one shirt I sewed "wings" on the sleeves...but, it will be ok.

Have a great time! I know I will no longer chained to the sewing machine!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

susan, makayla's grandma...who wears a Minnie Mouse youth hat in the parks...so if you see me, shout out!

That's really cute! I wouldn't know that the ruffle wasn't in the original design if you hadn't told us! That's really cute.

I have a class reunion comin up on the 29th. I bought a cute dress at Penny's for $10 (
) but it is a little low for my tastes. I need to figure out something to cover up a little bit. I also need to figure out how to lose about 20 pounds by the 29th! :rotfl2:

Crazy lady. I love this better! I can't wait to get back to sewing with cotton. Faux fur is horrible. But first I have to vacuum out the sewing machine :rotfl2: But thank you for the compliment. You lift my spirits :flower3:

I LOVE the colors on this! I think some adults could use a modesty panel too!!

Oh how I wishI had a little boy to wear this one! So cute, and tough, and even kinda "ganster" style!

Hi everyone, I have been a total disboard lurker for a while now. I found the boards a few days before my Disney cruise in February, then later started checking out some trip reports. Just gotta say, love ya Utah Mama! Your trip reports rock! I too am a Utah mama of 4 and live off of Diet Pepsi. I just want to say I love everyone's work and you have all inspired me to start sewing again after 8 years of nothing other than edging the occasional baby quilt. I've never been much of a seamstress, but I'm starting off easy. Since finding this thread I've made 5 pairs of kids jammies, a skirt for DD10 and Minnie dot outfits with appliqued mickey heads for DD10, DD2, and DN1. I was pretty scared to applique but they turned out okay. Oh and I also made myself a puffy sleeved pirate shirt for Halloweeen. I figured I needed to get posting so I can eventually add photos! (assuming I can figure out how to do that). I'm hoping to attempt a patchwork twirl skirt, but I'm a little afraid to go "pattern free". You all have posted some great instructions though. Thanks! My sister (can't think of the shorthand for that at the moment, told ya I was new at this!) is going to Disney World for Thanksgiving and since I'd been there once before years ago, she kept asking me things about it. I started getting so jealous I ended up talking DH into a trip in January. I told the kids that instead of asking Santa for a bunch of toys this year we are going to ask him for a big surpise family gift, so for the moment I am a KOTS so I'm venting my pent up excitement in sewing. Since we are making a brief journey to Disneyland in a few weeks, the kids don't even think to ask why I'm so Disney crazy lately. It might get a little harder to explain my insanity in November and December!

I love that fabric! I think I have that Lizzie pattern come to think of it. The end result is so cute! Hopefully she wont get ketchup or paint on it :headache: Love her cheeser face! Norah excitedly calls her "my Fwend!" How funny she has "imaginary friends" like me!

Hi Alter Ego!
I think my seam ripper is DULL now! Is that what happens to them? Plus I have more pin pricks on my hands than a diabetic. And, at one point while hand sewing, I shoved the needle under my thumb nail..."OUCH!" (except I think I really said something less mama-like)

I'm just finishing up little things. Eazy Peazy Lemon Squeezy.

OH!!! I forgot to tell you guys. I just bought a new fancy-shmancy whitch hat complete with feathers, netting and spiders. It vanished. GONE. **PooF**

I called Walmart, no. I looked in the car, No. I turned my house upside down and inside out, no. It was $10! I'm gonna be a sucky, hatless witch for MNSSHP! :guilty:

Yeah it is. I paid an arm & a leg for it....Boo Hoo goes my bank account.

I LOVE it!! Great job! It also looks like the abominable snowman from Monsters Inc (since I've never seen Rudolph)!

Wow that was fast! It seems like just yesterday you posted the fabric! Great job and she looks so cute in it!

OMG that is way too cute!!!!!!

I also need to figure out how to lose about 20 pounds by the 29th!

Let me know if you figure anything out! :thumbsup2

I know put me on the quick weight loss too. I have a party (fancy) to go to saturday and nothing to wear. I'll be checking out Target this week.

I'm at that wonky part after baby where one size is a bit big and the other a bit small. Ugh.

need some help please!! I am going to cheat and do a premade princess applique. I know I've seen the fabric with the big torsos of the princesses. I don't know where to find the fabric. I know karrierock and ladyrob both used these. Any help?

THis is so cute! I had that issue with a dress I made DD. I had to have her wear a t shirt under it.
I love those fabrics.

Oh boy what a cutie pie! This is adorable. Have you seen the costumes at the DIsney Store? They have Nightmare Before Christmas costumes for Grownups. Even a Zero costume for your dog.

I did see them!

I just got a Jack costume for the little guy for $6.50! I'm on the search for a Sally costume for lil'mama.
