Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 4

Now, I have a question... in all of these cute pictures, you see everyone's house is clean. I must know, do you just clean in that one spot for your pics or are your homes that clean AND you have kids AND you sew? I'm just looking at her wood floor and thinking... "I remember when my floor looked like that, when it was new!
I speak only for myself when I say I just use my arms like a bulldozer and push all the "stuff" out of the way before I snap the picture. It takes Sawyer about 10 minutes to put said "stuff" right back where it was after the photo is taken.

Ok I must confess that I have been following this thread and I said "well I can't sew, so I'll just go (you know where) and get some cute disney customs. Well I have spent way too much and hardly gotten anything to show for it. The more I look at these pages, the more I think, maybe I should try it. Anyone want to help a newbie out? Where do I begin and is it possible with two little ones at my feet?
Yay! We have another convert! Lots of people say they can't sew, but most of us on here couldn't sew before we found this thread! I'm so glad you're going to try it out. I wanted to add that teresajoy's bookmarks (in the first post in this thread and in my signature) have some great sewing tips for beginners. Here's a great place to start: http://www.sewing.org/educator/html/ed_guidelines.html

I do have to mop at least once a week though due to owning a 230 pound inside dog named Oscar!
Am I reading that right? 230 :scared1: pounds!?!? WOW! We have a 14 pound miniature schnauzer and I thought that SHE made a mess of the wood floors! Does Oscar scratch them up with his nails? If not, I want to know what kind of wood floor you have!

It's nice to see another Wendy around. I've only ever met a couple. Hope you have a great day!

Okay, got a few more pics that I must share.

Of course here's us at Minnie's sewing machine

Your DD is so sweet! Did you make yourself a Minnie dot skirt? I'm playing with the idea of making one for myself, but I keep thinking I'll look as big as a house in it. Yours (from what I can see) and Piper's look really cute, so that's encouraging. If you made it will you share your pattern #?

**edited to say - Oops, just read that you bought the skirt. Thanks for the info!

OK, first and foremost: HAPPY BIRTHDAY UtahMAMA! party: Hope you have a great day!

Secondly, I finished the Monsters outfit! Now that it's all finished, though, I wonder if it's too much white? If I should add anything?

Actually I bought it at Jc Penny about a month ago. The hair thing I'm wearing was actually a sash/belt around the skirt waist, which I took off, because I did look like a house! It made my shirt all bunch up, I don't need any help in that area! It was only sewn in on one side seam, so I got the trusty seam ripper out and fixed that! Also it is not the large minnie dot size, much smaller. Big pattern on big girls, not too flattering!:goodvibes

Happy Birthday Utahmama! Hope it's a great one and that you are spoiled silly!! :pixiedust:

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sew jealous. This is one of my favorites!!! Too cute!!!!

You all know that I have no little kiddles to make WDW creations for right now (HOWEVER.... we did find out yesterday that my DD that is expecting is having a baby BOY!!! Yipppeeeee! Gotta watch oput for those boy designs now!) SO....... I decided to go "Boo-tique" on my apron designs! While it's not Disney..... it is fun!

My DD is a fllight attendant for SWA and is always in need for a non boring, non SWA apron for work. I made this Halloween Apron for her to use while she is flying.

Hope it's ok to share! You all have been so great sharing all your creations and I just wanted to show you how you've influenced this ol' grandma!

BEAUTIFUL work! LOVE IT!

OOOH I want to see pictures of Oscar! My "dream dog" is a Great Pyrenees Mountain dog. Sadly I live in a PUG sized house:rotfl:. My cousin has 2 huge great danes and another cousin has a massive Mastiff.

I'll have to take a picture of him! He is my buddy but he could definitely live in a small house, all he does is sleep all day!!! He is the biggest lug I know. He is only 3 1/2 yrs. old and that is all he has ever done! We do take him on short walks occasionally at night when it's not too hot or cold (he doesn't seem to like extreme temps!) while the girls ride their bikes. I've actually heard that mastiffs make good dogs for apartment people b/c they don't really need a lot of running space and my Oscar surely doesn't! He just wants to have a place to sleep near us - very low maintainace dog except for the hair thing!

We have a type of hardwood that I had never seen before in the other places I had lived (St. Louis, Cleveland and KC). They are still oak floors but after they lay them they go through and scrape them by hand and then put the stain on them. They look distressed so if he scratches them it really doesn't matter but I really don't think he does. We lived in KC when he was a puppy and had high gloss hardwoods that he never seemed to scratch. I was afraid of him scratching them though so when we moved to Dallas and I saw this was an option/standard in most homes in our price range I made sure ours had them just to be on the safe side. He is a very low key dog and doesn't run anywhere so I actually think he is pretty easy on them, probably easier than a small dog! And yes, you read that right, 230 pounds! He's a big boy!
