Secondly, I finished the Monsters outfit! Now that it's all finished, though, I wonder if it's too much white? If I should add anything?

A few days ago did you say that you just started sewing? Are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!! This is fantastic! Your appliques are great! I love the idea! By the way, where did you find the Monsters, Inc. fabric? I love it! I'd say I have to CASE the outfit but my appliques would look nowhere near as good! In fact, mine would look terribe!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I meant to do this yesterday but I forgot! Happy Birthday Utah Mama! A day late (I am always a day late, it never fails!)!

These are AWESOME!
If you feel like you WANT to break up the white - I would suggest a simple sash belt out of alternating purple and blue/green polka dot fabrics. I think it would tie it together nicely. (Sash belt - that's always my answer!)

You will soon notice all my pictures are in the same place in my house...the only place that is normally clean, right in front of my fireplace ;)

That is adorable!! I hope I can learn how to do something like this! Work, work, work I'm sure!

glorib~ That is FANTASTIC work! I love the whole outfit - like someone said, you could add a sash belt, but I think it is fine as it is, too.

I must try applique. Soon(ish).

OMG!! that is so cute you should be very proud of yourself i want one for me

You all know that I have no little kiddles to make WDW creations for right now (HOWEVER.... we did find out yesterday that my DD that is expecting is having a baby BOY!!! Yipppeeeee! Gotta watch oput for those boy designs now!) SO....... I decided to go "Boo-tique" on my apron designs! While it's not Disney..... it is fun!

My DD is a fllight attendant for SWA and is always in need for a non boring, non SWA apron for work. I made this Halloween Apron for her to use while she is flying.

Hope it's ok to share! You all have been so great sharing all your creations and I just wanted to show you how you've influenced this ol' grandma!

that is adorable i may have to CASE that. how fun it would be to do aprons for each Holiday

I meant to do this yesterday but I forgot! Happy Birthday Utah Mama! A day late (I am always a day late, it never fails!)!

:grouphug:
actually you are right on time not a day late it's today:woohoo:
okay now to go catch up the boards were down last night boo

Okay, I went back to get ALL of the Chip & Dale fabric. I'm keeping a bit for me, and there's a bit left. I'll try to figure out what to do and how to do it with the rest of this fabric. ;)

Okay, now for the other fabric I found, I noticed a few other RARE Disney and other character prints that I wanted to show everybody. I love to see all of the cool fabric prints people post. Somebody posted a Peter Pan one a few months ago that was TDF! My pictures aren't the best, but they get the idea across. These were all also in the clearance/imported fabric section (many were only 1.99/yd!). Can you believe it? What a bargain! I can't believe they weren't snatched up long ago. These are *that* cute..and good quality too!

First is a pink "Baby Minnie" print. It's not seersucker, but more of a nice lightweight crinkled cotton. It's even cuter when you see it in person. For scale, minnie is about the size of a silver dollar

Next not Disney, but a popular character nonetheless. For scale, Hello Kitty is about the size of a silver dollar (100% cotton woven):

Not Disney or a character, but really cute and I've NEVER seen it before (even though I've been known to make my rounds at dozens of fabric stores) It's the same scale as Scrabble tiles (nice weight flannel material):

I'm posting this one only because it's also rare and you never know what'll make someone's day :rotfl: (100% cotton woven)

Lastly, my most favorite one of all. I didn't buy it tonight, but I put the entire lot of it on hold to purchase tomorrow. I wanted to get your opinion first if you think others might be interested in this print and if it could possibly sell well on a certain auction site. It was almost DIRT cheap for suprisingly TOP quality flannel fabric, but I can't afford to buy it all outright if I couldn't unload it *elsewhere* ;) (DH is already working a 2nd job as it is). But isn't this fabric PERFECT for custom Fall/ Winter pajamas?! It's a very nice weight flannel--not too heavy not too light! I want to make some pjs for my whole family!! How on earth did I miss this one yesterday?! For scale, the teacups are about the size of an average lime or lemon
100_3363.jpg

Okay, I am just now going through all the pages I missed while we were moving.....................these fabrics are great! Love the Chip and Dale and teacups!

Did you go back for the teacups? Have you been listing it on you-know-where?

I think the Peter Pan fabric referred to may have been mine, a large print with splashes of red. I have a dress cut out but haven't sewn it yet for DD..........Hopefully can post it soon, I have so much sewing to do it isn't even funny!

Now, I have a question... in all of these cute pictures, you see everyone's house is clean. I must know, do you just clean in that one spot for your pics or are your homes that clean AND you have kids AND you sew? I'm just looking at her wood floor and thinking... "I remember when my floor looked like that, when it was new!"

I've been wondering the same thing especially this morning while I mopped my living room, office and foyer. All while wishing I could be sewing or scrapbooking.

I love my hardwoods but I am getting sick of mopping them.

Maybe they all have maids :rolleyes1

Wow Wow ANd Wow. THese are beautiful Appliques!

I wouldn't add anything I love it. I don't think it is too much white. It makes the appliques really stand out. I love your color combinations. I would never think to use that Polka Dot fabric and I love it.

Ok I must confess that I have been following this thread and I said "well I can't sew, so I'll just go (you know where) and get some cute disney customs. Well I have spent way too much and hardly gotten anything to show for it. The more I look at these pages, the more I think, maybe I should try it. Anyone want to help a newbie out? Where do I begin and is it possible with two little ones at my feet?

You might like Simplicity Pattern 4206 It is "Sewing Patterns for Dummies" (Not that your a dummy. I wish they would call it Sewing for Beginners or somthing nicer)

Anyways, it is a pattern for a peasant shirt, a twirl skirt, a pair of shorts and a pair of capri pants.

Good Luck getting started!

I was in the Disney Store at the mall yesterday and they had some great Nightmare Before Christmas Costumes for Grown-ups. They even had a little Zero costume for dogs. The costumes were really cute.

THey also had some good sales. I got DD a backpack and lunch box for $10.

The backpacks were marked down to $7 and the lunchboxes were only 3.50.

Of course it's okay to share! I'm glad you did! That apron it really cute and it gives me an idea for a Christmas gift for my Grammy.

Lori - This set is fabulous! I love the white and your appliques are amazing!! You go girl!

Actually I bought it at Jc Penny about a month ago. The hair thing I'm wearing was actually a sash/belt around the skirt waist, which I took off, because I did look like a house! It made my shirt all bunch up, I don't need any help in that area! It was only sewn in on one side seam, so I got the trusty seam ripper out and fixed that! Also it is not the large minnie dot size, much smaller. Big pattern on big girls, not too flattering!:goodvibes

Thanks for the info! And I hear ya on the pattern. That's exactly what's holding me back from making the skirt. Maybe I'll keep my eye out for some medium dot fabric.
