Those appliques are just gorgeous! I don't think it's too much white at all. I love the Monsters Inc. fabric. I don't think I've ever seen any like that.

Very cute apron. I have a pattern for matching aprons for me & dd4. I may just have to make them holiday themed now.

OK, first and foremost: HAPPY BIRTHDAY UtahMAMA! party: Hope you have a great day!

Secondly, I finished the Monsters outfit! Now that it's all finished, though, I wonder if it's too much white? If I should add anything?

Absolutely beautiful! It really is gorgeous! I think it looks good as is.:thumbsup2

Love the monsters inc outfit!!! Really cute and I don't think it's too much white at all...it balances out the colors really nicely!

I've been away for a while and all I can say is WOW!!!!

the mosters Inc is fantastic! I love the details.

The FSU outfit is very cute depsite the team :lmao:

And I know this was waaay back- but AimeeG- that Belle outfit is to die for! And I love the crab outfits since I'm in MD!

I've been sewing some in preparation for our trip in 7 days :cool1: I hope to have some pics to show soon.

While I was gone, I went to a Hobby Lobby- what a store! I could've spent lots of time and $ in there. But I was flying and not able to bring much back.

PM me if you would like a mostly completed peasant top.

Pattern is Simplicity 4264, the pink peasant top on the cover. Item 270164570197 in Voldemort has the real pattern cover with a picture of the top. (Simplicity website doesn't show this top on it's pattern cover :confused3 )

White-on-white print body with a tiny flower, Walmart Minnie dot sleeves. Top's straight-stitched (thankfully I don't overcast until I've tried it on her) has no trim or flower on it and no bottom hem. Tried it on my tall skinny daughter and it falls off her shoulders and stops at her belly button.

I leave in 9 days and am out of town next week. I don't have time to work with it. I'm sure someone out there can save it!

I'll accept PMs until 9pm tonight, then I'll pick someone randomly. I will then (gleefully :rolleyes1 ) squish it into a ziploc, then an envelope, and send it on it's merry way at my cost.

The Monster Inc outfit is incredible! Such talent! The colors look great. A bright hat or bow would eliminate any worry of too much white. But I wouldn't worry because the eye is drawn to the great detail!:)

Note to self: Don't look at pictures of new outfits when DD(3) is around...

She just loves the Monsters Inc. outfit and demanded I make her one, I told her I would try for our Nov./Dec. trip because it wasn't going to happen by next Thursday.

While DD was at school today I hit a local needlework and quilt store, I found sock monkey fabric, some circus fabric, and Olivia the pig! I'm so excited about the Olivia that I may push back a Disney one for the Olivia one.

Because I have so much fabric left over from making Halloween skirts, I was wondering, how do you do the "decoupage jeans" thing? Do you use the wonder under and applique the fabric on? I have a ton of left overs and thought that this would be a great way to use some of my scraps up. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I don't use anything under my patches. I just hold down and sew about 1/4" from side with a zigzag stitch. I try to have my stitches end in a spot that will be covered by another patch so it will be stronger(it was suggested by LisaZoe). I am addicted to making these now, it is the one thing I can really sew!

Secondly, I finished the Monsters outfit! Now that it's all finished, though, I wonder if it's too much white? If I should add anything?

I don't know where the OP of the outfit got her Monster's Inc fabric from, but I've got some of that - and another print with a blue background - that I picked up two+ years ago on clearance at a JoAnn's. Don't know what I'll do with it - DD has boycotted Monster's Inc.

I am pretty sure they don't make the Monsters Inc fabric anymore, I have a little of it from about 2 years ago. Different print than the one shown, mine is blue with Mike and Sully on it. I think I bought it at Walmart.

I don't have that same Monsters fabric, but I have one with a blueish-purple color background and the characters on it. It is really cute, it was at Hancock Fabric in the clearance section

I've been wondering the same thing especially this morning while I mopped my living room, office and foyer. All while wishing I could be sewing or scrapbooking.

I love my hardwoods but I am getting sick of mopping them.

Maybe they all have maids :rolleyes1

OKAY - the only maid in my house w/ the hardwoods is ME! I am currently dreaming about a cleaning woman/maid but it's not anywhere in the budget unfortunately! I agree - I am tired of mopping them though. I keep thinking as I mop them that carpet would be a lot easier, you just have to vacuum but with tile and hardwoods I vacuum/sweep and then mop on top of it. It's double duty! And your right, I could be sewing or scrapping! It's just too bad I'm a bit freakish about cleanliness w/ my silly pooch!

I actually picked up the Monsters Inc. fabrics a few weeks ago at Hancock fabric, just haven't done anything with it yet.

I did finally get around to taking pictures of the rest of the outfits, I gave up trying to have DD model them.

This is the top to DD's Minnie costume, she'll wear a white puff sleve tee under it and I'm working on a pair of white muslin bloomers that will be trimmed with the same red gingham and eyelet trim...

This is the top for her Animal Kingdom outfit, I'm also making Minnie dot bloomers with a zebra ruffle.

This is her EPCOT outfit, I'm pairing it with slim black leggings...

This is the Mickey dress I made, it's really long on her but she loves it, it's got some serious twirl happening...

Only 7 more days to go... I still have another Mickey outfit and a Nemo top to do before we leave.

ME!!!!!!! Found it on Ebay for around $5.75 a yard but I have so much fabric that I can't possibly buy more until I finish what I have!
