Dallas was all into modeling today so got some really cute pictures of him pulling leaves off trees and what not in the outfit!

I made this to try out ribbon before I do my shirts and my best friends daughter can wear it.

Hi

I am glad you liked it. I did buy the Cinderella but not sure if this is going to help. I brought the material for it in Australia. It has a soft pink background and has pictures of Cinderella, Belle, and Sleeping Bueaty, I just then cut out the Cinderella and it was hand appliqued onto the top that my mum made. I hope this helps. If you would like me to put a picture of the material up I will.
Hope it helps

Sam
That does help...thanks! I actaulyl think I know the fabric it came from. My mom made some sheets for my DD a while back and I have some scraps. Off to dig in my scrap pile in hopes of finding something I can use!

Although I'm in Dallas now (McKinney actually) I used to live in Olathe and we miss OP like crazy. We lived at 143rd and Pflumm.

HEY- I live in McKinney too! I bet we are neighbors!!

I went to JoAnns and bought quilt scissors. I couldn't find any that said rag quilt. The package said it was good for cutting through multiple layers of fabric.

Those may be the ones! Are they spring loaded and have a short tip?

Anyone have any non ruffler foot ruffling tips???

We miss our favorite restaurants and haven't found anything to replace them. We loved Stonewall Pizza and Stroud's!!! We miss the Country Club Plaza too. I think if given the chance we'd move back. There is just something about the midwest that we miss so much. Unless DH could get a transfer closer to WDW, then we'd have to reconsider!

Wow! We were close. We lived at 147th and Strange line/Murlen up till about 6 years ago when we moved further south. There really aren't many places around with as many food options as Johnson County!

traci,
i love this cindy outfit!! and dd would too! did you make this one? it looks like the spiral strip skirt type pattern??? would you mind sharing the pattern? im just in love w/ this outfit- simple blue & white but sooo cute!

thanks!
tonya

You didn't ask me the question, but DD5 has the same dress.

IMG_1557.jpg

I had serious issues with this dress! It was at least 2 sizes too big for my DD! It was custom made to her measurements! :confused3

Traci - where did you get your Cindy bows? I'm looking for a set for DD to wear with the same dress!!

I must say that I love seeing all the beautiful creations, but it is some much more special to actually see the pictures from "The World"!

Karrierock - are those custom jewels I see around your neck?! Very cute, and I love your smiles around the world skirt - I might have to CASE!! DD has this outfit - I'd match!!

Mostly just a lurker here - but I wanted to share some of the things
I've been doing. This is Sophie, our youngest, she's 20 months. She
refuses to pose for photos, I have to bribe her with candy.:scared1:
(I'm a dietitian:rotfl: ). She also has drool all over her because she
kept taking the candy out of her mouth and looking at it.:rotfl2:

I actually made this last year for MNSSHP, my husband calls it her disco
mickey outfit. I'm going to lengthen the straps a little before our next trip.

Back to school outfit for the older girls first day...

101_0730.jpg

This one I just did for her because she likes "kitties". My mom had ordered
this redondo twirl skirt pattern, so I thought I would give it a shot. Not easy!!!
Anyone have any tips on sewing the strips together? Maybe it was b/c I made
hers by a size 1/2 and the spirals are a little more tight?
101_0728.jpg

And then the Minnie Safari outfit...
101_0724.jpg

101_0720.jpg

I used the link from Teresa's bookmarks (from just tutes) to make the peasant
style shirt. It was pretty easy, but I down-sized it by an inch all around and it's
almost too small. So if anyone needs to know, I think the pattern is about a
size 2T. Have a great night everyone.

We would have been practically neighbors. I used to jog the path along there when I was training for a marathon. This area is booming with real estate. We love suburbia so we LOVE it here. The schools are great and everything you need is right here. It's a good thing there are a ton of restaurants here because I don't cook. I rarely go north of College Blvd.

Those may be the ones! Are they spring loaded and have a short tip?

Anyone have any non ruffler foot ruffling tips???

They are spring loaded, but don't have a short tip (if that refers to the blade part). The blades look like regular scissors. The package says Razor Edged.

As far as non ruffler foot ruffling tips, I don't have much to offer. I don't have a ruffler foot so I pin my ruffle on, making it in as even increments as I can. I start at one side and pin the ruffle to the skirt (if that's what I'm sewing the ruffle to). Then I pin the other side, making sure the ruffle is pinned at the 1/2 way mark. So now, the ruffle is pinned to the skirt at both sides. Then I pin the ruffle to the front of the skirt, again using the 1/2 way mark of the ruffle (this is actually the 1/4 mark of the entire ruffle. It's the 1/2 way mark for the front part of the ruffle. The other 1/2 of the ruffle is on the back side of the skirt). After I pin the front, I do the same thing to the back.

Depending on how twirly the skirt is, I may pin it at the 1/2 way mark again (now it's the 1/8 mark). After I pin it to my satisfaction, I start to sew. I just bunch up the ruffle between the pins and hope it looks ok when I'm finished.

This is very confusing and it's not the correct way to do a ruffle. This is one reason why I make homemade clothes instead of custom clothes!

I have this fabric.... and I absolutely love the frilly, fluffy, floppy black stuff you used ! TOO CUTE!!

Thanks disney4me - Im sure I'll figure something out - just want it to look halfway decent... these are the "well dressed" kids that she'll be playing with so I want her to look put together instead of the normal ragamuffin she is!

I have a "quilting with the muppets" book up for grabs... here's what I am going to do... I'll take pm's till 2pm eastern time tomorrow...

Here's the catch... I just cleaned up my daughters room today moved furniture etc in preparation of moving her art table upstairs so that she can do puzzles and things without her brother bothering her downstairs.

I went through all her books etc and actually counted the coloring books (which I will hint was between 1 and 25)... the person that comes closest to the number without going over will get the book. Which has some really cool applique patterns. In the event of a tie I will put names in a hat and have my DD draw one. Here's a LINK to a picture of the book...

Let's see if I can explain this - put a basting stitch at the top (without backstitching either end). Then pin at the 1/2 and possibly 1/4 marks (so that everything is even), then pull one of the threads to gather everything up. Sew in place. Did that make sense? (Was that even what you were asking?) I don't have a ruffler foot, and can do some dandy gathering. This is how I was taught.

VERY cute outfits and even cuter daughter! Great job!

I had serious issues with this dress! It was at least 2 sizes too big for my DD! It was custom made to her measurements! :confused3

This makes me super nervous because I ordered this dress and it should be here this weekend for our upcoming trip (12 days    ) I hope it fits. What did you do to help make it fit---did you have to resew because I am out of time. I just had to resew a camp shirt I ordered for Russell(1)---it probably would have fit Roseanna(4). I have been sewing like crazy and turned to voldermort for some help---but turning into not so helpful.

2cutekids and tonya,
I am ashamed to say, but I cannot remember who made the cindy bows. i had so many things made the last few months. I will try to find out though.
As for the dress...I wanted it super short w/bloomers. I like it longer but for my daughter, something short and easy to move around in would work better for her. We are wimps in that Florida heat! I didn't have any issues with the size, thankfully. Are we allowed to post who made the outfits in an open forum here (from that place where you can buy stuff by bidding...I see you all have cute nicknames so I honestly have no idea if I can even put the *E* word here)? I don't mind doing so if it's okay. :goodvibes

I just want to say that Muppets book is awesome! That is what made me learn to applique. I just loved the quilts in there! Sad to say I only have 3 squares that I have ever finished.

I love these!!!!!!! I'm dying to know if it's using the YCMT spiral skirt pattern? Anyone?

I'd forgotten about this ribbon shirt, I really like it! The shoes turned out pretty cool and I think your NBC outfit is cute!

Okay, if anyone's curious about what the Weeki Wachee show is, here's a link to some of the show on youtube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=G52eNM4wsaY&mode=related&search=

When that started playing, dd16 said "what the heck are you watching"? It was pretty funny! The halfway through it she said I remember Paris & Nicole doing that on their show. And sure enough, I searched youtube and found a video of them, but didn't watch it.

I have to admit those mermaids look pretty impressive! We might have to go there Heather!

Ok, first of all.. she's a little doll! I keep seeing that retro Mickey fabric and had no clue what to do with it, but this is adorable! I love that chalkboard fabric too, but never could find any. I love the look on her face in that last pic!

Oh my! You have all been busy!! I leave for a week to WDW and look what you have done..about 60 pages!! I guess I have some readin' to do when I get up tomorrow!!:rotfl:
Can't wait to see all the new things!!
