Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 4

Here's what I created before I left for Chicago. Tessa picked out the fabrics, the thread for the applique, and the pony fabric (it's Starcatcher for all you Non-Pony fans). I probably wouldn't have used the 90's-esque pink and purple fabric, but she loves it and I think it turned out all right. I made my own pattern for the top! :)

She plans to wear it to Downtown Disney when she gets the "Box Full 'o Ponies".

So cute.... and so good to hear your daughter has the planning mind of her mother! Where else would she wear that dress but to DTD to fill a box 'o pony stuff!! You've trained her well!!

Hi neighbor. Where in KC are you? I'm in South OP.

I'm not the neighbor you were quoting, but I am just south of south OP! How funny. I always think of everyone here as very far away in very big cities!

A-mazing! Congrats on winning the contest!

Ok, I was going to wait until I had the whole outfit done - but, well, I can't - I just have to share because I'm so excited! I'm making a Monsters, Inc. outfit for DD - and I have the t-shirt finished. It's the first character I've appliqued. Don't think I'll be doing any princesses any time soon, but I do have to do Mike and Sully for the skirt. Boo went ok - not great, but ok, so we'll see how the other two go. Anyway, here she is. . .

Love it! Especially the surprise logo on the back. You did a fabulous job!

I really like the lace for the pony. Good choice!

I really like it! Very nice.

Here's a few pics from our photopass, I still need to go through and delete all the bad ones from the camera.... I've flipped all these photos in photobucket, but they have a mind of their own. Now they decide to behave.....
th_DisneyPhotoImage90.jpg

Karrie, thanks for sharing all these photos. The outfits are just wonderful! I like what you did with your skirt. I'm glad you guys had such a good time :)

Here are a few from our trip :)
We aren't used to that Florida heat so I tried to have customs made that would be very comfy and cool. Some aren't very original, but I thought with the bows and accessories they came together nicely.

th_day1.jpg

I wouldn't call them unorginal at all. I love the styles of them :)

Here is my Mickey head Santa for my DS. I think for the girls I will add a ribbon across the shirt. I used fleece for the white parts.

th_disboutique046.jpg

Great use of fleece! I love how it turned out!

th_Zoodress003.jpg

This was a bit of a challenge for a beginner but it came out fairly well. The seam ripper and I got very close. And I am convinced the Ruffler foot has it out for me; the thing kept jamming but I figured out that I needed to say a little prayer with each stitch and it behaved a bit better.

It is not Disney but I think DD will wear it to AK in just 10 days!

Very cute! The seam ripper is also my friend and my ruffler is most definitely not!

Here are some pictures from our trip in April. I finally figured this out!:yay:

This dress is a t-shirt dress that my MIL made and I appliqued the Mickey head onto. I love the skirt on this dress!

th_IMG_1518.jpg

I like that skirt too! It's a little different with the yoke, looks good!

I think I showed you all this one, before it was finished. Well I finally got the waist band on it and took my pictures for Valedemort, or Wallyworld, or whatever we're calling it..:rotfl:

It came out wonderful! But you never sell stuff in my kids' sizes :sad2: :rotfl2:

Thank you! I thought this was going to be the solution. :headache: I made a t-shirt for my daughter with sharpies once - bled like crazy, so I guess I will just get a fabric marker.

So, here is the skirt I made her. It didn't turn out as well as I thought it would. But she likes it and insisted on wearing it to church yesterday. It is cords and some sueded poly.

IMG_1204.jpg

Love this one too!!! I think the colors co-ordinate so well. Good job!

The ribbon was trim from Jo Ann's. It was $11.99 a yard!!!!!!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I used the 40% off coupon and only bought a yard.

My DH is a an only child and prison food is better than my MIL's. So, we host every Jewish holiday. Luckily, Christians from the South normally can cook. That is why we have Sunday dinner.:rotfl: JK. I cook for our family and they eat. Everyone is happy except for my DH. (Parents drive him crazy.)

Here are the pics from the weekend. I have to go run errands so have a great day!!

At Pirate and Princess Party I forgot to mention the hook. Suddenly she wanted to be captain Hook, so Daddy made her hook, from the top of a hanger in the closet, a plastic cup, note paper, sharpie, clothes pin, and tape. She never put it down, she carried her little loot bag on it, and would hold it up at the treasure spots!
DisneyPhotoImage2.jpg

Her Epcot outfit, that hardly anybody saw, it rained alot, so she went barefoot, and was covered in a poncho in the stroller, so much for the shoes! Note my skirt I made it at the last minute, I got lots of attention too. Someone even offered to buy it off of me. Sorry, I need some sort of bottoms for the day.!
DisneyPhotoImage56.jpg

Here's Wendy checking out DD outfit. She got tons of attention this day! She was showing Wendy her brothers on her necklace.
DisneyPhotoImage35.jpg

The highlight of her trip, I have video of her jumping up and down, screaming, ANNIE ANNIE ANNIE, as they walked to the photo spot!

Avery got to ride with Goofy on Barnstormer (Jack declined). When we were leaving Animal Kingdom we stopped by the Character Photo spot with Winnie the Poo and Friends. We were the only ones there so we got a few family pics with all of the characters together!

I haven't even touched the Photopass yet...

Anyway, heres a few~

You guiys are making me want to have more kids and I am 48 y.o. ! These pics are so darling. I'm wondering if I can hold on 'til January when my DD has her baby. Do you think it would be too much to make a Disney outfit to bring the baby home from the hospital in?? :rotfl:

OK, first of all....I am leaving in less than 2 weeks and I need to abck away fromthis thread! Everytime I log in and look at it I see yet another outfit I must try to make!

I LOVE this!!!!!! I have been trying to figure out a princess type outfit for DD witout using princess fabrics and this is perfect. I love the colors. PLEASE tell me you bought the cinderella somewhere?! I want to copy that shirt but there is no way I could applique her. I could probably do the patches on the pants, but I bet I would royally mess Cindy up :scared: DD has the perfect pair of pants I can do this to....actually they were pants, and are now capris on her, but the waist is still perfect :rotfl:

Hi

I am glad you liked it. I did buy the Cinderella but not sure if this is going to help. I brought the material for it in Australia. It has a soft pink background and has pictures of Cinderella, Belle, and Sleeping Bueaty, I just then cut out the Cinderella and it was hand appliqued onto the top that my mum made. I hope this helps. If you would like me to put a picture of the material up I will.
Hope it helps

Sam

I'm ba-a-a-a-a-ck!!!
I missed you and all your creations while I was gone. I wish I could say I am all rested up from our trip to Washington DC, but I'm more tired now then I was when I left! WE did have a good time and I learned a few things.....
1. Washington DC in Septmember is unbearably HOT and HUMID!
2. When I'm tired, I can sleep ANYWHERE, including a haunted hotel and possibly even while standing!! LOL!
3. I may be a redneck at heart. We went to a NASCAR race while we were there and while there is a high "hassle factor" in going to them, I LOVED IT! We had such a great time.... and it was cool to see the engines blow up and cars catch on fire (oh my...... what is happening to me?)
4. Last, but certainly not least...... Busch Graden Williamsburg is NO WDW!!

I can see already that I will have LOTS to comment on, so I'm gonna work my way backwards on stuff. Let me just start by saying that No one disappointed me here! You guys always surprise with your creativity and abililities! So.... without further adieu (sp???)...

Sam- How CUTE !!! Your DD is adorable and you can tell she loves the outfit. Where are you from in Australia??? We lived in Broken Hill for about 18 months back in 1991. A L-O-N-G time ago, buit it seems like just yesterday to us!

Hi We live in Adelaide, so you may know it if you were in Broken Hill as even though we are different states Broken Hill works of a lot of Adelaide stuff. What an interesting place to have lived in Australia. You can not get much more remote if you tried. Thanks for feedback my DD does love it but I think she loves seeing herself on the internet. Thanks

Sam

Wow, aimeeg, that mermaid costume! It's even better on! No surprise she won the grand prize!

Although I'm in Dallas now (McKinney actually) I used to live in Olathe and we miss OP like crazy. We lived at 143rd and Pflumm. We are going back sometime this fall to visit friends and eat! We miss our favorite restaurants and haven't found anything to replace them. We loved Stonewall Pizza and Stroud's!!! We miss the Country Club Plaza too. I think if given the chance we'd move back. There is just something about the midwest that we miss so much. Unless DH could get a transfer closer to WDW, then we'd have to reconsider!

Of course I know Adelaide! It is the sole city that helped me to keep my sanity while we were in Broken Hill.... even if it was 5 hours away from there! I just loved that city- it's so beautiful. I have many , many good memories of Adelaide. You are a lucky girl to live there!

These pics aren't great, I nabbed them before taking DD to the bus.

Her pirate skirt.....It has one band of black with white skull and crossbones at the top then the full part in pink pirate. Under it a layer of black tulle, then a layer of white.
She loves it. She is wearing it with a homemade Elizabeth Swann tee that says "Hello poppet" She came up with the saying.

ohhhh.. love thse skirt... did you wear it to a game yet?

Lori

I just made it last night! Thanks! We didn't renew our tickets this year so I'll probably just wear it on gameday. I'm going to miss going, but not the frying in the sun!

I can forgive you, Deann, because apparently YOU have never been there. But Heather???? She's been there numerous times! :confused3 Where did we go wrong?????:confused3

My husband doesn't get it either. When my parents were sitting for the kids down here they took them to Weekie Wachie and DH was like, why are they going there? For the mermaids of course! Sheesh! Megan has an icon on my desktop so she can look at the mermaids whenever she wants.

Hey, Guess What? We have the same green tester spots on our kitchen walls. I thought I was the only one!

Well, we're off! Finally Gracie will wear her outfits. If you see us at the parks say hi!

If you haven't already - get some rag quilt scissors - I started the gator one with regular scissors and I couldn't finish it without getting them, my hands hurt so bad...

I went to JoAnns and bought quilt scissors. I couldn't find any that said rag quilt. The package said it was good for cutting through multiple layers of fabric.

Oh! I love that! I think she did a great job picking the fabric - what better to go with MLP than pink and purple? And the applique looks awesome! My DD is just getting into MLP and just saw this and said "ooooh pwetty pony!"
I think the pink & purple is perfect. Where did you get the skirt pattern? I've seen them before, but I've never seen a pattern for one.

I guess I should have clarified that the fabric looks like it has 90's style sponge painting on it. I love the colors (pink and purple are my favorites!), though.

The pattern is from YCMT.

I cannot let Megan see this one! It looks beautiful and so does Tessa! I think I have that pattern (from YCMT right?) but haven't tried it yet. It really came out great.
Thank you!! Tessa wasn't feeling very good this morning, so I wasn't sure if she'd want to take pictures. But, she wanted to "model" her dress.

Yeah, I don't get it either! Sorry Teresa :confused3
She's such a cutie! And that's a super applique! That skirt is adorable, was it complicated? I'm scared to try one!
In defense of Weeky Wachy (I can NOT figure out how to spell that!), I was about 12 years old the last time I went. So, maybe that's why I didn't like it. Do 12 year olds like anything?

The skirt was pretty easy to make...until I got to the hem. UGH!!! I don't have a clue how to sew a curved hem and this had 18 curved hems to sew. It doesn't look very good when you look at it closely.

For your viewing pleasure:
th_100_1789.jpg
I love it! The skirt is really cute, but not too cutesy.

I can forgive you, Deann, because apparently YOU have never been there. But Heather???? She's been there numerous times! :confused3 Where did we go wrong?????:confused3

Oh dear!! You guys must have been so upset! My photographer made me and Heather pose for that "fix the veil" picture too. Which I found really annoying, since it was so posed. Not that heather didn't look adorable, but it was my MOM that fixed my veil, and he didn't bother to get a picture of that!
My cousin had candles at her wedding, and she leaned to close to one and caught her veil on fire! The marriage didn't last too long either.
As to where you went wrong- you took me everywhere with you when I was 11 and you were 16. Did you really expect me to think the Mermaids were cool after that (cruisin' Westnedge Ave in a Malibu station wagon)?
:rotfl2: About Marna's wedding.

I really like the lace for the pony. Good choice!
It does look like lace, doesn't it? It's actually white printed on white fabric from Walmart. Thank you!

Thanks everyone for the compliments on the Pony dress. I pretend that I sew for my children, but it's actually to earn acceptance from all of you. :flower3:
