Ok, here's dd1 in her Halloween outfit. She really didn't want to pose for me so they aren't great.

The top alone:

A good shot of the 'baby legs' I made her to go with it.

And this one is just cute.

DD4's is pretty much the same except hers has the pumpkin fabric on the top & a candy corn applique.

Here's the finished product. THANKS to everyone who helped with the hole in the shirt and how to finish the skirt. I went with black lace ruffle at the bottom. Someone said that black would tie the skirt to the shirt and it really does.

Heidi doing her "pirate pose". I really don't know what that is or why she was doing one, but that's what she called it.

Sorry for the messy hair. She was wrestling with her sister and brother. Aleah didn't want to try on her outfit. It's almost the same.

Does anyone else have the black ghost fabric with the word Boo on it? After I cut it up, I noticed some of the boos are hidden Mickeys. I don't know if it was a Disney fabric or if the boos are supposed to be scary faces. At any rate, I thought it was cute. I used it on the top in the small Mickey head. You can really see it in the pirate pose.

I have a question about aplique and fuseable interface. I am doing a wall hanging that doesn't require stitching, although I may in do this in the end. Anyway, I was wondering if there was something I can put between the interfacing and my iron. That way I can cut the peice once and then cut out around the fabric after I have ironed the interface on.

Did that make any sense?

This totally sounds like me-first scrapbooking, then stamping, then cake decorating, then beading, now sewing! I have officially ran out of room in the craft room!!!! I usually go overboard with any hobby so of course I have an ABUNDANCE of supplies!!! At least now my DD has started hanging out with me in the craft room and using up some of my supplies, well only the ones I can bear to part with! All of the others are for the "perfect" project! :rotfl2:

I have way too many supplies being held for that "perfect" project! I have a spare bedroom turned craft room including bathroom that was the darkroom, before we went digital, a big walk in closet that holds mostly scrapbooking stuff, and now the secretary desk has become the sewing desk, did I mention the bazillion rubbermaid totes in the garage of cake decorating stuff. I will eventually take over the whole house... Wait I think I have done that already a few times:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I love all of them! I esp love the Chip n Dale. My 3yo DS loves them and it is impossible to find anything with them on it for a little boy!!!

When I read this I just couldn't help posting this photo of my DS4. I bought this t-shirt for him because we'd just spent the day building sandcastles. It's hard to see but the T-shirt is a picture of Chip and Dale building sandcastles. I put it on him because it was clean and dry and who do we run into a few minutes later but Chip and Dale, and color coordinated no less! He got a lot of attention from them. It is a great memory. :cool1:

awww...SO cute! Thanks for sharing! I just can't seem to find anything. Maybe I need a custom?!

Socks? What are socks? :rolleyes1
See that is part of the laundry problem-we have done away with socks we live in "croc" country :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We've done away with topsheets at our house, makes it much easier to get the beds made!!!

OK real quick- speaking of laundry..... I was in my basement sorting the pile and I tripped and fell!! so usually not such a big deal but I put my hands out to catch myself and I jammed my wrist and Broke a bone way up in my elbow!!!! I had to wear a sling for 5 weeks. The funny part of it is that now my son tells people that I broke my arm in the laundry :rotfl: I bet you didn't know that the laundry could cause bodily harm :rotfl2: And of course when people asked me what happened and I told them, they told me not to do laundry anymore, I said sounds great when are YOU coming over to do it for me :rotfl:
Off to school now.....

That's it! No more laundry for me!

Hey everyone! I have really enjoyed checking out all the new outfits and pics! I just started sewing last month- and am using the Singer Esteem from Target ( which I got on sale!!)

Sorry to bombard with pics- but here are some things I have done. Thanks everyone for the inspiration and encouragement!

Awesome job!!!

OMG! Love them!!!! Dd8 was sitting on the futon and about broke her neck to get to the computer when she spotted Chip & Dale! She loves them!

O.k., here's my sewing question...........

How do you guys stay motivated to keep sewing all of the time and who's doing your laundry while you sew?????????????:confused3

Isn't that what husbands are for? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Ya right I wish. I do make him do his own laundry though after he took some of the kids laundry out of the dryer and told me it was MY laundry that needed to be folded! So I then took all of his laundry and piled it up and let him know that HIS laundry needed to be folded. Needless to say after I did that he decided to fold a little more of the kids laundry as of lately!

If I could kick out outfits like Aimee I wouldn't need to do laundry I would just sew them new outfits everyday!

I wish my sewing time has been drastically cut. My first show is in two weeks and I am in big trouble I played way to hard this summer but . . .

The Aimee Gomberg Collection was featured in Country Sampler Magazine. Pretty Cool!

Not Disney related, but I need ideas for Ilana's birthday outfit! We're using this theme (the pink and purple w/ the girl in the hat). http://www.factorycard.com/cat_Birthday-1st-Birthday_1281.html

I was going to try and go to the store today to look at patterns after AJ went to school to see if it sparked something. Anyone have any pics of something they've done for a birthday? She'll be the big 1 a month from today and we're using lavender as the color to go w/ the stuff. Thanks!

OOOHHH a dark room, I almost did that with the upstairs bathroom, but I couldn't find the equipment for a reasonable price...I have things scattered throughout the whole house, my cake things are in the basement and my large totes of fabric and other large items also reside in the basement now. I think the most irritating thing is whenever my DH decides to pick things up around the house(which is not that often) he thinks that everything that he can't find a place for belongs in my craft room-right in the middle of my work tables!!!:confused3 So then I have to clean my tables off before I can even work on anything...AGGHHH

Aimee - congrats on getting featured in Country Sampler Magazine, that is Awesome!!!!!

Now I am bummed because I had to call my older dd a 10 year old! Her B-day was yesterday and I am taking it a little hard that she is in the double diggits now.:scared1:
I LOVE this! I like how you embroidered the guitars on the legs. This is truly a custom! The cheerleading outfit is adorable, too! Ah yes, the double digits. I'm not looking forward to that!

You should be proud. Those are terrific!!

Well, if you recall I have been complaining about not feeling well...I finally hoofed it to the doctor and I have a sinus infection and an ear infection. At least I got some drugs and I should be back to myself soon.
HeatherSue: Love the outfit on Tessa. Thanks for giving the pattern: I am definitely picking that up next time McCalls go on sale.

Isn't this turkey fabric the cutest? I bought way too much of it and am deciding what to do with the rest of it. Except for the one amoeba leaf, I am pretty proud of it!
I was wondering where you had been! I hope you get to feeling better. We're finally all over that awful bug we had for a few weeks around here. No more puke- YAY! Now I need to go find some wood to knock on....
I really love the fall outfit, and the amoeba leaf :lmao: Actually, I think the appliques look great!

It's a little embarassing when a 9 year old is a better sewer than I am! Of course, if you asked my middle school home ec teacher she wouldn't have been surprised, according to her I had an attitude problem. It's the only class in my whole academic life that I got a D in. I'm thinking very unkind thoughts about her right now just thinking about it!

The funny part about that is I became a teacher in that same school while she was still there! Fun times in the teacher lunchroom!
Nothing cures a bad attitude like someone telling you that you have a bad attitude.

GO WILDCATS!!!!!! I was torn this weekend though! I graduated from a "rival town" to the Wildcats and it was the homecoming for both! It was also the weekend of my, dare I say it? 20 year class reunion, and it stirred up that old hometown pride! Which is now of course, at direct odds with where I actually live! I now so want a t-shirt from my own school to wear around town! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I may just have to make a trip down to Hancocks to find that fabric!!! I want to make Arminda a Rock N RollerCoaster outfit. She rode it for the first time this last year, and she was so proud of herself! Unfortunately, I couldn't take her, (newly discovered stinkin' medical condition)but Corey did.
I live in Teresa's "rival town". However, we're not much of a rival- considering that the Bulldogs have beat the Wildcats ONE time in the last 30 years, I believe (when I was a senior- WOO-HOO!).
Sorry for making you discover the newly found stinkin medical condition.

Very cute outfit and even cuter DD!!!

I am so bad with remembering usernames! I didn't realize it was you when you posted the pictures yesterday. But, now I recognize you after seeing Heidi's cute little face! I love the trim on the skirt. It really finishes it off!

I'm not sure....If you're asking if you can put something over the interfacing so you don't get gunk on your iron, I usually put an old piece of fabric or a towel or something over it. Actually, now that I think of it, my fusible interfacing directions say to put a wet cloth over it while ironing. Sorry if this isn't what you were asking.

Isn't that what husbands are for? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Ya right I wish. Ah yes, but you'd have to do a lot of ironing!

I'm thinking a t-shirt with the little birthday girl head appliqued on it and a cute little purple and pink tutu! Or, make a t-shirt dress with the tutu if you want it to be all one piece. Just a thought!

Wait till they hit 15 sniff sniff... My "baby" is 15 today.

I finished up 2 halloween skirts last night.. total on fabric spend $1.00 each lol.. I made one for the girl I babysit and my dd. I will post a pic later. I need to expand to shirts and try to learn something new.

Does anyone know off the top of their head how much the solid fabrics are in Walmart. I need red.

Just looked at fabric at WalMart today- the basics range from 1.97- 3.97 a yard...depending on what it is. ALthough our had some reasonably cute stuff in the clearance. I saw a Dorothy blue check that was calling for me- but DH already called me "obsessed" once this week. So I just bought a tiny fall leaf remnant instead. I know I have something to match it in my stash my grams gave me!

My dd will be 1 on Nov. 8! They are really close! We too are lokking for a birthday outfit! I really like the tutus but afraid to try!

Here are some of our outfits we have for our upcoming Disney Trip.Buying the outfits have been just as much fun as planning for the trip....Can't wait!!!!
