Just had to comment. I told you I have a Hannah and a Sophie, they also call my parents grammy and pop. Too funny! :rotfl:

That is pretty cute. My DD3 has been calling my Mom Grams as a nick name it is pretty cute.

I sent my DH and the baby to the park. My DD got sick from her first week of school. She did not want to go so I know she is sick. Hopefully, I can sew but she is not making it easy!!! She is just sick enough to hang on the couch but not sick enough to go to the doctors. I think she is starting to milk her "condition."

Here is the Halloween outfit for the MNSSHP. I love the idea of the pink dress, wish I thought of it first!

Did you have a pattern or did you piece on together? I am making a Franken-pattern. I would love to know what you did.

My Dh and I went on an afternoon date today. I told him Jo Ann's was having a sale on a lot of stuff I needed- funny need!

I gave him some choices-

1. I could go by myself.
2. We could all go.
3. I could take the girls.
4. I could take one girl.
5. We could make it a date and go alone!

He picked number 5!!!!

This was good and bad. I had company. That was nice. I could not spend too much money without hearing Sweet Jebus. Yes, he says Jebus. I had a second 40% off coupon for him and I finally I could bounce ideas off him.

He did pretty good at first. We did spent like two hours at the really big Jo Ann's Etc . . . Most of it was in line. We went to lunch and then went to another Jo Ann's because the big one was out of a certain fabric. I then took him to two craft stores to find the perfect silk roses.

The second fabric store he did not do so well because the lady cutting was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sloooooooooooooooooooooow. She also hummed the whole time which only made me have to pee! Anyway, with that TMI we had a nice time. He thought my ideas were pretty cool and he helped me make some good choices.

For the Christmas trip. I am making DD the Belle Christmas dress. I am so excited I got the pattern pieces cut tonight. I was going to buy a satin-like fabric because of the cost $3.50 a yard- not bad. It did not feel really nice. I told DH I wish I could get velvet but it was too expensive. He said well lets go check it out and we did. I found a really nice velvet for $12.99 a yard. I used my 40% off coupon and got an extra 10% off. I spent about $25 for over three yards. The brocade was on sale and the satin was 50% off. I am a happy girl!!!

Here is the fabric trim, and flowers for Belle.

My MIL is picking up the Alice crocs for DD.

Here is the fabric for Cinderella's pink dress. DD is going to wear it to 1900 Park Faire.

I was inspired by another DISer who makes calico princess dresses. I am doing Snow White and Sleeping Beauty for DD also. I thought these might be more comfy than the gowns she has. I just got her the Sleeping Beauty dress so she may want to wear that one but Snow White was from Target and has seem better days!

Hopefull I will have some great Belle pics to post on Sunday!

I LOVE the calico idea. DD has had a lot of the classic princess dresses and since she is 8, I'm hesitant to buy any more. I'm making a tutu and embellishing a tshirt to go with it for our Princess breakfast. Wish I had thought of the calico idea earlier. Can't wait to see your finished outfits!

Note to self: Dont look at this thread when DD is around. Now guess what she wants me to make?? She loves Cinderella and has been telling me she wants a 'working girl' cinderella dress forever :rotfl: I an hoping this is what she meant by working girl!

Almost forgot....has anyone seen any Lilo (and Stitch) fabric anywhere? I saw some on Voldemort and it was a greenish color with hula dancing lilos on it. I loved it, but all she had was a fat quarter. I need about a yard and 1/2. I cant find it anywhere! I saw some other fabric there with both of them on it but it wasnt as cute to me.

I really want to make something Lilo/tropical for our Ohanas dinner, and DD's favorite movie these days is Lilo.

Any help?

Did you have a pattern or did you piece on together? I am making a Franken-pattern. I would love to know what you did.

It is a Pilgrim pattern. McCalls 5542. The top didn't have the rounded front, I curved it. and the sleeves had cuffs, so I just cut it the sleeves off. The scarf is kind of big, (also part of the pattern), but I don't think I'm going to play with it. I thought the skirt was too full when I made it, but it seems okay. And she loves that twirly feel to it.

That is funny!! Sometimes at JoAnnes, they have fabric that looks like boards, I was going to see if I could make a "bucket" for the candy pail. Last year I had bought Jaq and Gus on hooks. So we can do something with them.

Too funny! DW saw these at Waldemort tonight and said "Perfect"!

Adorable!!! Definately "Perfect"!

Your dds could pass for twins, sitting down of course! I'm sure standing up your dd5 is much taller than dd3!

So, customs it is for CRT!!!!! I'll take gowns just in case they want to change when we get there.

DD 5 is about 4 inches taller. Even standing, IRL people always think they are twins. Which customs are you getting?

Your daughters are sOOOO pretty! They look gorgeous!

Thanks, Teresa!!! That was Gracie's 5th bday and she was in heaven getting a makeover and eating in the castle with the REAL Cinderella!!!! How do I top that.....LOL

I was watching those. Very cute but I think I am gonna try to make some of my own. My best friend is a scrapper, crafty extraordinaire so I will seek her guidance...:goodvibes

If your not in a hurry, be patient, The site that must not be named, usually has a it. I was just there looking at the Disney fabric, and didn't see any. Try a search for Lilo fabric and see it something comes up with that.

You know, I just noticed this in your siggie last night also. It is my very favorite song. I even found a board book of this song for my little ones.
Every time I hear it I cry--never fails. That song just gives me goose bumps.

Where did you find the book?

One more question for the night. Does anyone have a hemming foot and do you like it? I hate trying to figure out hems and if I can just run it through a foot I would be in heaven!

I really want to get a narrow hem foot. I've heard mixed reviews of them. Some people love them while others just can't get theirs to work. I'm going shopping today - without Zoe!!! I'll try to remember to look for one because I think if it worked, it would be a big time saver.

Ok, I am going to attempt my first applique today  - question is....do you cut out the pattern so the pieces fit together like a puzzle or do you overlap them sewing one on top of the other so there is no gap? Does that make sense?

I do it so one piece overlaps the one below. If you do it to fit like a puzzle, you'd need to stitch around all edges of each piece. By overlapping, when you stitch the top piece you're also stitchingthe pieces that it overlaps.

CUTE! My first thought was decoupage jean capris. Of course I think high tops look cute with skirts as long as they aren't too dressy.

Speaking of decoupage, has anyone tried to decoupage shoes? I've heard there is a type of Mod Pdge that works with fabric. I don't think it's washable but I'm really tempted to try it on some of Zoe's stained sneakers. I think I'll look for some of that while I'm out shopping. I just have to be careful about spending - I haven't been able to do much shopping alone in the past few years so when I get the chance, I take advantage of the chance to browse to my heart's content... and just have to remind myself that it doesn't mean I need to buy more than I would if Zoe was there. :goodvibes

I am not in a terrible hurry, but we leave on the 21st....so there is a small hurry. I dont want to be sewing up until the day I leave, although I have a feeling I may be doing that anyways if I keep hanging out here!

We are going to Disney World in two weeks. I own a shoe painting business and these are the ones I made for my three year old. Then I also did a shirt (painting) for my son, 2 years old.
So much fun!

Everyone else has some super cute stuff! I love getting new ideas!

Ahhhh, I can't get the pictures to post. Sorry, but I did want everyone to know their stuff is so cute!

LisaZoe,
I think you could even use fabric glue on the shoes as long as it says it would dry clear. I think it might turn out really well.
In fact I think it might work well on any fabric, shirts, jeans. I might try that on some overalls I have for my 2 year old!

I've been looking too, but that is all I have seen. We don't go until March, but not sure I will see anything different since there hasn;t been for a while. I was thinking about 2 options. 1) make a dress out of red hibiscus fabric that somewhat matches Lilo or has a Lilo applique on it or 2) buy the fabric and cut out several Lilo pictures and applique them on a tshirt in a row across the front and embellish the shirt with flowered trim, etc. Let me know what you come up with. I'm always looking for ideas.

It looks great! I too was trouble finding the right skirt. I am going to use a Lizzy M skirt, sleeves from one pattern and a bodice from a third. Hence the franken-pattern. Oh and an apron from the Alice pattern. So I guess I have four patterns. I did not even think about the scarf. Oh NO!

My three year old just informed me I need to get back to work so I guess my break is over!

Here is the bodice so far. I have the back sewed on also. I just did not photograph that as well. I also surged all the seems and the piping turned out better than I expected. Using the zipper foot is great for piping!!!

We are going in March too. I have planned a pink flowered ruffle top and matching white capris. I am also going to do big hibiscus hair bows for my girls. I was going to do Lilo outfits but I thought this way they could wear them in the summer too.

Those are good ideas....the red hibiscus would work well. Maybe I can find a way to use some of the other fabric just as an accent hmmm....
