just have to say... I love your siggie. That song is very special to my heart. It is my sons song. Love it. THanks for posting it in your siggie.
Lori

Wow Lori you really touched me. :goodvibes I just added it to my siggy! Thank you for noticing and it really is true you know...He has a plan though we don't always understand it.

Thank you everyone for the complements! I really do appreaciate them!

Someone had asked me why I put the bow on Minnie that way?

Well, DD knew that this was the dress for dinner at Chef Mickey's, so she said that she wanted it to look more like Mickey!
Who am I to argue with that logic!:rotfl:

Really adorable!!! I saw the original and yours is definately better!!!!:thumbsup2

I must admit the bow was bugging me. Now it makes perfect sense.....Is it a detachable bow just in case she were to run into minnie????

Awww darn Jenn I see they gotcha on the size of the pics in your siggy. I loved the bigger ones better...oh well. Your kids are still cute though smaller!:goodvibes
That's so funny about making the bow moveable :rotfl2:

Yes, it is on a swivel pin back. But I don't dare touch it! DD would have a cow!

She said that Mickey has to be there! Plus he's close to her heart and that is the way it should be!

Thanks!
Yes, I am pretty partial to my "Mr Mouse" outfits.

All the oufits are adorable! I have to comment that I looove the seller of the Mr. Mouse outfit and Pluto shorts! She did a Miss Mouse one for my daughter and also a beautiful Cinderella shirt!

:wizard: Have an awesome trip!

Since you say she doesn't really like the costumes, I would definetely not make her wear one. You want her comfortable and happy. When we went, two years ago, there were girls in costumes and girls in shorts and t-shirts.

Thanks for your response! I wasn't going to make her wear one if she didn't want to :goodvibes I just wanted to get a sense of what most of the other girls will be wearing so dd wouldn't feel out of place if she didn't have a gown on.

I was going to say I think a custom would best, but that was before I read everyone else's post. We're doing CRT in Dec and I was planning customs for my dds mostly because I have an amazing skirt designed to make for dd6. Now I'm reconsidering. If dd6 wears a Cinderella gown, and dd8 loves Jasminee what should she wear? Is there a Jasmine gown?

It sounds like you have a beautiful skirt in mind! I'm glad other little girls may be in custom outfits also!

I think they should wear whatever they would be comfortable in. When we went 2 years ago my girls wore customs (which were not as fancy as these). Most of the princesses commented on their outfits. Later when we went to toontown they were recognized in another outfit by one of the same princesses. I think they will feel like a princess in anything!

I agree! I know she'll be so starstruck no matter what she is wearing! :)

Just thought I'd mention that Lillian Vernon has adorable Princess costumes that are not itchy!! They are also the prettiest one's I've seen! Not the Tulle ones from Disney Store.
Here's DD'S Cinderella from Lillian Vernon
IMG_1648.jpg

It came with the fingerless gloves and the choker.
I'm eyeing the sleeping beauty costume...soooo pretty!

Thanks! I'll have to check them out, especially if the dresses are comfortable and soo pretty! I just love your dd's costume.

I haven't read other's responses to this yet. I'm behind in my reading (as always). But we eat at the castle almost every trip and most girls are NOT dressed in gowns. Some are, but it's never been the majority or even close to it.

Chantell

I'm glad that no matter what we decide, it sounds like there will be a good mix of gowns and other outfits there!

I took princess gowns for my girls to wear but gave them the option of not wearing it. They chose not to as those things are too itchy! Here is what they wore & the pp is right, I don't remember seeing one princess gown in the whole restaurant. They are having customs for out next trip.

I think I'll do the same...I'll bring a gown "just in case" and let her decide from there.

Thank-you to everyone who responded to my post and I'm sorry if I missed anybody! You're all a really great group of ladies (and gents ;) )

What were you doing...watching a horror movie :scared1: while sewing???? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I just crack myself up. BTW Lisa....if you have posted 1900 times, why does your thing still say you are a Mousketeer and not a Dis Veteran??? Just wondering why it didnt automatically switch :confused3

Well, actually I did have the TV to the Sci Fi channel but they're only playing "nature run amok" movies today. I think it's more likely that my machine is just not made for the amount of use it gets. It does pretty well since it's an inexpensive White from JoAnns but I really hope to replace it in the not too distant future.

I'm not sure why my label didn't change. It could be because I edited it at one time and then went back to Mouseketeer so the system assumes I have a custom label. It's OK because Mousketeer sounds younger than DIS Veteran. :lmao:

I have cut through things too while trying to do a more complicated applique this week. Sadly, that thing is now in the TRASH! KISS! (keep it simple stupid!) I have to remember this montra!

I was VERY glad Zoe wasn't at home at the time because she'd have heard language I don't want her to think is OK to use. ;) The tshirt will probably end up in the trash once I get it out from behind the dresser where it somehow ended up. :rolleyes1

Ah yes.... black piping, my nemesis! I can't tell you how frustrated I was when I began.

Once I did some research and found out that the zipper foot is the best way to sew it in, I did fine.

I don't know why I have to add a level of difficulty to everything I do?:confused3

I keep telling myself KISS! Keep it simple stupid!

For some reason I don't listen to myself very well!:rolleyes1

I will have to post photos of my piping episode that I had today. I have never sewn it in before with a machine, and it was an experience. I did get close enough with my regular foot, but it was a little wonky in some areas and I had to go back over it. It came out great, but it was slightly scary... Now I find my self thinking, what else can I add it to? Great job, as usual...

They have a two piece blue Jasmine outfit. It is cute but it is not a gown. I think your daughters will love the castle so much it will not matter if they are wearing trash bags!! They are going to have a blast! My DD will sleep in her costumes if I let her. She loves to dress up!

Well, we probably have two of every princess gown there is and I don't want to buy anything new. So, I think I'll have them take their favorites and then let them choose after they receive their CRT invitation from Cinderella.

Hi Everyone,
Since starting my new semester, I have been so busy with clinicals, that I haven't had much time to sew. But I did manage to finish my dd's outfit....
The bows I bought, and are absolutely gorgeous, with little red hearts sewn on...I just couldn't get a good picture...

I love the Raggedy Ann outfit!!

Thought I would share the customs we have for our trip. We leave in 2 days!!
No, I did not make these but I did help is the designs of them.

I love all of the boy outfits!! I can't wait until dgs is old enough to start sewing for.

Just thought I would share the outfit I got for Sam for our dinner at Ohana's.
I found it on the site-which-must-not-be named :wizard: . I just love the color and the pink hibiscus background.

th_samslilooutfit.jpg

I love this!

I think today the boys clothes are outnumbering the girls.
Here is my latest Mickey head shirt for my son. Excuse the 3 y/o smile.

th_disboutique034.jpg

I also love how you centered Mickey, and your ds is adorable!

I know I am alittle late posting this but I have had a busy first school week. I made this for Megan's first day of first grade. I so so inspired by all of you that I made it the weekend before she started. Thank you for all your ideas and help, and for sharing all of your work.

That's definitely a keepsake, she's so cute! Good job on the dress!

OK, so here is my second official finished project :goodvibes I of course see all the mistakes, but DD loves it. I wish I would have listened to my instincts and bought ribbon instead of fabric for the black contrast section and strap. Folding and sewing that evenly was a total pain, and ribbon would have been easier and nicer looking IMO. Other than that, it was pretty easy to do really!

th_100_6822.jpg

I think ribbon would've been easier too, but now you know for next time! Looks great, and she is beautiful... that color looks very nice on her!

th_disney070.jpg

Your dds could pass for twins, sitting down of course! I'm sure standing up your dd5 is much taller than dd3!

So, customs it is for CRT!!!!! I'll take gowns just in case they want to change when we get there.

Another awesome creation from Tom!

I keep telling myself KISS! Keep it simple stupid!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Ok, this is going on a plaque and hanging in my sewing room!!!

I need a little help with a circle skirt.

I have all the peices cut, the top will be a cotton, middle is tulle and bottom is cotton again. Do I gather the tulle before I sew it in, or just sew it onto the waistband like the others? Oh the bottom peice is longer than the tulle to keep the itchies away

I gather the tulle before stitching it onto the bottom, then I add the top and attach them all to the waistband. Make sense? Can't wait to see it!

oh my goodness!
This totally puts my Mini-Bolts to shame! :)

She looks so cute!!! What an adorable dress!

I have been a lurker, but LOVE all of the items! I am obsessed with purchasing disney boutique outfits!!!! One of these days I will get pictures of the outfits and my girls up!

Well, we LOVE pictures! I can't wait to see your outfits!

That is REALLY pretty! I love the way you made it fancy with the ribbon! Your daughter is a beauty!
I know these aren't great pics, but the princess did not like the press today. :lmao:

I had to show off the topsy-turvy Cinderella doll I made her too.

Love you Dance! I freaking can't wait to meet you! :yay:

Does someone have the drawing of the minnie head with a bow? The one to use for an applique? I know I saw one here before, no way could I find it in all the posts & I did look at the links on the first page too. I would even just love a pic/drawing of just the bow if anyone has one! LOL I can't even draw a simple bow!:lmao: I was going to use ribbon, but I think I like the appliques fabric as a bow look better!!

Hey!!! My Parents and Sister (and her family) live in Riverside! Do I hear little multi-cultural children singing a very familiar attraction song???? Tell them hi for me, ok? LOL.

Your dd is so cute! I really have liked all the back to school outfits and yours is awesome! LOVE it!

Want to know what I did today??? Got Tom out of my dining room!!!!

We've had an old HUGE GIANT refrigerator in our VERY VERY VERY TEENY TINY dining room for TWO STINKIN YEARS!!!!. We could barely squeeze through between the fridge and the dining room table. And, the table was pushed up against a wall. We had to pull it out every time we ate, and then, we'd sort of have to climb into our seats. Fun fun. Anyway, my dad came over today and took that stinkin fridge out of the dining room!!!! WOO HOOO!!! The kids and I have been skipping and dancing through it! Although, I keep turning sideways, even though I don't have to! YEAH DAD!!

Sorry, that was WAYYY off topic. But, my fabric stash is in the basement, which is through the dining room, so that sort of brings it all back around, right?

Then, I went to Joanns and Hobby Lobby (didn't find your fabric Spongie :sad2: ) AND THE DISNEY STORE!!! WOO HOO!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: They closed ours a few years ago, so that is always a treat!!!!

Yep, I just knew you'd all want to know what I did today! :rolleyes1

My DD's lunch box has a great Minnie with bow outline. It is in the car. I will do it in the morning for you. Hope you can wait.

Awwww! Raggedy (sp?) Ann!!!!!

I think I am in love with every thing you create! I wish my mama made me stuff like that! Your daughters are seriously lucky beyond the stars! :cheer2:

My Dh and I went on an afternoon date today. I told him Jo Ann's was having a sale on a lot of stuff I needed- funny need!

I gave him some choices-

1. I could go by myself.
2. We could all go.
3. I could take the girls.
4. I could take one girl.
5. We could make it a date and go alone!

He picked number 5!!!!

This was good and bad. I had company. That was nice. I could not spend too much money without hearing Sweet Jebus. Yes, he says Jebus. I had a second 40% off coupon for him and I finally I could bounce ideas off him.

He did pretty good at first. We did spent like two hours at the really big Jo Ann's Etc . . . Most of it was in line. We went to lunch and then went to another Jo Ann's because the big one was out of a certain fabric. I then took him to two craft stores to find the perfect silk roses.

The second fabric store he did not do so well because the lady cutting was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sloooooooooooooooooooooow. She also hummed the whole time which only made me have to pee! Anyway, with that TMI we had a nice time. He thought my ideas were pretty cool and he helped me make some good choices.

For the Christmas trip. I am making DD the Belle Christmas dress. I am so excited I got the pattern pieces cut tonight. I was going to buy a satin-like fabric because of the cost $3.50 a yard- not bad. It did not feel really nice. I told DH I wish I could get velvet but it was too expensive. He said well lets go check it out and we did. I found a really nice velvet for $12.99 a yard. I used my 40% off coupon and got an extra 10% off. I spent about $25 for over three yards. The brocade was on sale and the satin was 50% off. I am a happy girl!!!

Here is the fabric trim, and flowers for Belle.

My MIL is picking up the Alice crocs for DD.

Here is the fabric for Cinderella's pink dress. DD is going to wear it to 1900 Park Faire.

princessfabric005.jpg

I was inspired by another DISer who makes calico princess dresses. I am doing Snow White and Sleeping Beauty for DD also. I thought these might be more comfy than the gowns she has. I just got her the Sleeping Beauty dress so she may want to wear that one but Snow White was from Target and has seem better days!

Hopefull I will have some great Belle pics to post on Sunday!
