My three year old just informed me I need to get back to work so I guess my break is over!

Here is the bodice so far. I have the back sewed on also. I just did not photograph that as well. I also surged all the seems and the piping turned out better than I expected. Using the zipper foot is great for piping!!!

Here you go-

Aimee that is going to be gorgeous!! What pattern(s) are you using? Now get of the computer and finish that gown!!

CUTE! My first thought was decoupage jean capris. Of course I think high tops look cute with skirts as long as they aren't too dressy.

Speaking of decoupage, has anyone tried to decoupage shoes? I've heard there is a type of Mod Pdge that works with fabric. I don't think it's washable but I'm really tempted to try it on some of Zoe's stained sneakers. I think I'll look for some of that while I'm out shopping. I just have to be careful about spending - I haven't been able to do much shopping alone in the past few years so when I get the chance, I take advantage of the chance to browse to my heart's content... and just have to remind myself that it doesn't mean I need to buy more than I would if Zoe was there. :goodvibes

That's exactly what I'm going to do! I found a set with a decoupaged jean skirt. That should be adorable with the shoes.

Ther is a mod podge made for fabrics. I thought I saw a project for decoupaging shoes using TISSUE PAPER. Of course I can't find it now! There's also a sparkle mod podge, but I'm not sure if that's ok for fabrics.
I found these...so yep you can use it on shoes!

Want to know what I did today??? Got Tom out of my dining room!!!!
You named your fridge Tom???:rotfl2: :rotfl2: How funny but I am glad "he" is out of your living room. That gives you space to eat! Or sew?:confused3 You just crack me up!
My Dh and I went on an afternoon date today. I told him Jo Ann's was having a sale on a lot of stuff I needed- funny need!

Wow Aimee I just LOVE your fabrics and I want to move in with you so we can sew together! :rotfl: Just kidding! I am not weird  I can't wait to see your creations. Did you already get your patterns? I need a few more to work on my big princess creations. I really love the Belle colors so maybe I will do that when I get finished the 10 projects in cue. Oh yeah then there is work and hubby and kids and stuff like that...:rolleyes1

Wow I was trying to picture how it would look when you just showed the fabric. But now wow that is going to be beautiful. no pun intended. I am looking forward to seeing the finished product. We are going to Disneyland on Christmas day and I am not sure what to do for the 3 girl yet:scared: . Good luck with the rest of your dress. :cheer2:

Here is the fabric trim, and flowers for Belle.

Here is the fabric for working Cinderella.

My MIL is picking up the Alice crocs for DD.

Here is the fabric for Cinderella's pink dress. DD is going to wear it to 1900 Park Faire.

I was inspired by another DISer who makes calico princess dresses. I am doing Snow White and Sleeping Beauty for DD also. I thought these might be more comfy than the gowns she has. I just got her the Sleeping Beauty dress so she may want to wear that one but Snow White was from Target and has seem better days!

I'm right there with you Wendy!

TJoy- I love how you managed to stay ON TOPIC.... :teacher:

Glad you appreciate it!!! :rotfl2:

Does anyone know where you can look up manuals for your sewing machine?

I have a Kenmore 385 and can't find my manual which is burried somewhere in my house :scared1:

When I needed to find one, I just googled the sewing machine and model number with manual in the search. I found some free online and some that people were selling.

Here is the Halloween outfit for the MNSSHP. I love the idea of the pink dress, wish I thought of it first!

I love this dress! I may have to try that! Your daughter looks so cute in it!

Talk about an itchy bidding finger....I won these late last night. Now I have to figure out what DD will wear with them!!

th_ad0c_2.jpg
These are adorable!

That is pretty cute. My DD3 has been calling my Mom Grams as a nick name it is pretty cute.

I sent my DH and the baby to the park. My DD got sick from her first week of school. She did not want to go so I know she is sick. Hopefully, I can sew but she is not making it easy!!! She is just sick enough to hang on the couch but not sick enough to go to the doctors. I think she is starting to milk her "condition."

Oh, I'm sorry she's not feeling well! I hope she gets better soon.

Almost forgot....has anyone seen any Lilo (and Stitch) fabric anywhere? I saw some on Voldemort and it was a greenish color with hula dancing lilos on it. I loved it, but all she had was a fat quarter. I need about a yard and 1/2. I cant find it anywhere! I saw some other fabric there with both of them on it but it wasnt as cute to me.

I really want to make something Lilo/tropical for our Ohanas dinner, and DD's favorite movie these days is Lilo.

Any help?

Is this what you are looking for?

I made Lyddy's dress out of it and am planning on one for Arminda pretty soon.

Yep, Arminda named him Tom. I am still not use to him being gone though! Yep, now I have room to eat and sew without having to get up and move my chair if someone wants a drink or something to eat in the kitchen!! It really is a truly wonderful thing!!!

Lilo and stitch fabric - I found a different one on Voldemort Express you can check out. Search Disney Fabric Lilo & Stitch Blue 2 yards. It's kinda pricy but at least it exists :surfweb:

Does anyone have instructions for a dress like THIS

Thanks, back to sewing, I think I have to applique a mickey head today....this could go very wrong.

...t.

Do I have to have a certain number of posts to share pictures? I can't find that rule anywhere?

I have some shoes I did and a shirt I wanted to share, but can't get it to work and wondered if that is the problem. I was using photobucket to post them. Do you all use another program to post pictures?

I believe it's 10 posts, so you should be able to do it now. Photobucket is the best one to use for this site.

I posted earlier but could not get the pictures to come up.
Let's try this time.
I own a shoe painting business and decided my 3 year old needed a pair for Disney World in two weeks. I also hand painted a shirt for my 2 year old.

I love sharing this stuff, since everyone has such wonderful ideas!
I just wish I could get over my fear of the sewing machine!

Very cute, we love Mater!!! And, gotta love the bling on those shoes!!!

While I was shopping at the Disney Store yesterday (we were in Mishawaka while THE GAME was going on and the kidsgot so excited when we kept seeing the blimp!) I bought a plain old Mickey Head antenna topper, with thoughts of "Blinging it Up" It was only .99 and I had a 15% off coupon(don't worry, it wasn't the only thing I bought!). Now, I'm wishing I had bought more of them! I wonder what type of glue will hold up to 55 mph wind? (You know, I would NEVER speed!)

Oh yeah I bet that E600 would work well.
That would be cute! I bet you could get some styro foam balls from the craft store and make one and then bling it up. That could be fun.

One more question for the night. Does anyone have a hemming foot and do you like it? I hate trying to figure out hems and if I can just run it through a foot I would be in heaven!

I just got one and there's a bit of a learning curve that I'm still working on. :lmao: The lady at the store made it look so easy...I think once I practice more I'll love it.

AimeeG That bodice is simply beautiful! I can't wait to see the finished dress! Wonderful fabric choices!

*Castle* I love, love, love Raggedy Ann. It's TDF!

*Tom* your latest and greatest is stuffing as usual! I love your choice of fabrics

Hmmm, that fabric looks like what I just made my new diaper bag out of. Maybe I need shoes to match. :rotfl2:

My Dh and I went on an afternoon date today....

I was inspired by another DISer who makes calico princess dresses.

My dh and I went on a date yesterday, we got up at 5am and drove to Gatlinburg TN and Cherokee NC. I've never been to either and it was a learning experience. We now know where to go next time and where to avoid!!! I guess you can compare it to living in NY your whole life and never visiting the Statue of Liberty! No fabric involved in the trip, although I did look for a Joanns everywhere we went just so I could try getting that ruffler again! No luck!

Aimee, do tell... who makes the calico dresses? I can't seem to recall them.

I asked dd6 what she thought of that dress, and her jaw dropped to the floor and she said "mom, you know I have to have a Cinderella work dress now!!!" I knew she'd recognize it. Great job!

Stop teasing us!!!!!!!! Get back to work, I'm dying to see this dress!

I've been looking too, but that is all I have seen. We don't go until March, but not sure I will see anything different since there hasn;t been for a while. I was thinking about 2 options. 1) make a dress out of red hibiscus fabric that somewhat matches Lilo or has a Lilo applique on it or 2) buy the fabric and cut out several Lilo pictures and applique them on a tshirt in a row across the front and embellish the shirt with flowered trim, etc. Let me know what you come up with. I'm always looking for ideas.

I'm making skirts using the Lilo fabric and some Elvis fabric. They'll wear them with a tshirt designed by someone on the Creative DISign board. I love seeing the Lilo outfits!

I immediately thought of Sammy Hagar! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I don't know what happened to my quote, but in reply to Graciegirlie - I'm making a custom Cinderella layered tulle skirt for dd6 and something Jasmine for dd8. I've been buying coordinating fabrics thinking I might do a patchwork, but not sure. I did find some embroidered Jasmine stickers at Joanns on Friday so they might find their way into it somehow.

I don't want to sound like a know-it-all, but I bought some E-6000 yesterday and on the back it listed all of the types of materials it would work on, on styrofoam it said 'not recommended.' It might be too harsh for foam. I wouldn't want you to ruin your Mickey. :scared1:

Teresajoy - is there a piping tutorial in your bookmarks?
