I thought the same thing when I was making the same shirt a few days ago. I made mine kinda a-lined because I didn't want it straight. I like the way it came out. I think the pattern calls for a 14" square. I made mine with the top 14" and the bottom was maybe 16" or 18"? I just drew it out before I cut. I like the way it came out. I also think I want to add a ruffle to the bottom.

My DD has worn the Belle ball gown (in my sig) all over town. I figure for $60 I will let her get some wear out of it. Heck, I still wear my wedding tiara when I clean my house and I have been married for six years!!! My Mom was surprised how much use I got out of it!!

kind of off topic, but is anyones kids into Webkinz we got this elephant that I have no idea what to do with!

My kids each have about 10 each and I have a stock pile of them for bribing purposes. Do you not know how to use it (play with it on the computer)? I'm off to Back to School night but I'd be happy to answer whatever question you might have.

Alright, mom and I worked all afternoon and she worked yesterday and I cut out material on Tuesday and here is what we have mostly finished. We still need to do hems on the dresses and add buttons to all outfits.

We jsut have 2 more outfit to finish and we are ready for Disney!

The photos do not do this justice!! I think it will look much better on. I still have to do the zipper. My Mommy's going to help me tomorrow. I will pin the hem when DD gets home.

I also have trim for the bottom. It is the same ribbon as the sleeves but wider. I think the sleeves turned out really nice! I love the lining. I still cannot find the missing sleeve. The gather ribbon channels are my favorite part. I think that this was not the best project to learn how to use my serger but the serger was great because of the type of fabric.

I will say you have not lived until you "seam ripped" confetti dot, glitter whatever, and satin lining all together!

Oh Aimee it is stunning! So perfect for the Renanisance Festival too. This may redeam the Star Wars comments...well only if you re-sell it to another MD little girl...I could entice the offer with Thrashers and crabs

Hey do you remember that HBO movie from the 1980's called the Worst Witch? I wonder if I can get that on DVD. I loved it and I bet my DD would too!

I do not love Star Wars but Space Balls is in my top five all time favorite movies! Does that count at all???

Oh YES Space balls helps too. One more point, plus the origional point, and at least 3 points for the dress. Hey you might just start to be friendly again!!! Oh heck does this sound like middle school or what?

We are going to be at WDW September 7-15 staying at the Polynesian. My dd is 4 and will have at least one custom for each day and 2 for most days. We will also be at MNSSHP on the 14th. DD is going to be Minnie Mouse and my dh & I will be Mouseketeers. I can't wait to look for everyone's kids in their cute customs!

Hey girls! I was just listening to /watching Martha Stewart and she had a Childrens book author on her show. This author has written AWESOME book(s) called Fancy Nancyand it's sequel involving the neighbor's puppy!. If you have a dd who LOVES to accessorize and glam up, and never settles for plain ANYTHING This would be a wonderful choice! I can't wait to get my hands on this book. I love the illustrations!

I think whenever we have anything over-the-top glitzy and girlie, we should call it "Fancy Nancy"....hee hee

We have Fancy Nancy and Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy. DD got them for her (first) birthday, but they were really for Mommy

Was this where all the little girls were there dressed fancy and she showed ideas for having a Fancy Nancy party? I saved all of that the first time it was on and we are so having one when DD is older.

Yeah but it was Star Wars. And all of thsoe questions got answered...what happened to all the Jedi, why was Luke on Tatoine, how did Darth turn into Darth, why is Yoda banished to that swamp land....really if you weren't so selfish you would have gotten out of that bed and gone and seen it Speaking as a nurse, THAT would have raised some issues!!!!

But your family should be eternally grateful. You should always have an asterick next to your name (MOM*) so people have to ask you what it means and you can tell them..."well it was Star Wars, and some disrespectful child of mine had the nerve to think it needed to come early after I was smashed by a 16 wheeler while trying to save a Harp Seal from the evil beaters, and I MISSED the first showing of Star Wars by being so unselfish!"

Lori...we also have the elephant and just to warn you....Webkinz are very addictive My 2.5 year old will even ask to do the activities. I hope you guys enjoy yours as much as my little ones have theirs.

None. Oh yeah and when you pay for dessert at a restaurant...it costs so much for ONE slice because they take all of the calories out. Didn't you know that is why restaurant desserts and Thrashers are so expensice? geeze
