Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 3

Okay,

The photos do not do this justice!! I think it will look much better on. I still have to do the zipper. My Mommy's going to help me tomorrow. I will pin the hem when DD gets home.

I also have trim for the bottom. It is the same ribbon as the sleeves but wider. I think the sleeves turned out really nice! I love the lining. I still cannot find the missing sleeve. The gather ribbon channels are my favorite part. I think that this was not the best project to learn how to use my serger but the serger was great because of the type of fabric.

I will say you have not lived until you "seam ripped" confetti dot, glitter whatever, and satin lining all together!

Wow Aimee! What a labor of love that must have been! Great job!

Can't wait to see the rest of the outfits when finished: these are so cute! Would you mind sharing the pattern # for this top? I think it is absolutely adorable!

I will have to email my mom. the pattern is at her house. She is the one with all the great sewing stuff. I really enjoyed using her machine. The Pfaff machine was much nicer than my 15 yo kenmore!

Sorry so BIG! YIKES! To thumbnail, put th_ before the P in the IMG code

These are GREAT, but I LOVE that Alice outfit!!

Your countdown is fantastic. We just started our paper chain (75 more links!)...

:lmao: I totally agree!! My DD wears her fancy dresses everywhere we go and she's always getting asked if she's going to have her picture taken. My nieces have been known to wear gymnastics outfits to the mall (and they've never taken gymnastics) and princess dresses to church.

My girls get asked this all the time....almost daily...Yes I overdress them...but it's better to over dress them then to see the snobby mother perfectly done up with full make up, perfect clothes, and her designer purse of the week, and see her poor little one looking like they crawled out of the garbage can...it's so sad when parents don't take pride in their childs appearance..:confused3

This is what we are going to do with our paper chain. The links worked really well last year! Pat from the Disigns board did this. I love it!

kind of off topic, but is anyones kids into Webkinz we got this elephant that I have no idea what to do with!
Lori

My kiddos LOVE their Webkinz - DD has been playing with hers online for a year and a half now. I can't believe how popular they have become! You register your animal at Webkinz.com and they are a virtual pet you play with, feed and care for. There is a ton to do on the site - you need to check it out!

Lori...we also have the elephant and just to warn you....Webkinz are very addictive:rotfl: My 2.5 year old will even ask to do the activities. I hope you guys enjoy yours as much as my little ones have theirs.

Sort of...we started them last summer but when I had DD life just got in the way. I'll email you :)

I'll probably PM you too. I never did figure out all of the games and stuff. DS has gotten several more since then and I'm afraid to go online. I'm sure our poor puppies are dead by now :(

oh these webkinz seem like they are going to take tooo much time. maybe we will pass it on to the next kid at the next party invitation!

Whew - never thought I would make it home today! I went on a hunt for a few sewing items/needs (lace that I need to finish and outfit and purple T to finish Hannah Montana) and didn't find EITHER!! I drove all over town - and to another area about 40 minutes away. Well, I stopped in at Walmart and brought two outfits I was working on and two shirts I bought in a bag to match with. I had no luck - and decided to head back to the mall in my town. Sat in traffic - finally got to the mall and realized I left my bag at Wal-mart!!!!:scared1: I almost cried! I stayed up until 2AM finishing the skirt I brought. I called and they had it, so I had to get back into traffic for another round trip. I don't know if I have any sewing in me today after all that! DD found a rhinestone iron on that says "rock star" it will look perfect on her Hannah T - if I ever find the right color!

Loved all the outfits you all posted today!

All it needs is a zipper. That will be for tomorrow.

Please excuse DD hair. She just rode 30 minutes with DH in his convertible Jeep! The last photo is my fav because you can see the sleeves and my DD said No more pictures Mommy!

It is beautiful on your little girl! She looks just like a fairy tale princess in this!

Well, I attempted some hair bows. I call them ugly and uglier. Seriously, I can't figure out why I am so bad at this. I even bought the thing at Michael's that UtahMomma said would help. I guess I am just ribbon-challenged.
Ribbon Challenged! :lmao: Can I borrow that phrase? Me too!

WOW!!!! She looks like a real Princess! What are you going to do with her hair?

You really did a great job. I'm impressed!!!! I love all the trim too. Just beautiful, did I say that already?

Thanks:cutie:

You are the hair expert. I was thinking of pulling the top back. She has really pretty soft curls. I wanted to ribbons or something that would go with the dress. I do not want to do a boutique bow. I have some of the bodice braid left a tiny bit of the other ribbon.

Alright, mom and I worked all afternoon and she worked yesterday and I cut out material on Tuesday and here is what we have mostly finished. We still need to do hems on the dresses and add buttons to all outfits.

I have the Nemo fabric and iron on patch etc. just waiting to be created. I like yours!!!! I also like the purple Ariel paired with the red...makes her hair pop (visually, not literally :rolleyes1 ) I like all of it! You did awsome!

Webkinz have been great for my kiddos. My 5 yr old can log himself on now and take care of his pet and play some of the games. I'm sure he doesn't maximize the site but he's happy and I am happy because he's occupied for a bit:thumbsup2

Hey girls! I was just listening to /watching Martha Stewart and she had a Childrens book author on her show. This author has written AWESOME book(s) called Fancy Nancyand it's sequel involving the neighbor's puppy!. If you have a dd who LOVES to accessorize and glam up, and never settles for plain ANYTHING This would be a wonderful choice! I can't wait to get my hands on this book. I love the illustrations!

I think whenever we have anything over-the-top glitzy and girlie, we should call it "Fancy Nancy"....hee hee

My neice (who's turnig 3 next week) LOVES this book and totally relates...only she calls it Bassy Assy:rotfl2: I have no idea why but I crack up every time she says it. my niece loves for everything to be FANCY!

[
Aimee, I just noticed the gold trim around the waist. I bought something very simular for a navy outfit I am having made for my daughter. You are right, we must be pretty simular as well as our DD's. Here is a picture of what I bought, the braid is at the bottom.

She is too stinkin cute! I love those blue eyes. The dress is simply beautiful, very nice work.

2hrs in a fabric store?!? :scared1: Yikes, I get sweaty palms and my heart races after about 15 mins. in there! I usually have something in mind, go right to it, have it cut, and am out the door!

I read this and thought "Typical male shopper" My DH totally does not understand how I can spend an afternoon shopping and enjoy it. :confused3
It's the thrill of the hunt for me. For example today I found a pair of Kate Spade shoes (I know, who's Kate Spade? that's what my DH would say) that I've had my eye on all season. Originally - $225 (yes for shoes) I'm not that crazy but I loved them. Today, out shopping (again) w/my mom and was in clearance room of my favorite store. Those fantastic shoes were marked down to $56 plus I found a $10 pair of sketchers for my nephew.....I would have missed that deal using the get in/get out concept. So it's all about the bargain for me and you don't get those by shopping with purpose:)

My kiddos are far better dressed than me on any given day, usually it's me who looks like the slob:rotfl:

I feel your pain! I have an addiction to handbags. I actually do not even own a non-designer bag now! It is scary!!!

FYI- Liz Claibourne bought Juicy Couture and Kate Spade. All of the Liz Outlet stores are going to be down sized and KS and JC are moving in!!!!

We have a Neiman Marcus outlet about 10 minutes from my house! It is dangerous!!! Funny DH does not care about my addiction. It drives him crazy because I change my purse everyday. Each night he asks me where my cell phone is and I say in my bag! He can never figure out which one I used!

Oooo check out this site it looks like it has a bunch of different designers on it.
http://www.ododboutique.com/new_additions.html

Hopefully that is ok to post, we are allowed to post stores right??
Wowza great site for getting ideas....some stuff is way over the top but I love the ideas! Thanks Piper! :goodvibes

I was away all week and it took me hours to catch up. :headache: Then today I started the girls back-to-school dresses. :teacher: I finished one and will do the other Sat. morning. I will post pics then. I am also making a couple of things for a friend going to Disney which I will post too.

OK just a few quick comments:

Tom - Love the latest outfit! Cute and quick! ;)

Aimee - Awesome job...your DD is so cute too! :cutie:

Wendy - Terrific job....thats a lot of sewing! Love the puffy sleeves on Alice! :thumbsup2

Camp G - GREAT deal on all of those bows. I couldnt have done them myself for that price! :yay:

Ummm I forgot now who made the outfit but - The Hannah Montana outfit is amazing! I love the layers and ruffle and tulle on the musicial note skirt!! How did you do that????? :confused3

Everyone in general.... :grouphug: I love this thread and all of your nice comments to each other. I really enjoy sewing and just want to say thanks for inspiring me to sew again!

You have all inspired me so much that I today went to Spotlight(this is our big material store) and brought some material to make DD5 a dress to wear to MK. My lovely DM is making her a couple of outfits and she today drew a patern for me so that I can get started. I am excited and nervous as it has been a very long time since I have sewed anything(I think high school) anyway when I get it done I will post it but no one is allowed to laugh.

Thanks
Sam from down under
