I come here every night to admire all the wonderful work you all do and sometimes to secretly wish my newly turned sixteen year old daughter were still little and I were creating beautiful Disney fashions for her. :sad1: They grow up much too quickly.

Today, I spent 3 hours ironing the seven layers of net under the skirt of her cotillion dress for Saturday night. No, I didn't make it, my sewing talents never extended that far. It does hang much prettier after a good pressing.

Here is my daughter, she sometimes posts here as The Dark Dancer, mostly on the teen board.

So enjoy them while they are small. it goes by so quickly. Thanks you all for sharing your work. I am sure I am just one of many who admire them all.

Dreamer and Wisher, I forgot to tell you that I really liked your vacation pictures you posted last week! I was gone for the weekend, and didn't get a chance to comment on them.

OOOOH! That is so pretty!! You could pretend she is going as Aurora! Your daughter is beautiful too!

Now, stop this talk about kids growing up too fast. I don't want to hear it!!! lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala

I grew up in Ashwaubenon-right next to De Pere. We now live north of town in Suamico. Maybe we need to plan one of those fabric shopping meets they did in MI??
Here's my latest finished projects for my DN. They are not Disney, but practice for. It's my first strip skirt and embellished jeans.

CUTE STUFF!! You did a great job!

My DH has a sister that is in the process of selling their house in Ashwaubenon and moving to the UP! Ehhh!!! It's sure a small world isn't it?

Astro - I haven't thought of that with the tanks and the weight of the skirt/dress. Maybe next time you could use a "lining" the same color as the tank. Or use 2 tank tops in different colors ... you know that is the style now anyways layred they may be tough enough. Sorry, only ideas I have. You may also be able to remove the previous skirt off the tank and use a new tank ? ? ?

Another general question about ruffles. I don't have a ruffling foot. I was wondering how long a ruffle you tend to use on your skirts. I have a twirl skirt I want to add a ruffle to. It is a complete circle, so I know I will need A LOT of material for a ruffle. Does everyone double the measurement or 1 1/2? Can I please get some opinions on this ? :confused3 Thanks a bunch.

-Michelle

I generaly figure 2.5 times for a good ruffle. Nana

Working on Ts for DD1....

I am going to do a white shirt w/ red polka dot ribbon and a black Mickey head...
hang on the question is coming ;)

Similar to this but the shirt color and a single ribbon...

Here is the question....
I am thinking of making ends of the ribbon long so we can tie it in the back.
In my head this looks cute. What do you think...has anyone done this?
So I would stitch it to the side seams then leave it loose in the back long enough to make a cute bow?

I've been seeing alot of cute disney flannel prints out don't you wish they had some of these prints in cotton? I can't imagine what they do with the flannel other than blankets.

Yes and no. If it's flannel, I'm less tempted to buy more fabric that I don't need. I did see a few Disney prints at JoAnns that I was disappointed to find were flannel. The $9.99 per yard price was a big reason to pass on buying any of the cotton prints. ;)

Thank you! I think a lot of people were out of town. I am glad you liked them.

I met a Diser when my DS and DD were wearing the Pirate mickey outfits. She recognized the outfits from this thread. But I can't remember what her screen name was. She was very nice though :wave2: hello.

I am thinking of making some HS Musical outfits for one of our MGM days... I'd love some ideas, suggestions/pics!???

I like the classic East High T that is on disneyshopping.com right now. I may make an iron on T that says East High and then make a cheerleading skirt for my DD8. The T and basketball shorts for my DS6....

Has anyone use the tutu twirl skirt and corset top patterns from Dainty designs from youcanmakethis.com? I'm think of buying them and am wondering how user friendly they are?!?

Dis you see my post about the 20% off code at YCMAT ? It's WWMAG and good until October.

Boy there has been some really cute stuff! Keep up the beautiful work ladies!

I got behind again when our Modem quit. Good news is we got a new one and DH installed it and it is faster!:surfweb:

Utahmomma when do we get to see your twirl skirt? I keep checking in anticipation! :rolleyes1

Celery stalker I love the tulle skirt that stands up by itself!

Looking forward to more photos! This site loads faster now!

Nana...many many pages ago, I thought you said you were foing to sell on Voldemort:wizard: ...I have you saved in my favorites, but I never see anything. Are you going to sell? You can PM me so we get no infractions! I always admire the Pirate fabric huge twirl dresses that your daughter has a pic of in her siggy. Just wondering and hoping!

I think that is a great idea. I have a very skinny tall girl. Tee shirts are always too short or too wide! I am going to CASE that one!:woohoo:

She's waiting for me to beg. I told her it wasn't a pretty sight, but she thought it might be entertaining for her... and everyone else here.

So- here it goes....

Please, Please,Please MOMMA we need to see those pics!

I'll do a :dance3: for you if you let us see it.......

I'll give you a flower :flower3: .............

Pah-LEEZE!!!!! Don't deny us any longer :sad1:

You don't want to see a grown woman cry..... do you???

(Hopefully... that's enough gravelling for now, but I AM prepared for more if it becomes necessary!)

Yep, that's one of the reasons why I'm thinking of buying them!! Right now until August 25th if you spend $25 you get a free ebook too!! (I think it is called Rick Rack, School is back. Not sure, but I think it's applique patterns!)

I'll post "The Twirl Skirt: A Series of Unfortunate Events" soon! At the moment they're in the camera. The minute, no SECOND, my personal geek squad gets home from work, I'll have him re-size and stick in photobucket and POST.

It's snot that great. But it represents fortitude and stick-with-it-ness that I needed to learn. At least it's publicly wearable...Maybe on the day we do MNSSHP (9/30) during the day. I really need to get Norah those black Mary Jane CROCS! Have you guys seen the ones that aren't out yet called ALICE? No holes! They look like church shoes...only comfy! They'll go with Alice purrrrrfectly. And most anything.

Also worked on the official countdown chart. Made with stolen mickey head paint chips from the Home Depot! (In Utah we add the word "the" unnecessarily before any location).

I want to mount it onto a poster board with disney stickers. That would be fun!

37 more days!!!!!!

Cute! I wish I'd seen something like that when DD was in diapers. I'm definitely keeping the idea for shower gifts, though. My question for you is how did you sew on the hook & loop tape? I always seem to have my thread break, bunch or just can't seem to get my machine to work with it and sewing by hand is not something I do if I can avoid it.
I don't know. I actually thought about it when I was sewing but, it sewed right through, no problem. I did use a long stich length though so maybe that helped. :confused3 Maybe it was cheap velcro?? lol

Have you guys seen the ones that aren't out yet called ALICE?
I saw those online the other day and started freaking out those are awesome! I have the regular mj's they have out now in hot pink.

WOW. You ladies have been so busy. My girls went back to school today so you would think I would have more time to do stuff but somehow it doesn't work out that way.

Great job to all the appliquers out there. I'm too chicken to try more than a outline of something.

Great pillowcase dresses from everyone too.

We are going in Dec. so anyone will some good cooler weather ideas feel free to start posting so I can CASE them.

I did make the peasant top from the tutorial that someone posted and it turned out pretty cute. I just have to applique the MM head and then I'll post it.

GREAT WORK to all.
